That's selling it a bit short. It definitely adds grip vs the naked phone. But no, it will not provide much at all in the way of drop protection.

Oh I agree but more of an aesthetic choice this case is. I had the MagEZ 4 and it did have some decent grip. Only dumped it because it was the toughest case to remove.

I’ve heard the 4 was super hard to remove, which you wouldn’t think because it’s a thin case lol, but I just took of the 5 after reading your comment, and it’s super easy, which I’m pretty sure Pitaka said they were going to fix how hard it was to remove.

I know the Pitaka Mag EZ Case Pro 4 is old news around here, but I’ve had it for a few weeks now and generally like it. It looks amazing, very lightweight (for its size), and fits really nicely - snug but not impossible to remove. It was definitely slippery at first but the more I use it the easier it is to hold onto.

Overall build quality is good, but I’m disappointed in the soft touch coating they used on the non-aramid parts. It’s already peeling like a MKIV Volkswagen interior, and I’m really gentle/careful with my phones. I wouldn’t mind if this was a $15 case but it’s bothersome for one this expensive. Hoping this was just a bad batch and Pitaka can replace it.

Literally was sitting in my mailbox lol

Initial impressions...
-The Bullstrap leather demolishes the Andar leather, but both have a sensational leather smell
-The Andar is a bar of soap out of the box, wayyy more than Bullstrap (I do understand once my hand oils get in the case and with usage, the grip will get better on both cases)
-The buttons are literally from the same factory it seems lol
-MagSafe strength is just about the same. it's a coin flip.

Very hard to say which case is better. You can't go wrong with either. The bottom cutout of the Bullstrap does not bother me one bit. Zero pinky fatigue with the cutout. I really hope I can break these cases in quickly because both are rather slippery out of the box. I do like the leather wrapped camera ring the Bullstrap offers, but prefer the company branding better on the Andar.

Both will stay in rotation. Beautiful leather options.

Both cases looks great. I have the Andar aspen case in navy it is still slippery even after a month. I was thinking about the bull strap but i will wait to see if they make it with a closed bottom.

Going to check out the Gram28 leather cases since they come in today but recently I've been using the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Frosted. I just love that case for some reason. Just checks the boxes and I don't even mind it being a little slippery.

I ran the Schpeegen Ultra Hybrid for a week. I wanted to like it but it was too slippery for me. For $20’ish it’s well worth it.

The case that checks most the boxes is the Sheath hands down.

Are you having any issues with the MagSafe area on your copy? I’m trying to decide if I’m going to ask for another replacement or just go for a refund. I like the case a lot, but I’m too OCD to live with the indentation on a daily basis.

I don’t use MagSafe. But I have a popsocket that I don’t use but wanted to test the Sheath. After 24 hours I got a slight hardly can see condom ring which doesn't bother me. I suspect if I use popsocket more then it could get worse?

Thanks for the update. I only use MagSafe for overnight charging but it’s getting worse. I’m in discussion with Caudabe now, we’ll see what they say.

I know I’m beating a dead horse here, I’ll be dropping the subject to avoid annoying everyone with my Sheath frustrations. 😊

I haven't received a revised copy (waiting for the Synthesis button update to request both replacements), but I feel the more you use the Sheath with magsafe accessories/charging the more visible the identation becomes. For users that do not use magsafe, they might never notice it as an issue.

I had several colors of the Sheath with the 13 Pro, and each time I could see a slight indentation in the magsafe area with extended usage (sometimes it did take weeks to develop). I highly doubt they can fix it completely, but with the move to the felt lining it's just become more apparent in less time it seems.

If mine was as bad as the other pics posted it would bother me. I asked 3 people if they see a ring on the back and they all said no. I see it cause I know it’s there.

It’s an f’ing shame.

Didn’t know it was an issue with previous model Sheaths without the felt lining.

I don’t mind a slight ring like the way mine is now.

To me it might have a lot to do with the material they use to make the Sheath back which is different than the Synthesis.

I decided to return the Bandwerk case. Gorgeous to look at but just way too heavy and I just didn't find it comfortable to hold. For how much it cost it needed to be perfect in every way to justify the cost. I will be buying their performance case when the updated button version comes out.

Amazon is finally carrying other colors of the Spigen Style Armor case. I bought a silver one to try out.

That midnight indigo looks sweet. Have you ever used the Style Armor?

I have not. I did try their Classic C1 but returned it. I found it too cheap/plasticky feeling and the buttons were very mushy. It looked incredible though.

The style armor looks to keep the very comfortable shape of the C1 but with a more traditional construction style. That should hopefully mean good buttons and feel like a normal TPU case.

I love the Mag Armor.
