I also had a a bent 6Plus. I kept that as a memorabilia. Very Rare screw up event by Apple in its production history. 😃
Had a 6plus and got annoyed with its size over time. It having had the bending issue, requiring me to take extra care, and it having been underpowered from the start didn‘t help.
Upgraded to the 7, and now having been on X for 3 years, I‘m considering the bigger Pro Max again, as the Xˋ screen has been getting too small for my taste.

I‘m happy that preorders for the Max start later. That way, I‘ll have the chance to see the Non-Max in a store beforehand.

I’m getting tired of always carrying a huge phone, so I’m going from an 11 Pro Max to the smaller 12 Pro. As much as I’d like to have the BEST iPhone camera, I know that the 12 Pro camera is still BETTER than what I have now.
This is my thought process too. I'm going 12 Pro Silver 512GB. I really want a slightly smaller phone this time, but I do value the better camera. Too bad Apple couldn't fit the new senor in the 12 Pro, but this time I'm picking size over camera.

Upgrading my 7 plus.. since the 12 Pro Max is roughly the same size... (and I have no issues with it's size) will be ordering the Max

After reading every post in this thread I finally voted Pro Max.

I used 6+ for 3 years and upgrade to X due to 6+‘s slowness, old design and Touch ID incompatible with my dry cringe fingers. But I did miss 6+ screen as X has narrower screen that make most video smaller than on 6+. I replaced X with 11 because Apple declined to fix X’s faulty touchscreen due to water trigger. But one thing I miss most is telephoto lens in X. Especially outside taking photos of off trail wild animals. I’ll get pro ones for that alone. I still use wife’s 6S+(She’ll get my 11 later) and size really doesn’t bother me at all. And I’m using both hands on 11 anyway. Then, like someone here said, if I’m shoving out $1000, why not get top of line for $100 more. I’m taking mostly family photos so the better sensor shift should help when I chase down my toddler. Thankfully wife ok with waiting three more weeks to ditch the pathetic 16G 6S+ for my 11.

So Pro Max it is.

If you exclusively photograph him/her at night I suppose.

What if you wait until the Max comes out, then decide you want the Non-Max, but the Non-Max is ordered out until January? :(

I am pro towards Max user. If you see the vote, pro numbers are creeping up and I don’t want to be left out with this week pre-order empty handed. 😅
Bad experience from game console hoarding. It finished stock in 10 mins after launch time. I hope that would not be the case with Apple.

Oh my god, please do not give wrong idea, guys. 😅

I went from 6s Plus to Xr and had initially wanted the XS Max. I guess I felt the Max was hard to justify, since I don’t use the camera much. I like the Xr as a phone, but whenever I read on it or play games, I definitely wish I’d gone with the Max. This time I’m going to treat myself and finally go back to a larger phone/screen. I don’t necessarily need the added camera features, but the LiDar seems to be something that will be more relevant down the road and the additional RAM also will future-proof it versus a regular 12. If I’m going Pro, I may as well go all the way Pro.

I’ll probably go Pro on my next iPad too, but I don’t need the largest one of those. 11” is already sufficiently large. I like the added performance and extra future-proofing of the Pro models (both iPhone and iPad). Not everything they add is relevant to me now, but maybe I’ll use those added features someday.

Then I‘d continue using my X. I enjoyed using this phone for 3 years now, I think I‘ll be able to use it a couple more months :)
Also, my wife is not yet sold on replacing her 7 with my X, so no hurry there, either :D

It's amusing how the screen size has gone down but prices have gone up. The mini costs about 10% more than the normal iPhone 11.
The mini has a far better screen tech than 11 at a far better resolution density.

At night and also when he’s running around for sure. 11’s stabilization is already very good. Hopefully ProMax can take that to another level, less distortion on the background, etc.

Haha sad but true. I’m tempted to get the pro because its 3 weeks earlier but the heart wants what the heart wants lol. I’ll try to wait. We have all done a lot of waiting for nothing in 2020 so what’s another 3 weeks.
Be honest all you 12P buyers. If the Max was available at the same time, you'd be getting it. Amirite?

Not sure... I was going to get the Max before I knew the shipping dates, but I'm a bit put off my its size. I used to have a 6 Plus, and now have an X, which feels right. My wife's 8 Plus feels awkward.

How much bigger is the pro max vs the XS max? I currently use that now

XS Max:
  • Width: 3.05 inches (77.4 mm)
  • Height: 6.20 inches (157.5 mm)
  • Depth: 0.30 inch (7.7 mm)
  • Weight: 7.34 ounces (208 grams)
12 Pro Max:
  • Width: 3.07 inches (78.1 mm)
  • Height: 6.33 inches (160,8 mm)
  • Depth: 0.39 inch (7.4 mm)
  • Weight: 8.03 ounces (228 grams)

Just can’t do the Max... phone always ends up in front left pocket. Pro fits it well, and I can see the text just fine. While Max has a couple of nice features can’t justify it over the everyday utility of the Pro. it just fits my hand better.

iPhone 12 Pro Max for me (blue) and another for my wife (gold). Coming from a iPhone 6S+. Really looking forward to the cameras, especially taking pictures in low light conditions. The 12 Pro Max is almost the same size as the 6S+. Really liking what I am seeing this year from Apple, some great new products.

Really noticing the difference in size

Pro, despite battery size and camera difference to the Max model.

edit: hope they release a smart battery case for the 12 as that’ll make it perfect for me.

Yep. Now that I have a MacBook, it’s not as important that I have a huge screen anymore. So pro for me. The extra camera stuff on the Max will be an afterthought.
