Gurman said something ‘bigger’ was likely to be announced this week compared to last week. But that can be anything given the M3 MBA was simply a chip upgrade. A 12.9in iPad Air would be a bigger announcement I suppose.

Maybe the 5am product announcement was a accidental early announcement, cause they have never done that before 🤷
Please don’t forget that you’re here in the most extreme iPad Pro Echo chamber you can be in. The general public doesn’t care much the iPad Pros, most people buy the cheapest iPad available, at least that’s what it looks like in the EU.
I would also say that the iPad is in a rather bad place, its numbers are down 25% yoy and it has an identity crisis. I’m unsure if a new (more expensive) iPad Pro helps there, but I like the excitement here. Maybe this time Apple will show us a clear vision for the new iPad Pros… although I hoped the same in 2018…
Hoping for the former, but trying to prepare myself for the latter.
This rollercoaster of anticipation and disappointment is certainly adding to the excitement.

We still got 44 minutes until it’s the same time as MBA last week with DST change so there’s still time today for an announcement if they’re doing same pattern.
Thought the same but wouldn't it make much more sense if they introduce the more expensive iPad Pro first? If they show the new, larger but ultimately cheaper iPad Air first, a few customers would jump to buy the Air instead of the 13" Pro? So they can say "look, that's the new amazing OLED iPad Pro and it's $200 more expensive BUT for everyone who wants to have a bigger iPad there's now the $799 iPad Air 12.9"?"
Come on Apple!! I been patient too long. I been waiting new iPads since March 2023! I didn’t expect no iPads at all 2023. My iPad Pro 9.7 is getting too old, battery life poor and struggle keep up. My patient slowly running out.
Fair play! I've been waiting since August last year and that's felt like an eternity without an iPad.
In the grand scheme of things its only going to be a week or 2 but Macrumors et al got us all hyped last week saying stuff was coming.

And I may be wrong here, but I recall… both Gurman and some known leaker said that there would be no Mac events nor Mac releases before the end of last year.
And suddenly Apple gave us some never-before night event. It was announced that Tuesday on Oct. 24th with the event held on the 30th. So, I think Gurman might not be in the “know” as we are led to believe… because he said last week there will be accessories released not a major product.

TBF Apple are so far behind planet Earth on OLED deployment that a few extra days here or there won’t move the needle on anything. Samsung will probably announce micro-LED the day before. Lol.

Not for me the iPad pros, I already have and love an M2 and I won’t be updating for a while. But I’m really hoping to see the minis!
I’m very much in an OLED mood at the moment. The new 32in 4K 240hz QD-OLED monitors have my name on them as well.
