Chia pudding in the summer is nice. And for men of a certain age and beyond, it's good fiber and completely digested without having to be chewed or ground up. I do a warm soak in coconut or almond milk and then top up and refrigerate or switch over to whole milk and use that. Leave it overnight and it's a nice thick dessert. Beauty of coconut or almond milk is you can blend fruit with it and use a smoothie like mixture over milk which make curdle due to acids in the fruit. Cheapest price I've seen is about $7 for 2 lb of organic chia seed. If we're talking about quinoa, I go for the white variant since its taste is near non-existent, and I can get 4.5-5 lb of organic white quinoa for under $14, I think. Though we buy from a membership warehouse store, so it's going to be cheaper than any regular store.

Currently reading up on Pi Hole.

^ And here I thought you were keeping with the food tangent when you mentioned Pi Hole :p (I love it).
I wasn't quite sure how to segue into that. I came across Pi Hole maybe two years ago but didn't think about it much until someone on this site brought it up. It may have been @SandboxGeneral. Trying to see if it's worth setting up for our home network to relegate ad blocking extensions into the trash bin, so to speak.

I currently have UBO/UBlock Origin deployed with some standard lists and a custom one. The extension's performance is a lot better than AdBlock Plus which I'd used since early 2006. I didn't believe the performance charts UBO touted until I tried it myself. The other option is setting up each computer's (or the router) DNS to go through AdGuard servers and pick off ads like that, but I'd rather use something I can monitor myself.

And to go off topic, try chia seeds in dark cakes or cookies. You don't need a lot. I'd add them in with the dry ingredients over the wet portion so they don't clump up.

Never know what you're going to learn about on MR, do you?! I'd never heard of Chia Pudding until this thread..... Not sure I'd enjoy it, but it's interesting to hear about anyway!
I had not heard of it either up until last summer '17, I believe. I'd read it before years ago but wasn't sure what it was. I was familiar with chia seeds because for years I'd buy a drink a few times a week at a store on my way to work. It was lightly sweetened juice or fruity herbal tea chock full of chia seeds. I bought the seeds later and would mix them with some warm water and fill it up with juice or coffee and consume it. With dairy, coconut or almond milk, it turns into a very thick pudding unlike the juice or plain water/coffee. You can also mix it into yogurt and it'll take on a nice thick texture.

I use it a few times a week in the same method and sometimes if I'll have toast with spread or porridge (oatmeal) I'll sprinkle crushed flax seed with fresh fruit.

Same. But if I eat 5 puddings a year I’d be surprised. More of a savoury person.

I have porridge most days. In fact Mrs AFB will be making mine in about half an hour when my day starts.

Really enjoy throwing in some cocoa powder and sultanas for that sweet-sour-bitter flavor. It works well. Savory porridge is nice, too. Heat up some of last night's roast and throw on some gooey cheese like brie or some sharp cellar cheddar. Mmm.

I had never heard of it, either, and still don't quite know what it is.

Had pleasant dreams and thoughts of Mother last night.

I love the Pi-Hole. I have it set up at home, in the cloud paired with OpenVPN for when I'm mobile and I have it deployed on my office network.

UBO is probably one of the best browser extensions out there that will do a lot of what Pi-Hole can do. (If you're a Chrome user, UBO is about to become neutered when Google restricts the use of their API in a future update). Pi-Hole can bring you to the next level over UBO or in combination with it. I ran both at the same time for a while and when I stopped using UBO, I saw the statistics on Pi-Hole increase as it started picking up the slack left behind by the absence of UBO.

This is just a snapshot of the last 24 hours. I haven't been online a lot so the numbers are lower than if I were online and browsing around a lot more. I am blocking over 3.4 million known ad networks, malicious domains, tracking domains and much much more.

It's quite easy to use and set up for someone who is at least mildly technically inclined. Once it's running and you add blocklists and tailor your whitelists and blacklists, its pretty much hands-free from there.

Pi-hole? Sounds like the sort of company @Doctor Q would run!

Did anyone see the TV show named Pushing Daisies? It ran in 2007 to 2009. It was about a pie-maker, played by Lee Pace, and it was hilarious. The premise was so goofy that it just had to be great:

A pie-maker, with the power to bring dead people back to life, solves murder mysteries with his alive-again childhood sweetheart, a cynical private investigator, and a lovesick waitress.
The pie shop was named The Pie Hole.

Definitely another vote for Chia seeds here.

Very versatile.
Also as a thickener to make jam… bake biscuits…

Did I say I'm a fan? ;)

Finally had it with a person, my patience, compassion and attention have limits.
This is good, been too irritated for too long, on this situation. Letting go :)
Sometimes it comes to that.
We often don't take care of ourselves and let others get away with overstepping boundaries.

I just let things die away, not always necessary to be dramatic and confrontational… I just… let them… slip away.

Any place but here or there....
What’s on my mind?

The sound advice ex-supervisor gave me today re: job interview.

And how much we loved the personal sized ‘very berry’ tart from Paris Baguette (the tart was a very dense shortbread cookie, crowned with a mound of whipped cream and big, fat berries (blueberries, blackberries and strawberries). I could have eaten of bowl of the berries and cream. Not sweet, just fresh and delicious.

Ex supe loved her tart which made me happy. It just so happened one of the staff at this PB was just putting these out for sale when I came in. I was glad I went there, even if this branch doesn’t sell the chocolate coconut milk chia pudding.

BTW that and my nice Chicken, potatoes and string beans I had for lunch, I am in a slight food coma. Now all I can think about is getting home and taking a long, hot bath.

@Apple fanboy @arkitect I’m soooo beyond trying anything more with this person.
I have taken care of myself, and nobody have overstepped anything. None of us have. No blame, no drama. Just a very intense and strong passionate meeting that had its time, and didn’t go where I hoped. It have slipped....further and further.
Now it’s just time to totally leave attention, expectations, and whatever hope I had left together with the irritation, frustration that have been there. It was not just meant to be more then a very transforming meeting. It sure have been. I will probably be grateful for it too when I have cut off all emotional attachment.
A feeew hours of meditation....later :)

I really like chia seeds, chia bread is very nice too.

Yes we all need to see some people need to slip away; bound, gagged and tied to an anchor - under the waves....:p

Yes, agreed.

Sometimes, rather than suspending or severing such relationships, it may be better to allow them to wither away. Naturally.

Yes, but with his method there's little chance of a body being found. Especially if you go into deep sea territory.

Haha, I think I am in a very good place, considering. No wishes of anything to eat up this person. Pigs or hungry things at sea. But thanks for the laugh :D
In fact, those that I really have passionately loved stays in a way in my heart, always, after I’ve detached emotionally.
There were some #@%? from younger age that was not real love though, but karma usually plays out, at sea or with hungry animals perhaps.
