Sigh.....After some delightful time with windows open, just wonderful natural fresh air and no A/C on, when I really enjoyed our "Indian Summer" warm spell wrapping up the month of October, I finally had to surrender today when the weather abruptly turned much colder and we have a freeze warning on for overnight.....
Windows closed, the house getting undeniably chillier, I finally bit the bullet today and turned the HVAC system from "Cool" to "Heat". Yeah, OK, it feels much better in here already! I've got it set a bit higher than I will normally keep it, just to get that chill off. If past Novembers have been any indication, there will be a few sporadic nice, maybe even warm days still yet to come, but for the most part, yep, we're really into autumn all the way now. It will be even more noticeable this coming weekend when we in the US make our big changeover from daylight savings to standard time the way you guys across the Big Pond already have done.....
Just a few days ago I was out with my camera and wearing cropped pants and a short-sleeved tee, just sandals on my feet, no socks needed; today required long pants, socks and not only a long-sleeved shirt but also a hoodie for warmth..... How fickle Autumn can be!
