The only obvious change is the addition of the microfiber lining. My hypothesis is that they had to make room for the lining by thinning the back material, which could theoretically cause this problem. It’s only a guess.
Kind of like the black leather Mous, MagSafe bulge on the back :(

That sucks. So, basically all they improved was to make the slits on the sides of the buttons longer?
It appears that way. I feel the Action button is slightly sketchy, with very little material connecting the button to the case, yet it still feels less tactile than the other buttons. Hoping they finally go to floating buttons next year.

Of the cases I’ve had this year, the OB Symmetry and Nomad Rugged have had the least issues/defects. Mous, Caudabe, and Phone Rebel could do much better in the QC department. Pitaka was OK other than the fact that Amazon sent me two of their used cases. It’s been a year of returns like no other for me.

You using MagSafe charger on the Mous aramid? How you keep ring marks away?
Yes. So far, they’ve been easily wiped off. I don’t use any other MagSafe accessories, and the Belkin charger has a fairly soft surface, so perhaps that’s the answer?

It’s this flat charger:

I used to have their vertical charger which seemed to leave more marks than this one, perhaps due to slippage?

Anyone still rocking the otterbox symmetry? Searched back through the thread and seems like interest in that case has waned a bit. Bit on a half off deal from Amazon, will see how it compares to the current lineup.

In no particular order have been rotating through:
-dbrand grip
-dbrand ghost
-mous limitless 5.0
-smartish gripzilla
-spigen mag armor

I have one in my rotation. It’s a solid case, great buttons, good fit (though not super tight), hardly any fingerprints, comfortable in the hand, reasonably protective. Not flashy, but not really anything to complain about, which I think explains the lack of discussion. If I was smart I would just buy one with the new phone each year and skip all of the case swapping shenanigans... lol.

Sure... in keeping with the season, was using the Green for a bit until my Forrest Green Mous arrived the middle of last week.

As mentioned, solid all-around case with no major weaknesses. Even better, frequently on sale! (Actually, I think it's on sale more often then not)

Yes only using it now, just spent 2 weeks in Bali was the perfect case, the back even had more grip in the heat and humidity lol

Yup have that exact blue one, looks great with natural ti and for $25 bucks it’s definitely worth it.

This is absolutely gorgeous. The grain on that case is stunning. When I ordered my RL case I asked for one with a ton of “grain” and they delivered. Congrats on that case my man!

Yep that full grain leather man is really top shelf. Don’t see the Andar I have coming beating this case out from the pics and reviews I’ve seen.

Hi all- am trying to go for a minimalist, good quality, protective case for the iPhone. I’m between the Caudabe and Phone Rebel; what are your guys’ thoughts on both (or any others that are generally recommended by the community)? How’s the PR Gen 5?

Others can respond with direct comments, but there is a wealth of information on both of those cases already in this thread. The search function allows you to search only in this thread. Very useful and you will find some diverse perspectives!

PR gen 5 is the best but idk if I would categorize it as minimalist whatsoever. That would be caudabe.
