why are people so desperate for a iPad, you are just buying a big iPhone, no iPhone's?
not gonna do anything different than current iPads lol

Same reason you have a 24 inch iMac instead of a smaller one- size matters! As well as what you can do with it.🤓 Myself, I love split screen multitasking, although not all that many apps support it. And when I watch movies if I’m not in front of a TV, I prefer an iPad Screen to the tiny one on a phone.

Still too small for split screen. Didn’t know they sell a smaller iMac.

That might have been true 10 years ago but the pen was gamechanging enough that the usecase for the iPad is beyond that now. I plan to use mine for taking notes and digital art, for example.

have a feeling the annoucement is the 18th or 19th - monday/tuesday
that puts it in the rumored end of the month timeframe for release

Tbf, Gurman modified the rumor for a March or April release.

But I agree with you... doesn't appear we are getting any iPad announcements this week.

Agree. Maybe even the 25th, with an early April release.

I’m still holding on for today at 1EST / 10PST … I feel like that would make more sense if they’re doing a preorder this Friday situation for delivery next Friday.

For me, as much as I want the new iPad, it's the not knowing more than the actual time.
Would be nice if it was announced this week or next, even if they don't start shipping until the end of the month.

Same here. I have to sort out the iPad this year so the decision will be between a new battery for the iPad Pro 10.5 or a new iPad, which depends on the specs and pricing of the Air and Pro line-up. I will examine all of the pros and cons and make a decision, but first I have to know what they will actually be releasing so what I'm really eagerly anticipating is not the actual iPad release, but the info needed to start making a decision.

Agreed! They could announce it now... with a late April release and I'll be okay with that.

Which brings me back to what I said in the thread about Gurman saying there would be no event announcing the new Airs or iPads. While some were happy about that, I mentioned how I missed there being an event / time that would announce when we are definitively getting new products. I really wish Apple even did a one person short video just laying out a release schedule, and leaving it to customers to read the press releases for more info.

I don't understand what's gained with all the mystery about "will they release xxxx or won't they".

Bet Timmo is laughing his socks off at all the speculation over the release of the new iPads

This has probably already been said, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to me if the iPad’s unveiling comes after the expiration of the returns period for day one MacBook Airs. These two devices occupy a very significant overlap in each other’s space, and one imagines Apple would prefer to minimise the buyer’s remorse Air returns by timing the iPad Pro accordingly. Especially as the Air has screen technology from another age.
Wholeheartedly agree with this 👆 I didn’t consider this angle before. If true, March 25/26 will be the announcement then. I hope I’m wrong and it’s next week though

As I mentioned in some thread earlier I'm going to be on the road, and was planning to just have the M3 iPad Pro delivered to my local Apple Store. But, they only hold it for 7 days.

So plan "B" might be pass through Minneapolis and see what they get in stock when it is finally released. But, I do plan to up the specs. of RAM and SSD, so I suppose it would be less likely they would have my preferred configuration in stock. I guess I could call a Minneapolis Apple Store and see if they have what I want in stock. Any recommendations of the best Apple Store in Minneapolis?

Desperate times call for desperate measures! 🤪

PS. I'm almost afraid to visit an Apple Store before the release of the M3 iPad Pro. The allure of the M3 MacBook Air or M3 MacBook Pro might just get to me. I could then just keep my M1 iPad Pro.
