Congratulations. You have +20 on me and Mrs AFB.We're having our 46th Wedding anniversary today
Sun is shining here. But not especially warm. Mower on charge. I expect it might be the last mow of the year.
Congratulations. You have +20 on me and Mrs AFB.We're having our 46th Wedding anniversary today
Wonderful; congratulations, and do enjoy. We're having our 46th Wedding anniversary today
Congratulations!! 46 years is a long time! We're having our 46th Wedding anniversary today
Commiserations.Think I’ve caught a cold (not surprising). Though glad it happened AFTER the choir concert instead of before. Lots of water and ibuprofen in store.
Sorry to hear about your father, but I bet he had a marriage full of love.Wonderful; congratulations, and do enjoy.
My father died one month before his 45th wedding anniversary, and - at the time of his death, and under his instructions - we were planning how and where to celebrate the anniversary.
My mother refused to cancel the reservation we had at an excellent (award-winning, starred) restaurant, and simply instead took us all - treated us - there to a stunning dinner to celebrate his life instead.
It sounds as though the situation there is as bad as it is here in our Southern states (in our case, due to Hurricane Helene). I've seen headlines about deaths in the areas around where you are, too. Water -- floodwaters in particular -- can be so damaging to property and can indeed take lives.Commiserations.
I'm currently nursing a cold, as well, - one of those chesty and nasal things.
Floods, landslides, and blocked (and, in some cases, destroyed) roads have cost lives, and - of professional relevance to me - served to delay the election in some of the regions of the country where I am currently observing an election.
We will have to see how we can best proceed.
He did.Sorry to hear about your father, but I bet he had a marriage full of love.
Do enjoy and I hope you have a wonderful time.My wife and I are not restaurant people, but we'll enjoy our own homemade veggies ;-)
Hope today is the worst of it. Tested negative for COVID but I have a fever.Think I’ve caught a cold (not surprising). Though glad it happened AFTER the choir concert instead of before. Lots of water and ibuprofen in store.
Best of luck with your recovery.Hope today is the worst of it. Tested negative for COVID but I have a fever.
I actually NEED to get better quick cause we’re putting on a massive performance next weekend with all 17 large ensembles, and we have many rehearsals next week.
That is rough and I am sorry to hear it.I’m still not 100% from three weeks ago. To put it into context that’s the longest I think I’ve ever been sick in my life.
I’m 95% there, but it’s still lingering. I’ve not been off work or anything. I was on holiday for the worst couple of days anyway.
The poor thing.Mrs AFB is slightly worse than me, but on a similar trajectory.
Wince. The awful weather isn’t making it any better though. Cold wet and miserable all day.
Well, enjoy what you can of Paris - it is a terrific city, one I love.Sadly it’s a 7 day week this week. Off to Paris on Friday for a couple of days. No site seeing though. I’ll be working long hours at the Paris photography show.
Enjoy. At least I’m off the following week!
I’ve been to Paris before, but not for decades. I’m unlikely to see much other than the exhibition hall and the hotel. That is rough and I am sorry to hear it.
The poor thing.
Wince.
Agreed.
Apart from the long days, summer appeared to be some sort of fantasy, cold and miserable, and, from what I read (for I have been mercifully abroad for over a month) this awful weather is what has passed for normal for the past few months.
My sympathies.
I am not looking forward to my return - not at all.
Well, enjoy what you can of Paris - it is a terrific city, one I love.
And the food is amazing, even in the most basic of bistros, or cafés.
Enjoy.
Fair enough.I’ve been to Paris before, but not for decades. I’m unlikely to see much other than the exhibition hall and the hotel.
I did consider tagging a day on at the end for some time in the City, but decided to head home instead. I’ve already had two short breaks this year as well as several work trips.
Not really wanting to spend any more time apart from Mrs AFB
Here watching MOTD2 whilst trying out to think about work in the morning.
What brand/model is it? Yamaha? Steinway? Mason and Hamlin? Good grand pianos can fetch a LOT - I mean a LOT of money. I happen to just have a Yamaha upright back home, so nothing particularly fancy. University has mostly Steinway model Ms and a few Yamaha C7s, and of course Model Ds on the stages.I’ve decided to sell the grand piano my daughter used. Does anyone know what the middle peddle is for? It is in perfect condition, perfect I say. Not a blemish on it. 🤷🏼♂️
I would agree! I think the food in Europe is a million times better than in America.Well, enjoy what you can of Paris - it is a terrific city, one I love.
And the food is amazing, even in the most basic of bistros, or cafés.
Not long. Fly out Friday morning. Straight from the airport to the show.Fair enough.
I hope you enjoy your trip in any case; it is one of the world's great cities.
How many days - how long - will you be staying in Paris?
Fair enough. Not long. Fly out Friday morning. Straight from the airport to the show.
Then all day Saturday at the show.
Sunday at the show until I leave to catch my flight.
The show is 9 am to 7 pm hence not going to see much of the City.
