For anyone with the Apple silicone case who also had an Apple silicone case for the XS or XS max, is Apple using the same silicone material or have they refined it all? I hated the Xs max silicone case but have one on order for my 12 pro. Thinking of cancelling it though as I get the impression they are still dust magnets and Apple probably haven’t improved them at all?

I got one for my 12 and am returning it. The charging port is made out of a hard plastic and when my pinky rests on it, it’s uncomfortable. The silicone for my 11 pro was perfect since the bottom was open. Wish they kept it that way, or used a softer material for the charging port.

Tech21 Evo Clear + ESR glass screen protector on my graphite!

After I picked up my phone from the Apple store, I went to Best Buy hoping they’d have some Spigen clear cases. They were sold out, so I decided to try the tech21 Evo Clear. VERY satisfied and impressed! I do wish the back was completely flat though—the camera cutout is raised. And, getting the phone in and out of the case can be a bit tough. The fit is very snug. The ESR glass screen protector was ordered on Amazon and covers 99% of the screen.
How big is the cut out for the silencer switch? Thinking of going for one of these...

I got a Otterbox Aneu for my iPhone 12 Pro! Relatively happy, however, still looking for something a tad slimmer.

FYI, I’m also using the Spigen EZ Fit screen protector on my phone.
That bottom lip doesnt look straight to me. Every time i open your first pic my eyes goes straight to the bottom part.

I noticed that too, the edge off the cutout for the port is so sharp you almost can cut yourself on it :(

Does the back show many fingerprints? Is it a hard plastic back or tpu? I have always used tech21 but the evo check leaves too many fingerprints on the back I believe.
I got the blue and it’s going back. I can scratch the back with my fingernail and the sides are super slippery.

Mous CS are hopeless. Return requested. She sent me following response and i sent her video of last year's issues with leather case.

'' Hi Sal,

Thanks for getting in touch and I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Our new cases are slightly bent as they are fresh from manufacturing and packed ASAP so we can immediately send them to the customers. I’m sorry if this caused confusion and thought that you’ve received a defective case. Rest assured that we’ve tested the cases, and based on our observation, it straightens upon placing the phone inside.

and as for the Tempered Glass, the second screen protector is meant to be a spare in case you've had issues with the first one. Currently, we are already looking into including a second set of cleaning kit for screen protectors, however, it may not be anytime soon.

If you're going to install the second screen protector, you can use a microfibre cloth to clean the phone's screen

In the event that it doesn’t straighten up in the following weeks, do let us know by sending us a new photo/video for us to understand better what’s going on and we’ll certainly sort it out for you. ''

Having the same issue, have gone back and forth all day with their CS explaining that the item is defective because the cut out for the silencer switch is off on my limitless 3.0 and means I can’t access it. They’re refusing to cover the cost of returns, I’ve pointed out on several occasions now that they’re actively breaking consumer rights law (2015) taking this stance. its not going to cost me tons to return, but it’s a point of principle now. Horrid service, shoulda stuck with Otterbox/Tech 21. Wouldn’t recommend again.

Good to know I'm not the only one with the issues on the Smartish case. I loved mine on the 11, surprised this one has the issues with the buttons.

For anyone waiting for the Apple leather cases, I have just found that ESR have black and blue genuine leather cases available; https://www.esrgear.com/products/iphone-12-12-pro-metro-premium-leather-case/

I have checked few YouTube videos and Amazon reviews of them from previous models and they seem really good for a snippet of the cost of an Apple case (I don’t care for MagSafe).

If you shop about you can pick them up cheaper. I’ve just ordered a blue one off an eBay seller for £20. I’ll report back when I get it
Thanks for this! I’ve used leather cases for years now as I find they offer the right balance of comfort to hold, grip, protection and they look relatively smart (I even like the way they age).

Those ESR leather cases are the first ones I’ve seen which I’d consider buying instead of the official Apple cases. Significantly cheaper too! My only hesitation is that I just don’t know how useful the MagSafe feature is going to prove to be over standard wireless charging. The only really added value I can see at the moment would be as a flexible nightstand charger which I can reposition on my bedside cabinet, attaching only via the magnets.

I also love the lens protectors which ESR sell and will be installing one as soon as I get my new iPhone.

I will be tomorrow, I ordered the Humixx Crystal Clear case. I'm happy to share first impressions but sadly my phone is still a week out. I also ordered the SwitchEasy Nude which is totally different lol

Wow, thanks these look great. They offer a student discount as well. I am not interested in an additional $10 for mag safe Apple leather... I couldn't find in the description if they are wireless charge capable though. I may email and ask. Others here have suggested their screen protectors are good as well. Thanks again.

The third photo along in that link shows the phone in the leather case and says 'Wireless Charging Ready' so I'm sure that they work fine with traditional wireless chargers (as Apples previous leather cases do). I don't think it'll work in the same way with MagSafe because it lacks the extra magnets, but I don't see that being much of an issue for me, and I think these leather cases look amazing

Gosh, this is difficult.... I am absolutely picky with cases... Has to be somewhat classy and protective, but cannot add a lot of (and by a lot I mean "any") bulk to the phone...

I figured I will just buy something cheap for now and wait until there is more variety in the market. Went with a no name TPU clear case and screen protector from Amazon, paid 10€ in total for the case and 2 screen protectors. (The brand is called "UTECTION", but I guess it is quite generic...)

So far, I am liking it. "Quite" slim, grippy, and the lid is slightly raised above the display, even with the screen protectors on... My only fear is that I will stick with it, just out of laziness and inability to find "the One"...

Oh, that’s because I have an NFC chip in my case so that I can access my door. Looks ok once I remove it.

Mous still shipping Banana Boat cases?
Just got one for the Note 20 Ultra, it's nice and flat but slippery as a wet bar of soap.

I got a Mous Limitless 3.0 for my XS but returned it straight away because the extra protection made the phone feel almost twice as thick in places. I think it's a good option for people who want/need serious protection for their phones, but don't want to go down the industrial-looking route - but for people who just want a bit of added protection the trade off isn't worth it.
