Some of you guys are wizzes with the camera! A few of these cases don't look nearly as good in person as they do in your pictures.

Nope, even Windex won't remove the fingerprints on this baby. Perfect case though.
Yeah something about the coating makes it oddly difficult to wipe off any fingerprints, but it just feels so nice. I thought the Apple silicone was the best feeling case (when clean) until I got the Color Brick.
Too bad...seems like whatever makes it feel nice must also have some oleophilic properties. Once again showing us there’s no such thing as the perfect case.

This is why I'm thinking the faux leather one might be the perfect case. I'm going to order one sooner or later.
I thought about ordering one to try it out, but I’m worried amazon will ban me for returning too many things. It looks nice, but the back doesn’t seem recessed like the Color Brick’s, so I feel like it might be thicker or would get scratched more easily. Granted scratches are arguably less of an eye sore than being covered in fingerprints.

Yeah I received a strongly worded warning from amazon about excessive returns, a few years back. A lot of folks don’t seem to know but it’s good to be a little cautious returning things to amazon. Best buy too, but I know that from a buddy not personally lol.

Interesting.

I have been ordering and returning on Amazon probably for the best part of 18-24 months I probably keep 20% of the stuff that’s ordered. They haven’t mentioned a thing to me.

Although, it is a business account that I run at work so they may be softer on the rules.

edit; saying that, I have just looked through the order history and excessive phone case returns are definitely a thing haha, but that 20% of thing kept is for me personally. I keep everything I order for work

I return my fair share of stuff to Amazon, but I’ve never gotten a warning from them. Best Buy however, that’s a different story.

A few years ago I was informed, with no warning, that I was banned from returning anything I purchased for one year. The bad thing is, I hadn’t actually returned what I would consider “too much”, but this happened right after the holiday season, so perhaps I had a rush of holiday returns.

It actually turned out to be a good thing because I stopped impulse buying things from them, knowing I couldn’t return them.

But the worst was learning why this happens. It’s not actually Amazon or Best Buy that even notices it or cares. It’s some crappy hired-gun company that literally does nothing but look at who’s returning what and how much and then basically sends a list of people to ban or warn to Best Buy or Amazon. That’s not to let them off the hook as they contracted with these companies to begin with, but it just feels gross. Like, companies that have that sort of business are no better than patent trolls.

I got a warning from Amazon.de in German about returning too much stuff, even though I'm in the US and have never ordered anything from Amazon.de. The email came one minute after Amazon processed one of my returns, and it was a $600 item, so I think it was a legit warning, but a bug in their system caused me to get the warning from Amazon Germany instead of Amazon US.

From my own order history and from reading similar stories posted by others, a pattern emerged. It seems like if you consistently return more than 20% of your purchases for around a year, then you are likely to get the warning. There are probably other factors that go into it, but I try not to return more than 1 out of every 5 items I buy from Amazon now. The crazy thing is, they don't seem to care if your returns are for legitimate reasons... plenty of people have been banned even though all of their returns were justified (products that were damaged, etc.). I also had another large return earlier in the year that I got the warning, and it was a $750 camera that I returned and re-ordered because they sent the wrong one the first time.

I was puzzled tbh and my wife wasn’t sure why I got that notice either. I assumed it was because I’d returned two large items (suitcases) but it seems dubious. Ah well, it’s made me less wasteful I suppose lol.

Yep I’ve since learned it’s a third party. But similar to what you said, it’s made me less wasteful. Yeah I agree about those third parties...symbiotic parasites or some such.

I’m having some trouble deciding... Also, any recommendations that are similar to these cases?
Not sure if these are similar enough, but the spigen tough armor is great. Nice feel, thoughtful geometry and good drop protection. Plus a kickstand.
The Presidio2 Pro is actually a great case as well. The buttons are surprisingly tactile on this case btw. I like them as much as the apple leather case buttons, despite these being plastic. Nice soft touch exterior, the sides taper in from the back of the phone towards the screen side and it’s great in the hand. Anitmocrobial as well and slightly less of a fingerprint magnet vs the tech21.

I do wish I could look past the finger printing on a dark case. Those seem so much worse to me than on a clear case
