We don't currently know what the full details of this "special iPadOS" entails. If this "special" OS is significantly different that the current OS, there would be merit to function to cost. Otherwise Apple would have had the M3 iPad Pro on the website last week.

As far as EU prices, that's not on Apple. The dollar to Euro conversion is not something Apple can change.
Is this ‘special’ iPad OS based on what Gurman recently said or something else for iPad OS 18? Maybe I missed it but i interpreted his comment as they just need to make some tweaks for the new hardware and nothing more.

Regarding exchange rates. Apple are always the biggest offender versus other technology companies. Apple even makes Nvidia appear generous, which is truly amazing. Hopefully the based 13in Pro doesn’t increase in the UK as the rate has improved but who knows…

That is only partially true, while Apple can't change the exchange rate, when they're selling something for $1,099 but also £1,099 that's a bit naff.
1100USD is currently around 865GBP, now I understand taxes exist and other costs to sell in the UK, but £250 excess is infuriating.

Except that it's not far off in the UK, VAT in the UK is 20% so that 1100 USD is 1320 USD after tax in the UK which is 1040GBP.

EU countries actually have it worse with a difference after taxes of around €100-120.

The pricing also assumes the same living costs and economics etc, which aren’t the same

Come on Apple - launch, launch, laaaaauunnnnchhhh

🤩
I’m leaning towards an announcement on Mon 25th March with a release that Friday or early April. I just have that feeling.… Trying not to get my hopes up for Mon 18th.

I’m still hoping they will have a half hour “event” for the iPads as they did in October for the Mac’s. And that it will include the mini. Hey, a gal can dream, no?

I think most of the hopeless optimists are hoping for an announcement Monday... 🤞🤞
Yeah, but when you have Gurman hedging his predictions such as claiming, "or April." It has me doubting if we will get any announcements in March.

German almost always hedges his predictions in some way. He doesn’t like to be flat-out wrong.

I think all of the next three weeks are ultimately quite plausible. The sooner the better, though, obviously :)

its definitely gonna be a weird launch. the m2 was announced on a Tuesday and in stores the following Wednesday. if rumors of a store refresh on march 28th at night for new products the 29th pan out then we might get a press release next Friday?

Probably not an announcement or release on Easter weekend.

I can't stop laughing at how bad the European pricing would be on this thing. They wouldn't sell a single unit.

'The new 14in iPad Pro starting at 2000 EUR, with the same SHOCKING iPad OS you know and love'.
The iPhone 15 Series went down in price because of the stronger Euro, after the 13 or 14 series went up because of the weak euro. So it's not out of the question that the 2024 iPad Pro will be dow in price as well, the prices we now see are from the M2 variant and that one is from the weaker Euro time.

i am hoping for a larger one, I have a 12,9 M1 now and it's great but I need just a little bit more screen real-estate.
So refreshing the Apple page every(working)day :p

Edit: And if I may dream for a moment, than I would like a iPad Pro with the screen of the 16" MBP. Price I don't care, just make it!
