I found a cheap, yet solid clear case on Amazon for the 12Max. It’s not bulky but offers decent protection, and the lip around the screen is barely taller than the screen (with a glass screen protector installed). It has a slight blue hint, and does show fingerprints albeit just barely. The inside of the case has some grippy texture which helps the case stay out on the sides, and the buttons are covered and have decent click. Al in all the case fits well and at under $10 is pretty impressive.

Those dots on the side though.......

Here is my review of the Speck case: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/speck-presidio-2-pro.2270892/

It is now my primary case. There is no sag whatsoever because it is hard plastic outer over the buttons and charging port.

I was talking about the grip2 from Speck sorry. It changed from rubber to plastic which is kind of lame. As for sag, I meant the UAG case.

How are the buttons on your Speck case are they tactile?

Speaking of Speck, has anyone tried one of these yet?

Buttons are fantastic.

From pics, the Ombré lip where the power and volume buttons are...are soft...they are fairly stiff but not solid. Speck CLEAR cases have horrible buttons too.

I’ve got the black Grip2 and the blue one on the way, and I’m fine with the grips changing, although I can understand people that don’t like the change, too. But I’ve tried multiple Speck cases on my phone so far and all of them have nice clicky buttons now. Instead of the buttons being TPU, they’re now plastic and separate from the TPU that surrounds them. Like a lot of cases now, they basically “float” and I like what Speck’s done with them.

I decided to return the Otterbox Aneu and keep the SolidSuit. It just feels so good in the hand, and it feels more well put together and protective than the Aneu. I hope they make a MagSafe variant someday.

I see you’ve got orange buttons. So you can swap out the buttons on the Solidsuit like you can on the Mod NX? I didn’t realize you could swap the buttons out.

Yeah, and apparently their buttons from the iPhone 6 onward are interchangeable minus the first SE, so the lavender buttons I had on my XS Max SolidSuit work on this one too.

Looks like camera bump might make it wobble a bit when on its back?

Do thin (< 3mm) cases have Magsafe compatibility?
Totallee claim their own cases are thin enough to be Magsafe
How strong it is?
I would use for Magsafe mount car, i am worried about magnetic strength
Thanks

Have to say that this years Dbrand grip is much better than last ones and the complaints regarding case breaking down have also been rectified. Feels solid in the hand, has kickass buttons with great tactile feedback and one can always customize it according to their liking through skins. I really like the amount of grip it provides while being quite slim and easy to swipe. By swipe I mean, the sides are lowered and the top edges are raised so it is quite easy to do sideswipes.

P.S. one can now order individual skins for the grip case. The new MKBHD-Dbrand Collab is also ???.

It is compatible in terms of charging. But i would be very worried about using car mount. For that, i would get an Apple case...i would not even trust Otterbox MagSafe cases for car mount.

I just wish I could order only the case (you’ve only been able to order the case with a skin until today, adding an unnecessary $10 to the cost), and now the MKBHD promotion has hijacked their website until December 12th. And if you opt to order the case now, you’re paying a $5 premium on top of that just to get a MKBHD skin (that I won’t use).

Not really sure what DBrand is doing right now.

What case is that?

There are a lot of to choose from. Better to find one with foam insert to be on safe side to avoid scratches on rim.

The one I ordered came with foam insert.
