While I like the d brand grip, my main issue is it’s so grippy on the sites that lint and dust really sticks to it. Back to the sheath for overall the best case I use.

I have to agree on the Dbrand Grip for the iPhone 12 Pro. My case was also collecting lint and other pocket stuff. Switched back to the Apple Saddle Brown leather case. I'm getting a black sheath in the mail tomorrow. Looking forward to that case. A lot of people seem to love it on here.

I’ve ordered another one. As you say, for the price you’d expect perfection.

Post a pic of your new one please.
Man I hate those tiger stripes, have had before and returned them, annoying when you see perfect ones. It’s a fault in making IMO. For $89AUD no way I would keep it.
Have a black coming so will see.

Just got the Apple 12 pro black leather case today. The phone fits snugly in the case, and takes some effort to remove the phone from the case. It doesn't easily pop out.

As far as size comparison. It's virtually the same size and thickness as the Caudabe Sheath, perhaps ever so slightly smaller. It's not as grippy as the Sheath, but a little grippier than the 11 Pro leather case, probably because of the square edges.

pic attached...

PSA: with the first case (the one with the tiger stripe) it did not feel like a perfect fit... Edges didn’t „snap“ in, corners felt like they could slide out any moment, side lids barely raised above the screen (with tempered glass).

Now with the new one (without tiger stripe) none of the issues are there... perfect fit, side lids are evenly raised above the glass...

It really seems that an imperfect piece of leather affects the fit of the case...

Replaced it with no issue... Happy now...
Damn, I’ve just noticed that the original Apple Leather Case does NOT pass the Pinky-Test.... Why, God, WHY??????

Hmm, has anyone tried sandpaper? 🤔

I would have gone for blue but delivery estimated as December. I think black with the blue should look OK too, hopefully. At least it will cover the 12 blue, which I’m not a huge fan of but wanted to go for something different.

Can’t comment on fit I’m afraid as it’s for the mini, but it feels good which you’d hope/expect given the cost. I’m sure I’ll get over the cost once it’s on the phone and in use.

Thanks for the reply. Still deciding on what case to get. Cheers!

I have the same issue. Bought it a couple of hours ago and opened the box to see this... Quite annoys me, tbh... Maybe I am too picky, but at that price I was expecting apple to pick a “clean” piece of leather, if they want to charge over 60€ for it... Am now on my way to try and return it, will update...

Just received my saddle brown leather case from the postman for my iPhone 12, also has a few linear stripes across the back. I agree with you we are paying a premium price for these Apple products and I expect perfect condition. Now discussing with Apple support to arrange an exchange. A bit disappointing :(

What’s the Pinky Test?
I assume op means that the cutouts are sharp/rough and that it’s abrasive and uncomfortable on the pinky when holding it in the typical fashion. I concur, the bottomless case was much more comfortable. I hope the cutouts will soften over time and/or that I will develop a callus.

Canceled my order for the Smartish wallet case after reading all the posts about the buttons. Hopefully they get it straightened out.

Edit** Apparently they have launched a button replacement program to address the hard button issue

Has anyone successfully gotten a replacement Smartish case? I used the form to contact them about my defective case and I got an automated response saying they are reviewing my request. I haven't heard anything since then.

If anyone has gone through this process with Smartish, can you let me know how long it takes to get approval for a replacement case?

I filled out the form for the replacement case on 11/1 and received my tracking info today. It looks like they’re starting to ship them out. Hopefully this helps!

In a van down by the river
With many reports of the Apple leather and silicone cases popping off on the corners, I decided to get a Mujjo leather case for my mini. The case and phone will be here Friday. If my Apple case does have the popping off at the corners problem, hopefully the Mujjo leather case will stay on.
