Thanks for the insight, I think the same thing. They seemed to have evolved the cases quite a bit?
I think so too.

I remember the one for my 7 being slim and had a nice matted effect.

Found this one to be bulky and horrible to hold.

Gee that's taken a battering already lol, shame you were a big SB fan.
Have the nomads buttons loosened up bit?
I have a black apple coming Monday but doubt i will be keeping it, 4 days for a case 6 hours drive away.
I was.. lol! I still do like the older SB cases from Apple. This years case just doesn’t have that feeling I’m looking for, doesn’t fit well and feels like plastic. For the price, I feel like I’m getting way less product. No offense to current and future Apple leather case owners, I had just about every color for my 11 pro and have the SB and red Apple leather cases for my se2.

The buttons are still bad on the Nomad, but they aren’t as bad as the buttons on my 11 pro case. I’m thinking it has something to do with the way the case is made to form around the squared edges of the 12. They’re tough, but not extremely tough. I’ve come to accept that’s just the way these buttons for this particular case are going to be for the life of it. I’d say the buttons on the Nomad will not likely soften up over time. I take it as being part of the Nomad’s character? ?

Got a few cases but have been mostly
Using the ringke air s. Love the form factor. Minimal bulk. Great fit.

I still wish I could find a case that is the blue colour of the Xr as it’s the only thing I miss about the Xr. Man that blue was gorgeous. The pro blue is nicer than the standard 12 but I couldn’t justify paying another £250 just for a slightly nicer colour.

That's weird.. mine was already sent out.
But i went with the black Mini, might be different for other models and colors
That was the standard delivery time. I paid a $1.56 to get "expedited" and it should arrive next month.

Thanks for the find btw. I had ordered direct from ESR but after a week it still said "1-3 days" to process order so I finally canceled.

tbh it's too wide for my liking, especially having used the apple silicone cases for the first few days before getting the rhinoshield, AND its very slippery. not much grip. if you have longer fingers then the wideness wouldnt be a problem. I wanted to really like these as ive rocked these for previous iphones but i guess i gotta find a new daily. just updated my original post to say it also left a bunchhhhh of scratches on the sides of my phone. ugh.
I wonder as to why the scratches are happening!? I just received mine, fits nice and I can manage the slick grip but your scratches issue is what worries me. Care to throw some light?

I got 3 ESR vases and think they’re all great. 2 clear ones (I always get the basic clear one) plus 1 with a stand and a black one. Cheap but excellent.

Finally got to pop in my Pro Max in the Torras Slim Fit case but unfortunately it does not fit. The top part fits fine but the bottom portion of the phone pushes itself out of the case and the screen eventually peaks out over the lip of the case. Sucks because I’ve used these cases on my last two iPhones since they’re slim but still protective. Maybe the one I got was just defective?

After trying both on my mini, I elected to return the Apple Leather and keep the Nomad. One it’s put on the phone the Apple feels more like cardboard than leather. I’ll enjoy my Nomad, and if I want to change things up I can always get the Nomad in black.

Il be returning my leather cases too, baltic blue and saddle brown, I love the quality but in my field of work I need something bit more hard wearing and upon reflection these won't last very long.

Mous contour was perfect for my iPhone 11 pro max but shame they don't make one for the 12 pro max yet.

Got my Sheath.

It's the first time I have had one since my iPhone 7 and I don't like it. It's so grainy compared to how they used to be, almost borderline rough? The sides don't find snug on the phone either; the Apple leather case fit a lot better. £28.00 for these cases used to be well worth it, not anymore IMO.

Also it's quite a bit chunkier than the leather case.

So it's going back.

Just chiming in to echo your sentiments about the Sheath. It was the first case I put on my 12 Pro Max this morning after picking it up from Apple, and I immediately noticed the fit was awful. It doesn’t “snap” onto the phone the way Caudabe cases always have. It almost feels like the case isn’t deep enough for the phone.

Needless to say, it’ll be going back. And my disappointment with Caudabe is twofold because they informed me on Twitter that they have no plans to make the Synthesis for the 12 Pro Max. Not really sure what their thinking there is, but it came straight from the horse’s mouth.

Right now I’m using a case from Best Buy that really similar to the Meifigno cases from Amazon that I’ve always liked. I’ve still got a black Nomad case coming, too.

I’ve tried the Apple Leather case and silicone case, and while I like them, they’re not really speaking to me. I’m hoping the Nomad works out, because no other cases I’ve tried so far have been as good as this Best Buy case.

I contacted Caudabe this morning. They are running a new batch and sending me a new one. Here is an excerpt from their email. This is great becuase I do not want any other case, I've used and loved the Sheath since 2014.

"our engineering team discovered that there may be minor issues for a small batch of Sheaths. This can sometimes happen during a new generation of iPhones where the shape changes dramatically (as it did this year). We're already making another batch now that completely resolves any issue, and those should be ready within the next 1-2 weeks"

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll shoot them an email as well and hopefully get the issue resolved. Caudabe has always had fantastic customer service, and I’m glad to see that’s continuing.

PSA: The Maxboost tempered glass screen protectors do not fit in the Otterbox Defender case for the iPhone 12 Pro Max despite being "case friendly." The screen protector is a hair too long to sit flush with the case. I've tried applying the screen protector before installing the case, I've tried installing it after putting on the case (to use the frame of the case as a guide) and I've come to the same result every time, the top and bottom bubbles when used with the case. In addition, the Maxboost does not appear to have an oleophobic coating, as the screen protector was a worse fingerprint magnet than the phone itself.

Also, the Otterbox Defender camera cutout does not conform to the edges of the camera bump. There's a noticeable gap, which will most likely accumulate crud.

I'll be using my phone without a screen protector until the name brands come back in stock. I'd like to hear if anyone else has tried a tempered glass screen protector with an Otterbox Defender, and if so, I want to know which ones actually fit!

Same thing happen with mine. Waiting for replacement. The Veil fits like a glove. Hopefully the replacement sheath will be the same.
Same with my 12PM Navy Sheath, and got the same response from Caudabe (they were very quick on that turnaround!).
If it was a "small batch" issue, I wonder if it was color specific?
Either way, I'm hopeful they'll make it right.

Good question about the color. For reference, I went with the black Sheath.

Update on my sheath. Caudabe insisted on sending me a new one from their inventory free of charge to try for now. I ordered mine back in October so I'm sure I got the early product. They also said reach back out to them in two more weeks if I still want one from the new batch, also free of charge. Pretty good customer service, hope the product matches. Have had zero issue with any sheaths in the past so I'm pretty optimistic they'll get it right.

Lots of Sheath fans here. I’m looking for something a bit more protective and was thinking of trying the Synthesis. I like the idea of a back that doesn’t show fingerprints or scratches. Currently using the Evo check and I am really happy, but the fingerprints getting annoying. Any synthesis owners out there that can chime in?
