They have iPad 10.5s @ the BB in Columbus Ga. I went to purchase the 12.9 pro for $699, they didn't have those in stock. The guy did pull down ~ 5 iPad 10.5 pros. He called the district apple rep to see if he could sell me one, the rep said no and they shouldn't have them out at all until the 13th. He couldn't sell me one in advance either :). I did come home and pre order one due for pickup on the 13th.

They cannot sell it, it is not even inventoried yet and more so the sale would get nixed at the register.

That store had better wise up especially if they are out in the open to see and up for sale. AND I still doubt it unless the management there is totally incompetent.

Did you not read my entire post? They did not sell it and the guy moved it from the case, about 10ft up, so you can't just look inside.

Lol, no. I did not even see it and totally missed it after the other person replied to me whom I was commenting to, iF34R.

Anyways, thanks for the info and it is good to see a store getting some in already. BB is my closest resource to buy one, that is my plan on Tuesday unless my store does not get any for some reason.

How were you able to select AT&T Next as the payment option?
The option for AT&T Next is available on both Best Buy and AT&T's website. When you select the product, you pick color, memory size, Wifi or LTE, and the last option is Next. Not sure how you missed it unless they recently removed the option.

I'm not sure why you have to doubt it. I was there, I was shown them, and short of actually buying it, he told me I could get it if I wanted. Whether it would have went through or not is another story and completely irrelevant to what I was even responding to.

I actually remember something similar happening during the Nintendo Switch launch. A Slickdealer's BBY had it out on display early and when he tried to ring it up at the register, it gave an error. The system wouldn't allow him to proceed. Of course, he tried to argue and whine, but that got him nowhere.

I don't think he was doubting you, he was just saying that there was no way BBY was going to let you walk out with that iPad. I kinda wish they did though - would have love to hear your impressions over the weekend :p

That would of helped as folks are flying in the dark with which one they may want to buy. Why stores do not have demos available to look at before release is beyond me. Street date has nothing to do with it.

I never responded to anyone specifically about buying it, just wanted to let the person know who asked you why you did not buy one that it would not have happened.

I know a person in Apple operations, they do not even have them yet. Surprised as hell that BB would have any is why I doubted it.

What the heck. I've been a rewards member for the longest and never received a birthday coupon.

I used to get the Best Buy birthday coupon but have not gotten one for the last year, or two. Don't even see anywhere in my account to add or change the date.

I was able to do an in store pickup tomorrow for a 10.5 space grey a few hours ago. I cannot hold BB to a specific date for pickup though which is what is in the fine print when one preorders an item BUT at least it had tomorrow’s date on my order for pickup.

I did so instead of just showing up tomorrow because the Apple rep there says he does not not think the store will get that many for the first go around.

I ordered 2 for pickup and the order status for both was updated to 'Ready for Pickup June 13th' today. So hopefully they actually have them lol

He means the status of his order was updated today, and the availability for pickup is tomorrow.

I got email confirmation of my order but I only have an estimated pickup date for Tuesday 6/13 at this point.

Damn. Maybe I should've ordered for pickup instead of shipping. My order is still processing.

The option for in store pickup was not available in my area until a short time ago, I kept checking today since the Pros were scheduled for release tomorrow I figured I give it a shot. It is going to vary by location until each one has a definite handle on what they will be receiving.

Odd question, but I've had a huge headache pre-ordering this from BB.com and so I'm curious if anyone else's BB.com order page looks like this... (where it doesn't say usual pick-up date below apple care offer, and is still processing.)

Best Buy's website is all over the place lately (first order was cancelled without notice or legitamate reason,) then second pre-order I made they changed my nearest store's availability right as I was placing/paying for the order... so now I am not sure if they'll stand by the "available Tuesday June 13th" that they said 2 hours ago, as seen above, they say nothing about expected pick-up date now and i'm still in Processing stage not "preparing." :confused:o_O

Kallum.

Best Buy is a big player with Apple stuff these days. I would think bait&switch not.

We have an order to pick up tomorrow. It say's: "Ready for pick up on the 13th".

If it's not there, I want to be compensated for pain and grief. :D Crushing expectations is a misdemeanor in my state (or should be).
