I don't understand what's gained with all the mystery about "will they release xxxx or won't they".
I think the "mystery" is more a product of anxious speculation--and possibly insider leaks--than Apple's marketing practices.

Yes, I am looking forward to replacing my 10.5" Pro, but whether it happens next week or next month does not matter much.

Product speculation is part of Apple's brand... comes with the territory.

And that's what we are explaining... the release date doesn't matter to us; we just want it announced.

I'm actually more curious to see what the new keyboards look like, as opposed to the new iPad.
What do you want improved on the current Magic Keyboard? And supposedly there's going to be a new Apple Pencil too.

Larger trackpad of course. The trackpad is almost unusable for me. A row of funtion keys. I know, I know just get a Macbook Air. But I want built-in cellular service, as well as the flexibility of the touch screen and no keyboard when I want it.

edit: I’d also like too see an Apple plain old folio (no keyboard) that allows, for different viewing angles.

Its supposed to be some sort of aluminum, per rumors. I think that looks and feels nicer. The polyurethane material its made out of now feels "cheap" and slimy. I never cared for polyurethane cases. But I imagine it will be a little heavier.

Personally I'm leaning towards next week for the new iPads to be announced and although there won't be a physical event there still could be a small video like what Apple did with the 10th Generation iPad and M2 iPad Pros.

It is day 4,053 without the oled iPad pros announcement, my need to give Apple 1k+ is waning.
I was wondering how many of us might feel the same. I go back and forth, thinking my M1 iPad Pro is working well. I’m also thinking are the upgrades of the M3 truly with it vs. my M1.

Maybe I’ll step back, and wait to order until I can see one in person with the new keyboard. I think Apple’s stalled introduction of the M3 iPad Pro won’t hurt them at all. But I’m still disappointed in the slow-mo introduction.

I think it more of people of older iPads before M1 need to upgrade far more than ones already got M1 plus iPad. Mine is 1st generation iPad Pro 9.7. I haven't decided upgrade to iPad Air or iPad Pro but I want Apple finally announce it so I can decide based on spec and price and storage etc. If you remember when first 1st generation iPad Pro 9.7 was released as normal iPad price (same as iPad Air and iPad Air was temporarily paused before they brought it back). So I never had to spend that much money on iPad before. Current iPad Pro is LOT of money compared one I paid for back 2016!

Same... my M1 iPP is working well, I see no signs of sluggishness. I could easily bypass an upgrade, but the idea of passing up a redesign iPad Pro will be a tough thing to do.

I personally don't think the keyboard will see any drastic changes... perhaps some dedicated keys and upgraded port.

I think that if I were considering upgrading from an M1 I’d wait to see what features I’d be missing out on if I didn’t get the M3. If all M models had about the same features, I’d save my money for the M4. But that’s easy for me to say, because I have the M2. Surely Apple won’t leave that too far behind, although I am concerned how much more powerful the neural engine on the m3 will be when it comes to AI.

Anyone else with the 2018 11 inch pro waiting to upgrade? I don’t even need to upgrade tbh since it’s running just fine but I want to upgrade to the 13 inch :)

Yeah, that's my thought process as well.

But I think if are looking at it in terms of M3 features... I don't think Apple would be in the position to announce those features with this upcoming iPad Pro. I think they would hold off until this year's WWDC (or next year).

At this point, they are selling the hardware and I think they would market the M3 being faster overall compared to previous models... but it won't be any specific features tied to the chip (at least not yet).

I had a 2018 11inch pro and it was only starting to show its age and the back end of last year so I chopped it in for a new 12.9" Pro only to see that a major redesign was penned for Q1 2024 so I returned the 12.9" one and have been without for 6 months so really looking forward to having M3 performance compared to the original 2018 one!

having both models 11 and 12'9 are you going with the 13' OLED model?

Assuming both new sizes have similar OLED screen (and that the 12.9" with Magic Keyboard isn't over £2000), I'd probably go for the bigger one as my main use case is media consumption.
That said, I am concerned that the bigger one may not play nice on airplane/train tray tables which is an issue.
