I was hoping since Leopard is coming out in March with a completely Resolution Independent Interface, Apple might bump the resolution of ALL their computers.
I don't see Apple going out of their way to push pixel density on their iMac LCD's.

Now this is where I think you are being too optimistic. Because, if internet rumours are to be believed, then Santa Rosa is slightly delayed till Q3 2007. And I don't see Apple jumping from Merom to Santa Rosa to Penryn in 2 revisions, (especially on the iMac).
Santa Rosa is a codename for the new Centrino package built around Socket P. It's not a processor. Penryn should be out by late-2007.

This is where you've got me, as I don't really know anything much about RAM roadmaps.
Implemented but expensive until later in 2008.

Yes, it seems quite plausible that Apple might choose to go with a mobile GPU, but is the 8300 GT said to be a DX10 Graphics Card?

What about Blue-Ray and / HD-DVD?
Blu-Ray is burnable right now but I don't see a victor yet.

I like the current design. But I wouldn't mind another color option. Since black is Apples new white I'm guessing that a black iMac wouldn't be a big surprise.
Personally I'd go with a wine red and pearl details, but I don't think that will happend :)

Maybe if the chin were to be removed, Apple will pull an iPhone and just make the border in black: no color options whatsoever.

Although I think white is necessary, myself.

The new iMac will have a slight U-shape - so more of a jaw than a chin!:)

The :apple: logo will be bigger enclosing a 2.5" secondary screen (an Intel idea called Newport) used for checking emails, calendar events, and even maybe play iTunes without having to fire up the whole computer as such.

Apple will announce "the green way forward" with such measures.

An iMac that needn’t be turned on all the time would cut energy bills. Also certain info could be beamed wirelessly to other devices such as :apple: TV whilst in "green" mode.

Sorry to spoil the surprise but I think you should be the first to know!;)

one thing i think might be in the next refresh would be LED LCD monitor. might help make it thinner too.

one thing i'd love to see in the next refresh is a video input or 3. for either game consoles (which i don't do) or TV (which i probably would) or for using it for a laptop (which i certainly would).

another thing i'd like to see is the ability to upgrade the graphics card.

for a different color, how about brushed aluminum like the MBP's? black would be cool too.

and i think a Mac Maxi would be a great idea. like someone said, the mini's are cool, but when you look at what you get, they're pretty wimpy. something beefed up, in a similar design around the price of the imacs would be pretty cool.

I think that they should bring back the iMac G4 design in the next design.

They should mate the G4 with a Intel and come out with a mix of the two. A Bootyless (G4), chinless (Intel) iMac merged into one iMac would be GREAT!

Just calling it Mac wont work as the whole line are Macs.

Mac has a good ring about it, it sounds like a friend rather than a computer - 'Heh Mac, how you doing?' - something that I assume Apple would be all for. And once voice recognition gets going properly this might be exactly how you address your Mac in the morning.
