Other Which are you getting? iPhone 12 Pro or Pro Max?

I’m pretty torn, although this thread has me leaning 12 Pro.

I came from an XS Max to a 11 Pro last year and I got used to the smaller phone again. That said, I’m torn because it’s not so much about the screen size/battery as now I’m swayed by having a better camera.

...Then also, I’m not sure if those differences of camera between the 12 Pro vs. 12 Pro Max will be so apparent? I like carrying around an RX100 MK4 for when I want real good photos. It seems that the 12 Pro Max will have a good camera, but how much better than the 12 Pro?

...and that’s kind of where I am with my thinking + trying to gauge my patience

That's exactly my thinking too. I would of preferred the same size of the XS Max but I'm going to have to go to the Pro Max, I don't want to give up the better battery and camera just to have a slightly smaller phone than my current XS Max

I think it's a very bad idea that they decided to give the max additional features. I predict a lot of max models being sold and not very many normal pro models.

Think of the max buyers who’ve had to put up with a gimped phone that could be much better but isn’t because apple wanted it on par with a smaller one.

Been there done that. And always missed the bigger screen even knowing a smaller phone would be more convenient. I don’t even worry about it and just embrace the max.

I'm coming from a 11PM. I'm torn as well. I was planning to go to a smaller phone since I'm working out more and wanted the smaller size again for convenience. The difference in camera specs aren't major between 12P and 12PM, but it still makes me pause after seeing the few differences.

The problem is I think the phone is too big, this is a huge phone, now I'm completely lost!!! I really hate what Apple did there, to me, Apple could have put that same lens system on the regular pro, in fact in future phone it will be there.

I have an 11 Pro Max and I'm going down to the 12 Pro. I like the large screen but I cannot use the 11 Pro Max with one hand and I am ready to go down in size a bit. I'm a bit disappointed that the camera won't be as good as the 12 Pro Max but the truth is, I am no professional photographer and for what I use the camera for, the 12 Pro will be plenty fine.

I have the 11 pro but this time I'm going with the Pro Max. I am getting annoyed at the small screen. (I'm a senior citizen). The reason I think the Max will work for me is the use of a Pop Socket. I had a 6 Max and it was so wide that it was really hard for me to hold, and I've gotten the smaller version since then. But with the Pop Socket, I can use that to hold the phone instead of stretching my hand to try to hold the phone without "help".

Same. Coming from an IPhone X and have carried a 6Plus prior and the size was a bit annoying. Aging eyes make me think it would be nice to have the Pro Max but pocketability is a concern.

Better low light performance.

I saw improved optical image stabilization later. Yesterday was an odd day. I've not felt well for a few days (probably not COVID), so have been napping and forgot about the Apple announcement

The top 2 choices for me, if I HAD to upgrade this year, are the 12 Pro and the 12 Mini. At least the Mini isn't handicapped (other than battery life) vs the 12.
