Cats do what cats do. Go figure. 😺
We see them as pets, but they really are half wild, and half human manipulators.
They enjoy the luxury of having food served free of effort, a comforting place to sleep when and if they wish so, in combination of some scratching and cat-pleasing at times.
But make no mistakes, if they are half-outdoorsy cats, they indeed remember their wildness and that is a different cat than the one lying in the couch purring and looks cute.
They can return to a lot more wild anytime they want it, and simply disappear when they get tired of the humans and have other pressing matters to do. Not uncommon that they totally vanish when there are on the edge of dying either, if they are part outdoorsy cats.

For sure. I had a large-ish Calico years ago. "Bagel". He was a polydactyl and special in many ways. It was fascinating to watch the difference in his personality depending on whether he was inside or outside. He like to climb trees. As Mr Bojangles said: After 40 years, I still grieve.

My grown daughter's cat is an indoor cat. In many ways that is safer (indoor cats live longer than ones allowed outside). However, keeping a cat indoors has its downside. The neighbour's cat is a provocateur and likes to taunt my daughter's cat from the safety of the outdoors. All my daughter's cat can do is look out the window in a murderous rage. I thought the cat was psycho until I understood what was going on.

Yeah, inside only can be that way but if there's a big house the cat usually can find places to explore and patrol.

My father made a flap in a basement window so he could come and go but he still liked for us to open the kitchen door to let him out. I think he liked the service. :)

In a coffee shop.
Earlier today, for a lovely lunch, I met with a cousin whom I hadn't seen for well over a year; we ate in an excellent Italian place that we both like and thoroughly enjoyed both the chat and the actual lunch (soup, homemade, salads - excellent - mineral water, sparkling, and coffee, also excellent).

Back in the 60's, when my family lived in the US, my parents fitted a cat flap on the basement door so our cats could explore the outdoors whenever they wanted. Then one night there was an almighty racket coming from the basement. My parents went down and found 2 raccoons, a possum, a black rat snake, a chipmunk, a couple hundred fleas, the neighbor's cat, and our cats, with all but the fleas having a melee over whose territory the basement was. After that, we just let our cats out by opening the door for them....

:D

I was in suburbia so nothing more fearsome than the occasional squirrel or bunny. I do remember coming home one day to find Bagel and several of his friends sitting on the couch and side chairs. Like people. They all scrammed and Bagel looked at me like "You spoiled my party".

Well, the fleas are very ecumenical, caring, and sharing, munching on all the mammals without discrimination. Except for the snake, which would have had mites under its scales.

Just pondering a certain plane crash, in which a certain person, who was on the manifest, may or may not have been on board, and therefore, may or may not have been killed.

It reminds me of Catch 22, where one of the characters (can't remember which), needed to acquire more flying hours, so he got himself on the manifest of a bomber, but didn't actually get on board. The plane went down, so the character was 'killed', but was still there on the ground. Confusion abounds, as was normal for Catch 22.

There are so many variables in this thing that we'll probably never know unless a certain person miraculously reappears. If said person does, he should probably find a very deep hole to hide in. Hey this is fun. :)

Let me just say the obvious answer to this "mystery" may not the the actual one as there are many possible parties.
The plane was at cruising altitude (20,000+ feet) and the only things that can reach that altitude are weapons like this:

Not many people have them in the middle of Russia. Occam's Razor. The most obvious answer is usually the right answer.

Got a home delivery at about 25-27 kg, and the big guy asked if I could take the boxes at my door - yes, I said, and he handed over two big boxes.
They were heavy, but I didn't collapse of the weight on the way to the kitchen with them.

My basic fitness level is pretty high. But more weight in the gym after I got going some more with the spinning first. It’s heart rate condition I want to improve first.

My own home gym, with all sorts of equipment, have served me well it seems.

Enjoying a great Espresso now as well - why post in different threads, when we can summarize in this 🥳

And fighter jets.

However, the company that makes the jet (Embraer) has been following sanctions on Russia, so for now an accident due to incomplete maintenance cannot be ruled out. I suspect we'll never know for sure. I don't really care about the Wagner staff on board, but feel sorry for the families of the crew. They'll never be able to trust the official story. Strange times...

Right. Fighters too.

From the video, it looks like a wing came off. Not a typical failure, even for a poorly maintained airplane. The wings are, naturally, the strongest part of a plane. Only a "boom" would break a wing off.

Agree about the crew. I had the same thought.

The post office informs me that they have two packages to deliver tomorrow.

That's the good news. The bad news is that tomorrow is Friday and that's a very bad day as far as the post office actually delivering packages. Tracking will show the package is on the truck and "out for delivery".........and in a sense that's true, but sometimes it isn't delivered until some time the following week.

So as of today they have two packages that are supposed to show up tomorrow......we'll see what happens

The problem with any manifests is that your good ideas and intentions can be easily "hijacked" by bad actors and diverted towards a bad goal if you are not smart enough to really understand the game with all its underwater rocks. People seem to think that it is "enough" to just be "patriots". It is not. The January 6 is a prime example.

It is a normal security practice to check in on one flight and use a completely different one.
