Midnight case delivery got pushed back a week as I was about to order 🙁

Ordered forest green and umbar to see what they're like.

Pin hopes on Amazon going live with the midnight one so I can have all three here for when the phone arrives so I can pick my favourite and send two back
Midnight leather or silicone?

Last year's thread for reference:

I bought a Benks cheapo from Amazon which will have to make do until the Gen 4 Rebel launches.

I refuse to buy multiple cases this time because I always end up with Rebel on my phone -- the only problem is they aren't ready for launch.

Right. And even priceless, irreplaceable works of art aren't hidden, as a case would do.

A priceless piece of art usually is hanging in a museum and many times is roped off. A iPhone is in your pocket out your pocket. Maybe falling off a mag car cradle. Falling off a desk. Falling out of your hand when you fall asleep. Etc. It’s protection. Also some people like to use a fancy design case to express their aesthetic taste.

I've ordered one of these too.

Have you used them before? What were they like if so?

I've been going spigen for years. Ordered via amazon for the 14PM. Delivery for tomorrow.

Rugged Armor (magfit). They no longer doing that one with apple logo exposed as they are putting magsafe in most of their cases now. BTW order via amazon not spigen. Cheaper too.

Yes, but still not covered by anything.

Going to be a hard fall.

This is where my phone is. And when it's not, it's in a back pocket in carpenter shorts or pants. Yes, I've dropped my phone before, had to replace it twice. But I don't fall asleep with my phone in my hand. I'm not that tied to my phone.

I have yet to find a 'fancy' case that expresses my aesthetic taste better than the iPhone does without a case. But you're right about protection. I'm just not depending on a case to be the end all be all of protection. If I was, then yeah, I'd be falling asleep with my phone in my hand instead of putting it away and then falling asleep.

Got a green wallet case from Amazon. If you don’t use a case, why bother jumping into the thread to display your perceived superiority?
They’re all high and mighty until they have an accident and their phone ends up looking like something an elephant has danced all over. A good friend of mine refused to use a case with his iPhone SE 2022 and dropped it in front of me onto concrete causing an edge-to-edge spiderweb on his screen and scratches and chips all over the sides. He tried to brush off the disappointment but was clearly unhappy. I have previously dropped my 12 Mini on pavements with no repercussions because I use a pretty silicone Apple case and a screen protector.

In years past, some major sites reported that Totallee uses generic cases they buy in bulk. While Peel designs their own typically. I only will buy a case with MagSafe anyway, so I got the Peel clear MagSafe case;

I am new at this stuff. Is this also where I post the receiving of my case?

Apple has switched leather cases from "Saddle Brown" to "Umber".

I've had a Saddle Brown leather case for years; hoping the Umber is just as beautiful.

If not, I'll go for a nice third-party leather case; any recommendations?

No, buy I know Tee gave a very solid review to the Benks Kevlar case so I gave this less expensive one a shot.

I didn't want to pay the extra for the Kevlar case since I'm just waiting on the Gen 4 Phone Rebel

But the point is, an iPhone isn't a priceless piece of art. It's just a phone. And if you're going to dole out the cash for a pricy pro iPhone, why would you cover that up with rubber or plastic?

I've owned nearly every iPhone since Apple started making them, and I've only ever dropped my phone a handful of times, and I've never cracked a screen. Tiny dent here or there, but that's what happens to things you own.

To me, putting a case on your phone is akin to buying a beautiful new sofa, and then covering it in plastic. Or buying a Rolex and putting it in an Otterbox. Cheese city.

Bullstrap or Ryan London.

I’ve also only dropped and broken one phone but leather feels better than the bare glass/steel to me.

I’m guessing you don’t have a toddler?

Anyway, pre-ordered a Bullstrap case in sienna and a storm blue Apple silicone case to tide me over until it arrives in October. The silicone case will be for hiking and pool visits after that.
