One person’s grippy is another person’s slippery. It seems pretty obvious that it depends upon preference and things like hand moisture, skin softness/roughness, etc. In my instance there is such a thing as “too grippy” which is attained by cases such as the Phone Rebel Gen 5 and Dbrand Grip.
I returned the Synthesis but to me the grip was excellent. My Schpeegen Mag although doesn’t have matrix or spikes is great grip. I think because the bumper is a softer porous-ish compound and maybe the rounded bumper helps. But I’m told the Nomad has similar soft-ish bumper as the Mag which would most likely be good for me.

I couldn't agree more.

I found cases like the Synthesis and Gripmunk straight up uncomfortable to use because they were too grippy, but cases like the Sheath or Mous Limitless 5.0 feel damn near perfect. I'd guess I'd also prefer PR G5 Frosted to the Aramid too based on people's describing how different the grip level is between the two.

Here’s what the Schpeegen Mag Armor bumper looks like. As you can see it’s sort of “porous-ish” what you can’t see it’s also “soft-ish”.

Like you said depends upon hand moisture, oils in skin etc.

With this type of compound it provides me with a good grip.

People still use cables?
Yep, I purchased a USB A 3.2 to USB C Chunky cable to backup my 15 PM to my Mac via iMazing. I have a 2015 First Generation iPad Pro 12.9 with only 32GB storage and I do not have enough storage for the iPadOS updates to be installed/expanded on the device so I use iMazing to expand the iPadOS on my Mac to install updates...:)

Ok got the Frosty a little while ago. I have to say I’m extremely impressed, beyond my expectations. I’m going to make a bold unseen assumption. The Frosty has to be the Crème de la crème of frosted clear hybrid cases. The quality of this case is top f’ing notch. Even though the non Max weighs 44g doesn’t even feel like it’s heavy even a little bit. Feels so good in the hand. I like the frosty back which you know is frosty by touching it. The buttons, the fit, the quality.

VERY well thought out design.

But my cables don’t fit.

And even though it has matrix grips, it’s still slippery to me. I think it’s because the bumper and matrix spikes are a really hard compound without much “give”. I was told that the Nomad Sport bumper as an example is “soft”. I think this is the first year PR has matrix grips? Man can’t imagine how slippery it was without them.

Now the cables which would be 3 6 footers I might be able to find at work in the lost and found. But I’m not going to force myself to be satisfied with gripage even though the frosty is absolutely the crème de la crème.
Couldn't you just file the charging port hole a little bigger? Over the years I've modified countless cases to make them work. Although it wouldn't fix the grip.

This case intrigues me. I only use magsafe but I may have to buy one just to fix the small opening...

So far my top 3 are:

Caudabe Synthesis
Spigen Enzo Aramid
Apple Silicone

I want to try the Rebel Frosted and the Nomad Sports case.

If I could get cables from work lost and found the frosty is slippery for me.

That’s my only negative and it’s an important one. Other than that like I said before without experiencing other frosted / clear hybrids; the frosty has to be the crème de la crème of frosted / clear hybrid cases.

With the stock brass looking metal, Mous hands down. With black metal swapped out pieces, the PR takes the cake in my opinion
I’m seriously considering the black parts for the PR, but I can’t help but wonder how well the black finish on the camera surround is going to hold up over time. The buttons should be fine, but I can imagine the camera bumper wearing through to the silver metal underneath. I guess it’s only $15 so maybe I’ll give it a go.

If you are looking for a fantastic cable try the Apple 2m USB-C to USB-C cable ($29.00) This cable is great, way fatter than the one that comes with the phone, super flexible and just a very high quality cable.

Even more so than the SlipperySuit?? 😁

No, but it's running a close 2nd in the race.

Blacked Out Frosted is the way to roll. I had the ultra orange buttons in but went back to black o_O

My problem with the PR is not the color, but the fit; there’s a fit issue, at least with the copy I originally had and its replacement that I now have. At the bottom around the cutouts, the case makes a clicking/popping noise if you apply pressure to the rim, similar to the issue with the early Mous aramid before they fixed it. It’s mostly not an issue in use, but it does occasionally happen on an up-swipe, and now that I’m aware of it my OCD has kicked in… lol.

How’s the top piece on the front? I went through 3 black speckled cases and all 3 had notable bent tops so got returned.
It could be a bit in the speaker area, but for 30€ on Black Friday I'm not unhappy

same here. so weird that the aramid was so perfect for the grip, but the frosty was made from a different material that was hard and not grippy

You haven't seen slippery until you get the Spigen ultra hybrid frosted, that's SLIPPERY o_O
OMG so right! I sent it right back to Amazon within 10 minutes of feeling it. did not like it at all.

Wrong. Frosty on Natty with matte black camera ring with orange buttons is wayyyyy better lol

man, this picture makes me want to get the PR again, great design with the raised corners and lower side edges for nice swiping. love the customization options too. I just cant get past the feel of the textured sides knowing how much better the aramid feels.
