It's also wet, gray, and pretty cold here in northern Wisconsin. Got one and a half inches of rain in the last day. I grew up in the Southwest, and so I am used to hot, dry, and sunny days year-round.

You can keep it. Not a fan of sushi.
I love sushi, just as I love (almost) all Asian cuisine.

However, despite what my driver told me, actually, volunteered, I hadn't asked - that sushi is to be had - when I was collected at the airport a few weeks ago, I didn't expect to see it in the regions.

Wow.
Here I’m cold and miserable. Which is what happens when you are sick and due back to work tomorrow after a week off.
Good luck with your health and with work.
It’s a wet and dull day in the UK. Not that I’ve been outside in days.
War, dry and sunny here.

I hope there isn’t war there!

Using local fresh fish or imported standards (tuna, salmon, etc,)?
Somewhat to my surprise, the local (fresh) fish (as I discovered on my first visit here, shortly after the war, more than a quarter of a century ago), - above all, bream and squid - is - are - astonishingly good.

Now, I think that the imported 'standards' also apply when the subject under discussion is sushi.

Just submitted my proof for the EDU discount on Dorico Pro. Can get a STEEP discount because they offer an EDU + crossgrade option (since I own Sibelius Ultimate) so I can get Dorico for an even further discount than what they usually offer. Steinberg's ongoing sale does not apply to this, unfortunately. But $200 for the Pro version is great, in my opinion!

Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Cubase; there is no EDU discount plus a crossgrade discount on top of it like there is for Dorico. But I'm fine with Cubase Elements for now—I hardly ever use it anyway.
My needs are rather limited, writing scores for one ukulele
And for that, I'm using Stave 'n Tabs.

That's totally fair! People have recommended Musescore as a free alternative, but apparently it crashes all the time, and I've had a lot of friends actually lose assignments because of Musescore crashing. So nope, not giving into that!!

Wish I could continue using Sibelius Ultimate, cause it's honestly a very good program, but Avid wants me to pay them $100 for "renewing" a PREPAID license (and therefore it wasn't actually a prepaid license, they just said it was).

Sounds a bit greedy from Avid's side, I do understand your frustration.

In a coffee shop.
Enjoyed (and yes, this verb has been used quite deliberately) a four hour car journey through incredibly scenic countryside (mountains, rivers, ancient towns) in order to attend a (pre-scheduled) meeting.

Nursed mosquito bites (the winged menaces adore me, it is one of those asymmetrical relationships, they love me, I hate them), and devoured a few delicious espressos, along with homemade lemonade and sparkling mineral water.

I was filling out a survey about volunteer work, and one question was about how many weekly hours you volunteer. If you volunteer for 10 hours a week, there's no answer for you to choose!

Watching my cat. Speaking to my cat. Only one ear twitches (the closest one to me).
Is that all I'm worth, after all the food, beds and warm chairs to occupy? Just one ear?????

Also, thinking about cats. Is it just me, or do science fiction/fantasy writers tend towards cats (those who aren't writing about dragons).
Cordwainer Smith's pinlighting cats, and C'Mell, still one of my favourite heroines of all genera.
And Robert Heinlein's Pixel(The Cat who walked through Walls) and Pete (The Door into Summer). Anyone who has ever been staff for cats knows Pete.

What is on my mind is how the effects (the after effects) of a war, or conflict, linger long after the formal end of a conflict (such as an accord, or peace treaty, a date often found in history books, or works of political analysis), and continue to have an enduring effect on people's lives, decades later.

Today I laid eyes on a legendary, quite exquisitely beautiful bridge, an historic bridge, one dating back centuries, and the inspiration for one of the great works of literature from this region.

Maybe (OK, probably) it's just me, but the title of this thread, "What's on Your Mind?" seems to imply something very different from "how (or what) are you doing today?" Yes, a matter of semantics and also, I'll admit that I do tend to be literal..... For me, whatever is on my mind is usually in a different category from whatever I'm actually physically doing or how I am feeling physically or emotionally.

So that's what's on my mind! :)
