Had to explain to a person that chastity belts were not used in the Middle Ages, and even then they’re more myth than reality as many “medieval torture devices”. Sometimes fiction (and movies) destroys actual history.

No, I didn’t convince the person despite bringing some evidence for further research.

Well do enjoy whatever you decide.
Thank you.

I have just booked lunch (provisionally) in the award winning restaurant where I dined last week; bless them, even though they are almost always booked out, they somehow find a way to fit me in at short notice, and always thank me for thinking of them.

We shall probably pay a visit to the cemetery, as well, as Mother's birthday is in August.

Well that sounds a good way to spend some quality time together.

Yeah I’m back tomorrow after 2.5 weeks off, not looking forward to it if I’m honest. I need to consider my options in the coming months.
That’s a long time off. I don’t think I’ve booked more than 5 days off in a row since I joined this company 15 years ago. Hopefully your first day back isn’t to brutal.

I usually have 2 weeks abroad at this time of year, I need the break. I made sure I was completely disconnected from the place, so it’ll be fun dealing with the idiots tomorrow no doubt lol. I usually go back with a very no nonsense attitude after a break as I’ve had time to process things.

Just done a couple of hours to start the week. Good luck with it.

You should consider a longer break for a change.
Never going to happen. We don’t go away on holiday, so taking two weeks off isn’t going to work.
Plus I’d just end up logging in and working if I did that.
Instead I’m having a lot of 4 day weeks this year. I have extra holiday days to use up as it’s part of my long service.

Apparently, as a society, we have gone from "Real Housewives of Atlantis" to "Real Murders of Atlantis".
So, there were "Fake Murders of Atlantis"???
I have no idea what these programmes you speak off. Our house is a reality TV free zone. Always has been. Always will be.
The thing that amazes me is they have a paid channel for this crap. I mean they couldn’t pay me enough to watch it!

Haven’t seen it, but the name have flashed by I think.

The fake murders might symbolize internet and its part of anonymity and whatever so-called privacy shared on anonymous places. I find that pretty hilarious though.

Exactly.

My position (and view) is exactly the same.

Absolutely extraordinary.

Even more extraordinary is that people will actually choose to pay money (and time) to watch this rubbish.
I mean they couldn’t pay me enough to watch it!
Amen to this and completely agree.

Oof. Rough couple of days abroad. My partner came down with pretty bad food poisoning late last night, after we both ate at a small restaurant in Lisbon. We ordered similar things (though his had chicken in it and mine didn't, so that's a possible culprit), though I am fine thankfully. A bit of a language barrier at the emergency room this morning (since his symptoms weren't going away and we were worried about dehydration), but they were all really helpful and it gave me a chance to use my (admittedly limited and Brazilian) Portuguese. He's feeling better now--but it's always scary when a loved one gets suddenly acutely ill and you're in a foreign country.
