It’s funny with some of the complaints of ‘tiger stripes’ on the Apple cases, bullstrap cases appear to be covered in them. I think they look better for it. That ocean colour 👌🏼

Are these sold in the UK?
I personally have no issues with stripes and streaks on leather cases. It’s part of the natural material and gives it character and uniqueness.

Since I had asked for it in the past myself, here are some comparison pics between the Apple leather case and the ESR leather case.

I have to say, yes you pay a premium with Apple, it is almost triple the price, but it is almost triple the quality... Both the leather material and the fit are much more superior.

The ESR cover has a much more grainy leather and is also "paperlike" as others have put it... Meaning it seems like paper-thin and is also quite "slippery", like paper. Also The side lids are more raised above the screen, to the point where it might even be disturbing while swiping up.

Both of these points were of no concern to me, when I was using the ESR, so for the money it is still a great choice... But now using them side by side, there is just no comparison...

It's different... There are "vintage" leather objects that are covered in some sort of stripes, marks or other stuff... That's ok and intended.

An then there are leather objects that are supposed to have an even surface, like the apple leather case... There, even a single mark can be obstrusive...

Exactly my findings with the ESR too.

Only thing is, at the moment, my ESR case fit better than the Apple case

In my case the Apple case is more than 5 times the price of the ESR case. (will take like 20 days to arrive though)
The ESR case is so cheap, that i can just order it for fun to test it out and maybe use it in the gym or whatever ;)

I have no doubt, that the Apple case has a much higher quality and i will likely keep both. But the price difference is still insane ;)

Can anyone post a picture showing the cutouts on the latest Dbrand Grip and Mous cases for the 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max?

Are the cutouts on the bottom asymmetrical or symmetrical on these latest cases?

Thanks, Sal
Mous is now off my list. Wonder if anyone with the Dbrand grip will respond?

I buy leather phone cases to sniff them haha. Jokes aside though, is the scent of a leather case an indicator of its quality?
That good traditional leather smell is typically indicative of a vegetable tanned leather rather than a modern chemical tanned leather. A vegetable tan is typically of a higher quality and is way better for the environment and your health.

Anyone who has the Caudabe Sheath for their iPhone 12/Pro and a leather Apple case, which one do you prefer and why?

That’s a hard choice. I have both of them. I think of them as very different types of cases. They’re both nearly the same thickness, but I wouldn’t personally use my leather case if I were to be going on a hike or doing something around water. In those scenarios, I’d switch from the leather case to the Sheath. I guess if I had to pick one, I’d pick the Sheath because it’s more versatile. I like the feel of leather better though.

I also have a Veil... that one I love the thickness of. The phone is so much easier to grip in my hand, but I’m afraid to put it on and take it off too many times. I sort of feel like it is really meant to be an “only case” type of case.

I have also both of them and fully agree with @PaladinGuy. Basically, I think of the leather case as a more "business" / "city" / "everyday-work" kind of case, whereas the Sheath would be used for outdoor-sy types of activities.

rhinoshield solidsuit on the 12 gold pro! was using the apple silicone case initially, and although the rhinoshield case is quite thin, i noticed a significant difference in width - it's much wider than the apple silicone and thus adds more bulk to the grip. its also a bit slippery. overall great quality, very sturdy and snug fit.
