Going to check out the Gram28 leather cases since they come in today but recently I've been using the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Frosted. I just love that case for some reason. Just checks the boxes and I don't even mind it being a little slippery.

Spigen seems to have a good lineup right now. I'm debating on buying either the ultra hybrid frosted or the iPhone 1 quasi-lookalike style armour.

Just when I thought Mous had the worst company branding
its not even company branding. the numbers represent Style number, Material provider, and Material type. Each of their products have different number codes to correspond. I dont mind it personally, theres so much other things to mind about it though

So my two original aspen cases have been held up for up to 2 weeks in the warehouse but soon as I got the email notifying me of the hold up, I ordered Andar’s limited edition/new release turquoise aspen case. It left the warehouse the day after I ordered lmao.

Anyway, initial impressions are good for the most part.

I love:
- the colour (the turquoise is gorgeous even more so in person)
- the smell of the leather
- the buttons (these are some of the most tactile feeling and clicks buttons I’ve used. Not too hard and not too sensitive)
- the speaker and mic cut outs are accurate
- how easy it is to put the phone in and take the phone out of the case, yet at the same the phone feels nice and snug inside
- just the right amount of lip for the screen and the camera bump
- MagSafe magnets are pretty strong (not the strongest though)

What I don’t like:
- how slippery it feels in the hand. Like a bar of soap man!!! Hoping it starts to get a bit more grippy over time.
- the price and cost of shipping
- how long my original order is taking!!! Grrrr…

Anyways here are some photos. Any questions please feel free to ask away.

Whilst I’m currently liking the Aspen, 🍊 is going to always be my vibe… View attachment 2330250

I need Nomad to make this in a slim rugged similar on how they do slim watch bands. Love this case, put dumped it because ti was just too bulky.

Just give me a Ultra Orange in the sport case already Nomad cmon ...missng the boat entirely

I’d also like to see that happen. Would rather the sport case at the gym. Rugged is a bit much but I can’t go past the colour!

I have an issue with the decoded leather case. I orderded one, which had a badly cut usb port, it was crooked and too big. They quickly sent me a replacement, but I found someone concerning, the metal ring is completly exposed on the inside of the case, and it is even a little bit raised, which means it rests on the back glass. I find this concerning, since it could scratch and potentially break the glass. Could anyone with the same case tell me if it is like that in their case? Here are some pictures comparing both the old one, which they requested me to cut down instead of sending back, and the new one.

The old one has the ring covered in cloth, the new one doesn't.

The metal feels highter than the cloth.

On top of that, the cloth covering the buttons is missing in the new one, is this intended? View attachment 2326689

View attachment 2326690Thanks!

My black leather Decoded looks like your first one, metal ring covered, lining over the buttons.

IMG_2388.jpeg

However, my Decoded Silicone is different: the ring is exposed inside and the buttons don’t have the lining:

Photos - 13 of 14.jpeg

My leather is on more than my silicone, but I’ve not noticed an issue so far. Neither feel like the ring is raised inside, although you do hear the contact between the phone and the metal when you slide it in: I was slightly unnerved the first time I heard this, but it was (still is) nothing to worry about (in my opinion of course).

One point I would note, is that my leather came about 6 weeks before I could buy the orange in the UK, so that’s a fairly big gap between the manufacturing of both. I scuffed the back of my leather the other day, am tempted to replace the it with another black leather because it’s just annoying; *if* I can get away with it haha, I’ll order a second and compare.

Hope that helps.

I have the andar turquoise too and completely agree with your comments. It’s a beaut of a case.

I was also looking at a moft wallet, how’s your experience been with it? Worth it?

Got the Synthesis yesterday in celestial blue. Doesn’t have the updated buttons but I’m ok with them until the new release comes out. Not as bad as I remembered.

I had the Synthesis before and it was my favorite case until I returned it really for no legit reason. The buttons were the same as this version and are ok. In the meantime I’ve been running the Sheath.

Couldn’t wait to get the Synthesis back because I thought it would take the crown as my favorite case again. Like I said IMO opinion the matrix grips are the best grippage in the business.

I’ve only been running the Synthesis for a bit but so far I have to give the slight edge to the Sheath.

Some differences in specs that I notice between the 2 is the Synthesis is not noticeably wider and not noticeably thinner in depth. Both seem to be the same height. Both weigh the same. Basically the same specs. Which is weird. It’s got to be the felt liner in the Sheath. Also which isn’t significant for me but might be to some is I think the Sheath is very slightly more boxy than the Synthesis. For me doesn’t affect the feel in the hand.

Which do I like better so far? I like the Sheath better. ((I do have a very slight unnoticeable condom ring from using a MagSafe accessory overnight. It doesn’t bother me even a little bit. However if I was or will become a heavier MagSafe user then this would change if the condom ring gets worse because a noticeable condom ring is aesthetically ugly)).

What do I like the Sheath better? This is my experience others may differ.

1- I didn’t think I would like the less grippy all around texture but I like it better. Feels better in the hand for me to have a consistent texture. I always thought as long as I have good grip on the sides that’s all I need until I got the Sheath. The Sheath is not a slippery case but if you are comparing side grippage it’s less grippy than the Synthesis.

2- Sheath feels “softer” vs hard plastic? I like that the Sheath “feels” not as “plasticy” like the Synthesis does if that makes sense.

3- Once I find a case I usually stick with it. However I prefer that the Sheath is much more easier to remove. I like to take my phone out of the case at least once a day during the work week and blow out the ports etc of my iPhone and to get dust out of a case with the compressed air hose we have in the auto shop. Takes like 10 seconds bam done

4- The Sheath gives me that Apple Silicone form factor feel without being silicone. Also gives me a somewhat Magpul vibe.

It boggles my mind how close the 2 are in specs. There’s really no separation from the 2. The Synthesis is suppose to more rugged but they both seem equally rugged in different ways. (Not that they are considered rugged case you know what I mean)

Also got the Pitaka Moonrise now and a couple of notes if anyone was wondering:

I got the Moonrise (MagEZ 5) and the previous gen "Starpeak" (MagEZ 4) and honestly i can not really feel a weight or thickness difference on the Phone.

Weight Numbers from Pitaka:
MagEZ 5: 13g "min" (not sure if the min was always on the website or they added it later)
MagEZ 4: 18~23g

My measured weights:
MagEZ 5: 16g
MagEZ 4: 19g

Seems like my 4 is on the lower end of the scale and the 5 on the higher end, which puts them pretty close together.

I do like that the Pitaka Logo on the Starpeak is starting to wear off.

Honestly both cases are amazing if you just want a minimal case and a great fit for the blue titan. If you already got a MagEZ 4, you are not missing out.

I used to go naked with every iPhone until now, because i hate the added weight and thickness.
But this phone is so slippery that i can't hold it onehanded. And these cases add plenty of grip and i can barely feel a thickness and weight difference. which makes them perfect for me. And a really like how they "feel" to touch.
Definitely can't agree that Aramid is slippery. At least on these cases it isn't.

Here are some pictures. Sadly lighting conditions were bad. I feel like they look better in real life.
Probably should have cleaned the Starpeak at the bottom 😅

If I worked in an auto shop I’d be getting something better than a sheath, like a symmetry
I don’t really think there is a big of a diffence between those 2 cases. Had the green symmetry and send it backRight away. Why? Sharp edges, and came of fairly easy. Had several versions before (for my 11 , 12 and iPhone 13). This was the first I returned. Had green one, color was not what I expected. Maybe because I bought an early version that caused these problems and now the 15 is largely available they might have fixed the looseness.

As long as you don’t use you’re phone as some kind of tool I think there is nothing to worry about. In my opinion protection against drops must be ok, that’s the thing what most likely would go wrong the most.

Absolutely love the moft wallet (and their Movas case too!). The wallet is so convenient for me to carry my drivers licence and travel card), as all my debit/credit cards are in my phone. I do sometimes carry my physical debit/credit cards but usually when I travel, and they end up in a bigger wallet or card holder. The added ability to use as a kickstand is a godsend with a toddler too.

Have you gotten much use with the white Moft case? I’m curious about the white vegan leather of Moft & Andar. Does it change color/get dirty at all?

Yes I have. It’s a regular for me at work (during in office days 2-3 days a week). The white is remarkably remained relatively close to the same colour it was since I took it out of the box.

Really enjoying the Andar. For me, this and the Bullstrap are easily my favorite leather cases I've used this year. Really a coin flip to which I prefer. Glad to have this Andar in full rotation.

I have the same Andar. I also bought their leather conditioner. Do you use that or any other conditioner on it?

I’ve got the exact same one, love my Andar case! So much in fact I bought the matching MacBook case and AirPods case, as well as a spare camel tan phone case just in case.
