I’m getting the 12 Pro Max.. graphite

Can’t wait for the pre orders to go live
[automerge]1602691463[/automerge]

I noticed they didn’t touch on batteries yesterday.. did battery life go down all around?
They look identical according to their specs. But if I went from the 11PM to 12P it would be a downgrade in battery.

This is why I'm going with the Pro Max, I don't want to be downgrading in battery life or camera just to have a smaller phone...

I think more people are going to go Pro because they don't want to wait 3 weeks.

I personally am going from 11 Pro Max to 12 Pro since size is 0.4" smaller which I think I prefer. Specs largely same. Cheaper.

I want to get the Max... but I'm kinda leaning towards the regular iPhone 12.

Someone correct me, but the only difference between the 12 and 12 Pro is the camera system? I don't take photos all that often/care about the camera all that much, and now that the iPhone 12 has OLED (not just the pro models), I think I'm gonna stick with iPhone 12.

Thoughts?

I had every intention of upgrading from my 11PM to the 12P, but after thinking about it, it would essentially be a very similar camera and a worse battery experience. I'm not too keen on larger devices, and have said year after year that I would like to go smaller, but the weaker battery life on the 12P and the upgraded camera on the 12PM made my decision for me.

November 6th preorder it is!

Likely just the Pro. I have an 11 Pro Max, and miss the XR size. This phone is giant and heavy, and given that when I watch videos on it its right in my face anyways, a bit more size isn't making much difference. And when I do need a giant screen... I've got enough of those around anyways.

As far as the camera differences go, neat on paper, doubt I'll notice in practise enough to care.
yeah i hear ya! i had an 11 PRO Max it wasnt so huge as heavy... been using my iphone 11 lately love that size, so thinking the 12 pro would be most similar to that?

I’m surprised so many people are deterring from the Max life this year. Hopefully pre orders will be a breeze.

Downgrading from an 11 Pro Max to a 12 Pro. 12 Pro has the perfect happy medium for screen size. Slightly bigger than the 11 Pro and smaller than the 11 Pro Max. Really looking forward to being able to use a phone 1-handed again. Was bummed about the camera improvements on the Max, but I can't do a giant phone again. Feels so uncomfortable in shorts.

I don't exactly like being a Returner, but I am probably going to order the Pro on Friday. When it comes I will compare it to my Pro Max. If I miss the bigger screen, or if the Pro isn't that much easier to use and hold, then I'll return it and order a Pro Max when that's available because I really would like the best camera system. If I love the 6.1" I'll keep it and send in my Pro Max, ending my iUP.
how will you be able to return it will be well out of the 14 day

it is nice to use one handed, isint it?! im tiered of large phones..

I will compare the size of the 12 Pro to my current 11PM, unfortunately you're right that I won't be able to compare 12 Pro to 12PM.

Maybe reviewers will get the Pro Max before the November 6th pre-order? I forget at what point in the process reviewers usually get the phones. If they did there could be camera comparisons between the 12 Pro and 12PM, and that would help me.

Undecided yet if I'm going to upgrade this year but if I do it'll be the Max. Been using the Max/Plus size since the iPhone 6 so am used to the bigger size and screen and would struggle with anything smaller. I only consider the Max/Plus size phones now. The fact that the Max this time has more features just makes it even sweeter.

The normal Pro as the Max is just too big & heavy. Like others I am annoyed at the features you can only find in the Max rather than making the two models identical especially as the normal Pro is only £100 less than the Max.

That said being as I’ve been housebound for some while now due to medical reasons it’s not like I will be using an optical zoom or ultra wide camera much at the moment.

Keeping in mind the above and depending what the screen is like maybe I’ll just go for the standard 12.

How much bigger is the pro max vs the XS max? I currently use that now

I am really ready to go from the 11PM to the 12 pro, but I do not want to give up the extra battery life and the improved camera of the 12PM.
i dont think the battery will overall be much less on the 12 Pro than 12 PM honestly... on specs alone yes, on utilization, the screen is larger and will take more battery etc. I havent seen a difference on battery between 11MP vs pro... infact, the pro seems almost better...

haha dont think so, its not much cheaper, at all... i like the form factor of the 12 pro, longer, skinner = easier and more stable to hold while hiking, walking and fitting in a pocket

I am so torn about this. I'm what you'd call an avid iPhone photographer... I went 6+>6S+>7+>X>XS>11Pro and have not missed the extra heff of the "+"/"Max" at all.

macrumors just confirmed it’s 6gb ram in the pro and 4gb in the non pro of that’s important to you.

Definitely the 12 Pro. I have a XS Max now and even though i'm used to the size I'm ready to go down a bit. I always thought the XR/11 size was perfect so I'm glad they finally made a 6.1 Pro version.

Def PRO MAX. I have the 11 Pro Max and downgrading to a smaller screen does sound enticing but I know I will miss it.

This thread is making me question the pro max. I'm still rocking a 7 plus. I loved it so much I skipped my usual every other year upgrade. Even those the size is similar, the 12 pro max looks to be significantly heavier.

Maybe I'm just trying to justify not having to wait three more weeks to order the pro max...

Obviously the camera that you've stated, possibly increased RAM which may prove beneficial if you keep it long term as well as base storage being increased on the Pro's to 128GB where as once you increase the regular 12 to that configuration, the price difference becomes even less.

To me, ProRAW and LiDAR for low light photography and possibly app and future iOS enhancements are worth the extra investment.

Yeah, this thread is interesting. I have an XS Max and have gotten used to the size so I was planning on getting the 12 Pro Max. But now I'm wondering if going down to the 12 Pro would be a nice change. I like the screen real estate but the Max really is pretty big.

Decisions, decisions ...

I downgraded on the xs from the 8 Plus and as much as I liked the smaller phone, I missed the bigger size. I have the 11 Pro Max and don't regret it one bit. I also believe due to the new stainless steel design, it will feel much different in hand as well. I'd say, go with the max.
