In a coffee shop.
Indeed! But I suspect the result is already known.
Well, then, I shall follow it with (avid) interest, and take considerable pleasure from the outcome.

Nevertheless, I will willingly admit that on other, considerably less agreeable nights, I failed to stay the course, taking myself off to bed at an earlier hour, once the dismal and regrettable outcome had become clear.

Tonight, methinks that a beer, or a glass, or three, from a nice bottle of wine (and I have yet to decide on whether Grape or Grain will be called upon to accompany me into the small hours) may be in order.

Do enjoy. I’ll be sticking with tea as usual.

I had a bad start to my day.

First of all my alarm woke me up. That’s very unusual for me. Probably only happens a few times a year.

Then I realised I didn’t seat my Apple Watch properly on its charger. So I was out of charge at the start of the day. Not good when I’m trying to hit a certain daily target.

So now I’m only 3/4 through my goal instead of where I should be.

Yes I know. First world problems…..

Interesting that you guys are having an election today while here on the other side of the Big Pond we are celebrating our independence!
Happy Independence day! I celebrated on Tuesday, well because we bring our (America) students every semester to the US Mission to the UN and other IOs here in Geneva, I get invited to the party. Good food, sliders, tacos, chicken fingers, crabcakes and coleslaw. I stuck to soft drinks as I was heading back to work afterwards but there was all sort of big breweries and also artisanal beers (and California wine) available. The theme was baseball with a fake diamond films of the baseball greats etc. Of course all diplomatic staff are off today which is why the party was on 2 July.

All the best thoughts for our UK friends as this is a rather important night...

Indeed! Honestly, I don't really care--I personally am not celebrating much. No big parties planned. I am not watching, nor am I shooting off, any fireworks. I've just been chilling at home, as my parents are shopping for a new car.
Oh and no one remembered Canada Day on Monday...well I didn't mention it myself.
I remember being in Quebec City on Canada Day in 2013. I had no idea what was happening, or why there were big celebrations--but it turns out it was for that very holiday. That's one of the only things I remember from that trip--it was fun, just not very eventful.

Just did some reading-up on the current scene in the UK with today's election and such......

Wow... OK, it looks as though you lot are also going to be in for a very interesting few months over the next little while! Overall, though, just from my reading and of course my perspective of being someone from another country and not involved in the current election situation over there anyway, that this could be a very refreshing (albeit in the beginning, potentially difficult but in the end good?) change for you and your country?.....

Due to the nature of the conversation I’ll just say no comment!

But yes interesting times ahead both sides of the pond.

On the other hand, it's boring here. No elections planned, just a week of on-again, off-again rain.
But, then again, boring is good. It means no wars, revolutions, plagues, volcanoes, earthquakes, [insert favourite calamity here...]

Currently trying to work out how to upgrade home Internet from 100 to 250 Mbps and pay less money.

Thank you! It's not a milestone one -- that major one will come along in a few more years. Just now, though, things here are, shall we say, a bit unsettled at the moment, so it is going to be an interesting next several months.
The people who own the house keep putting on Fox News lately. He always watched CNN but without Xfinity cable service, it all works differently. Every few minutes they'll say something to scare the public.

You know that Chinese expression (whether it was/is observation, blessing, or curse, I have never quite worked out): May you live in interesting times.

Well, yes, I think that we are living in interesting times.

However, my beer is going down rather well....

Moreover, this is the sort of night when I remember just exactly why I do rather like the BBC.....

People on the next street have illegal, professional fireworks. I know that the police won't do anything, even if they're called.

I'm hoping that the veterans in the neighbourhood aren't losing their minds right now. A little poetic justice wouldn't hurt.

For me, having enjoyed my beer, (well, my beers), earlier tonight, a coffee might now be in order.....
