the chat history files are saved in the Documents folder of WhatsApp. You just copy them, and then when u install it again later, u just replace the stuff in Documents folder with ur backup.

In still running .13 and have no issues. Notifications etc all work. Will keep this version until the official one is out.

But it seems to drain my battery quite a bit more than the official version.

Lack of notifications using Beta

Anyone else having issues with notifications on the beta? Sometimes i get them, but randomly i don't, and i don't see messages till i open it up, and i see that I've missed tons.
Solutions?

I think you may have done a clean install. You need to install on top of the existing app. Then notifications all work.

That was my experience. I had a similar problem and got it resolved.

Sandboxing. Apps not installed via App Store is sand-boxed hence does not connect to push servers.
