Often still just use wired earbuds and will increasingly miss simplicity of that since it worked across all my devices, now it's about does one have right cable or dongle..

At the office I use AirPods which I love since I can control it with the AppleWatch.

At home in bed I wear EarPods all night. If I didn’t Lulu would complain.

Those are awful, too. The old, old, old Earpods/buds had a rubber compound ring that allowed some fit. Apple got rid of those years ago and it's smooth plastic now. In the case of AirPods, the Shure models are good, too, but not nearly half a grand amazing.

Huh?

Earpods don't fit everyone's ears. The Shures work great on the new iPhones, though. I mean, price placed aside, they offer a solid snug fit and very good noise isolation.

Also, in my opinion, people look like dinguses in public wearing the Earpods.

And then...

Isn't Lulu a teacup yorkie? Not sure how she'd complain aside from biting you.

Your quotes are out of order. I hold you in contempt. That’ll be $100.

The conversation I joined was to get clarity on the changes Clix Pix is noticing that prevents using EarPods in bed to avoid bothering the neighbor.

Any ear device has a dimension of fit. That’s a different topic than I’m engaged it.

Where's the human mind and internet going?

I'm amazed of some companies total incapacity and interest of communication and service today. Using almost only standard mails for communication with customers. Plus making themselves unavailable for phone and real communication. Seems that it is going towards fast money and avoiding reality with customers more and more online today. Sad evolvement.

I'm cutting off everything where people aren't using real, respectful and aware communication today.

My roommate told me she saw something on TV where they predicted that 10-15 yrs from now, stores as we know them will no longer exist. They will be completely automated - you walk in, grab the items you want, scan the barcodes yourself, and use something like Apple Pay or whatever to pay for your stuff, and leave.

There will be no more chatting up the cute cashier chick, no more human interaction ... just a bunch of robots scanning barcodes and leaving without saying a word.

This is called ... "progress" :)

Personally, I am going to miss Barnes and Noble the most. I love sitting around piles of paperback books.

You've managed to lose me. Both the new Earpods and the Airpods suck. Fit and audio tend to be terrible on both. Apple used to make good buds back a long time ago. The question isn't the fit, but how good the fit is. There's too much noise loss with the Apple stuff, causing an increase in volume to be utilized. Which results in more ear damage over time. Stuff like Shure's product come with various silicone you can swap in and out and find a fit that works. You use less volume and decrease ear damage over time. Especially now during the volume wars that have been going for two decades.

Lulu is a Cockpoo and she’s convinced that anything that falls in her eyes belongs to her. Even the park and lake out back.

She’s now a registered Democrat. She broke my heart.
Nice. Now there's two of you. :)

You took the wrong turn back there. I’ve stayed clearly within my lane.

LOL the baking recognition scenario.

Face recognition: I’ve started using Windows Hello, which is nice for log ins, but still creeps me out a bit. If the Surface Laptop had fingerprint readers I’d definitely do that.

My resistance to Face ID is simple: as someone who was hit with identity theft, and now phishers trying to desperately get my Apple information, I’d rather not go the full blown Face ID route. I do not want that on my phone (and my phone is my least used device when I am home). I do not need a state-of-the- art phone.

On a more important note, glad you’re okay.

Due to Treacher Collins Syndrome I don't look like most other people (except with a passing similarity to others with the same syndrome) so that was one big concern for me about Face ID: I was sure the system would freak out and not register me at all! LOL! It actually WORKED and still does. WOW! I suppose for that reason (the appearance thing) I am not overly concerned about identity theft if it depends upon someone's looks. From what I have always understood, phishing attempts and other means of snagging someone's identity are actually more related to something that is obtained through email or through surreptitiously lifting credit card information at the time of transaction at a vendor or by hacking a vendor's site rather than through any sort of Face ID. ??

To Gutwrench and others who may have been wondering, too, why I don't just simply use AirPods or earbuds: again, it's related to Treacher Collins Syndrome, which among other things causes conductive hearing impairment and due to atresia/microtia, for me the reality is that EarPods, AirPods or earbuds and such do not work. I do have a wonderful set of bone conduction headphones which are wired and another set which are BT, and they work well when I remember to keep them charged and ready for action! :). I also have not bothered to pair the BT ones with my iPads since I can so easily just plug in the wired ones. Yes, whenever I do buy the next generation of iPad Pros I will need to do that. Right now they are paired with my MBP and that works really well. That said, the next set of BAHAs (bone-anchored hearing aids) / sound processors I get, and I'm actually due for a new pair now, will be equipped with BT and wireless connectivity so I will have new options for listening to music and such, even late at night without resorting to my Shokz Titanium BT or my older wired headphones......

I am sure during one of the Apple hacks, phishers got some of my info. Had a rather unnerving experience last year when I discovered iMac cameras on at an Apple store and was hit with relentless robo phish calls the following Sunday claiming to be calls from that store. I vaguely remember people loitering on the stairs leading up to that store, so possibly related. I did report that to Apple.

Still not wanting to go full Face ID or paying lots of money for bells and whistles I never use.

As far as ear and AirPods, no thanks on both. Do not fit my ears and no Bluetooth for me. My Apple usage hasn’t changed in 10 years (what I do with my Apple stuff and services which I barely use). I am not the target customer anymore. I am finally accepting this.:)

I’m pretty sure it would take a miracle for us to beat them. Apparently they have put 4 goals past us in their last 4 games against us! Our current form is poor, so I think a draw would be optimistic.
Good luck anyway from a non-football fan (which to be fair I prefer over the American variety). :p

I love face-id, though I had to put in a 2nd scanning before it was really ok, I think anyway.
Air-pods, wow, probably the best earphones I’ve ever had. Except maybe when I had some I was running a lot with. Not sure, I don’t run that much at all anymore. And no Air-pods during yoga.
But I do guided meditations any hour with the Air-pods
Did I say I love my Air-pods.

Btw, this thread is like a stormy day at sea.
Going in all directions
All threads nonsense end up here, among some good stuff too :D

Snowing, raining and windy, all of it here. Let it be the **** gone soon.
Hopefully next week.

All directions is fine. As long as they don’t take us into PRSI territory!
