This is a classic example of not doing enough product testing before committing to a design, then not testing their subsequent redesigns thoroughly enough either. I guess we wait for Version 3 to fix the ring indent? As I said in my earlier post, I feel like a beta tester for Caudabe. 🙄My post 10,936 I don’t think they can unless they thicken the back and get rid of the felt liner.
Read this article and you’ll see how the felt liner idea back fired.
However a quote from the article.
“Part of the challenge with the iPhone 15 series Sheath arose due to the flexible nature of ShockLite, the proprietary polymer we use. If the inner wall of Sheath was not sufficiently thick, an imprint of the magnet would appear on the back of the case. On the other hand, if the wall was too thick, the strength of the embedded magnets would be drastically impaired. A difference of even 0.1mm could have a significant impact.”

Looks like the sheath is suitable for me. I tend to use my phone 1handed and would shift my hands around to reach for the corners. Hence, a relatively grippy back would help with thatHaving experience with the Sheath and Synthesis…
The Sheath has the same consistent grip all over the case. Still grippy for me.
The Synthesis has matrix grips on the sides and the rest of the case is slippery. The Synthesis needs those matrix grips or it would be slippery. The matrix grips for me are more grippy than the Sheath but you only get that better grip on the sides.
I like both kinds of grip so for me it’s a toss up.
I have the sport and rugged case. Your spot on the buttons. I prefer a slim type of case, hence the rugged case is out. If I were to find any faults with my nomad cases, it would have to be the bottom cutout for the speakers and fingerprint/oil stains are visible on the sport case.Nomad’s buttons are among the best this year imo. If you love their buttons, you might be a little disappointed in Caudabe’s buttons as they’re a bit stiff due to the material. The revised version buttons are supposedly a bit better but then, bigger slits.
I have Nomad’s Horween leather case, and the bottom cutout is even worse lol. I don’t mind it too much though as I really like the smooth tpu sides and metal buttons. I might get a Sport case later in the year if they have more color options, fingerprints might bother me thoughI have the sport and rugged case. Your spot on the buttons. Unfortunately, due to its reflective surface but still somehow grippy. Ah I see, thanks for sharing that. One of my first cases for my 15 Pro was a clear backed plastic case, and I found myself often taking it off to remove any dust found in between the case and the phone, and often wiping the back clean of fingerprints. I might as well throw it in the trash bc haven’t used it in so long, and I haven’t bought any more plastic cases that show fingerprintsUnfortunately, due to its reflective surface but still somehow grippy. I have the same case. At first the bottom annoyed me as well but noticed now it gives a bit more room for typing and I find it more comfortable to use the keyboard now with the bit of added lengthI have Nomad’s Horween leather case, and the bottom cutout is even worse lol. If you’re using your iPhone 1 handed then def the Sheath.Looks like the sheath is suitable for me. I tend to use my phone 1handed and would shift my hands around to reach for the corners. Hence, a relatively grippy back would help with that
Anyone with a Ryan London and a Andar aspen? I’ll have the red and green Andar but I’ve heard good things about the Ryan and need me a nice saddle brown leather case. Bulk strap is cool but the camera looks like a tumor and I hate the open bottom
just searching this thread for more recommendations, any reason why you are getting rid of the Commuter? Also parting with a black Leather Mous $50.00 shipped and an Otterbox Magsafe Commuter $30.00 Shipped.
Nope, just don't use it.just searching this thread for more recommendations, any reason why you are getting rid of the Commuter?
Already have one - thanks! I have the Commuter and a Torras Guardian and I swap them at least twice a day - I am super indecisive.Nope, just don't use it. $25.00 PayPal and I'll ship it to you. This is the MagSafe version I have.
i have a similar review as @RRC , though I think RL has the better quality leather. Andar has a variety of colors (the Moss green patinas beautifully) and the RL does indeed feel more orange. If you’re looking for a saddle brown type color, I think the Andar camel tan hits it the closest.Anyone with a Ryan London and a Andar aspen? Sorry was out and about all day with Holiday stuff, I’ll try to snap a few tomorrow. There’s def some in this thread way back too.Nice. Have any pictures?
Interesting, 2 different cases. Why not both? PR for when you need protection and then Aspen for everyday use.Trying to decide if I’d like the aramid phone rebel, or andar aspen more 🤔
True, they’re very different. I guess it’s just a matter of which case I’d personally get more use out of. I’m leaning more towards andar because I already have the Mous and caudabe cases, which are sort of the more protective cases.Interesting, 2 different cases. Why not both? The Sheath seems slightly thicker, and their TPU formulation seems more dense than the silicone used in the Apple case, which probably explains the difference in weight. I have yet to see drop tests of both of these cases on the same phone, so it’s difficult to say, but intuitively the Caudabe appears to be slightly more protective. Neither are what I would consider very protective cases.Someone posted that the Sheath and Synthesis was unnecessarily heavier than the Apple Silicone but has the same form factor.
What makes the Sheath heavier than the Apple Silicone? And with the Sheath being heavier wouldn’t it offer better drop protection than the Apple Silicone?
