It’s highly subjective, but I would think for many of the case fanatics on this thread—who are likely to be detailed oriented individuals—it probably ranks as a major flaw.

The irony with Caudabe is that their tagline is “Minimalist Perfection”.

I would like to see people post pics of their Sheaths in a regular setting with no flash, no zoom, no exposed light. Just lay it on a table and take a pic straight up.

So my replacement Sheath came today. Finally, finally it’s a good case. The buttons are clicky and responsive well and that was the missing piece for me.

My top 2 are now the Caudabe Sheath and the Otterbox Core. Sheath is much slimmer but I really have enjoyed the Core for the last week or so, so will probably alternate between the 2.
Any trace of the c ring on the back?

Please report back if the MagSafe indent shows up after you’ve used it for a bit.

Interestingly, I just took my V2 Sheath out of its box to do this for you and the indent is gone. At least in my instance, it seems it only shows while on the phone, which leads me to believe it’s related to the tension of the case while on the phone, and perhaps also to heat emanating from the back of the phone.

People who have Sheaths post your pics of the back with no exposed lighting, no zooming no sloping the case, no fancy schmancy stuff, just an average Joe run of the mill shot. Just point and shoot.

Here’s mine about 8” away. Yea but doesn’t bother me.

Thanks for posting the pic. I can see the indent, which would bother me; I’m glad it’s not an issue for you. Enjoy your case!

You know, sometimes things are very obvious to the naked eye but very hard to photograph. Like a dent in your car door, stands out like a sore thumb, but good luck getting a picture of it unless you get it in the perfect lighting.

Besides, there were several sheath photos many pages back now where they were just taking photos of their cases and users on here pointed out the MagSafe ring.

But beyond all of that, does it matter? For what we are paying for these cases we should be allowed to be critical. Although, it’s funny how when I go back and look at my iPhone 7 how terrible the cases are, and let’s not even talk about that screen protector haha.

Doesn’t bother me even a little bit. Couple days ago I asked 3 people if they see something and all 3 said no and looked at me like I was crazy because I kept saying “don’t you see that there”.

Edit: it’s much different in person, you really have to look to see it and that’s even hard. I assume on a photo more visible.

Nothing on my new Sheath. Really is perfect our the box, I hope over the next few days with use of MagSafe for charging and a popsocket it remains that way. It would annoy me but this case has reminded me why I love the Caudabe range.

I just wish this hasn’t taken 4 attempts to get it bang on the money. Granted Caudabe have taken a hit on items and shipping costs to the UK, but that has definitely kept me as a customer for the future, for now. This can’t happen again or I’m done with their cases

Ok ladies and gents, I give you my end of year top 5. Over 450 pages of quality conversation, different opinions, and the occasional sarcasm has been a joy and pleasure.

I have to first give an honorable mention to the Spigen Ultra Hybrid. For only $20 this case is simply amazing. The fit, grip, weight, and proper cutouts you can't beat it. I rotate cases so often than I don't see this case even yellowing for me. For the price, ehhh, I'll just buy another if so.

Coming in at #5 - Apple Silicone case (I have Cypress and Winter Blue)
Man this case has been a treat to use. Like the Spigen, the fit, grip, and weight always draws me back to this case. I just love how lightweight this case feels. Not sure if Apple spent more time on this case, but seems wayyy better than previous years. Even in the link department lol ...This is def going to be one of my pool/summertime cases down here in Florida where I live.

This has been my go to rugged case. Not marketed as such, but for me, I feel this case is built like a tank. Super tight fit, nice amount of weight, and the MagSafe strength has been phenomenal. The grip pattern is very well too. A very impressive case. With all the discount codes out there, it's a must add to the collection.

Coming in at #3 - We got a toss up between Bullstrap and the Andar leather case
I had a really hard time choosing one as both check off soooo many boxes. Both have superior leather quality. Both are thin enough and has a very lightweight feeling. Both have some decent MagSafe strength for a leather case. One day I enjoy the Bullstrap with the open bottom, but then some days I am loving the Andar. Sadly my Andar does creak in the bottom corner, so hopefully a replacement will do the trick. Which ever you choose, I think you'll be satisfied.

This is where it might get controversial lol...however for me this case has literally checked every box for my needs. Lightweight, great fitting case, a MagSafe monster, and the glossy back provides some outstanding grip. Zero issues with the glossy back as this case has been used and abused a lot the last few months. Sure you'll get some smudges, but a simple wipe and boom, looks brand new again. I just need an Ultra Orange color.

Coming in at #1 - Frosty and Aramid Phone Rebel cases
Ok we all know I am a huge frosty fan lol, but honestly the aramid has gotten a lot of usage right along side of frosty. The aramid has a much better grip than the frosty, but I easily prefer the look of frosty. The fact I can change around some components to make the case feel completely different, makes this case(s) take my top spot. It does check all the boxes for me too. I look forward to receiving the natty buttons next week.

Is the c ring really that bad to consider it a major flaw? I am not a MagSafe power user and only use a Popsocket PopGrip round occasionally.

I can’t see having both cases, prefer the softer feel and form factor of the Sheath, so leaning towards exchanging the Synthesis for it. The buttons aren’t terrible on the Synthesis, but they could be better and we know they are better on the Sheath.

Buttons will be updated on the Synth middle next month. I will get a replacement then. The Sheath is great and I’m sure you’ll love it. It is a major flaw for me because I’ve been rocking sheath for so many years and this is the first year of the c ring and honestly not a great look imo. Bothers me but I still own it and wear it because it does have a lot of positives as well.

Awesome photos (as always) and a great write up too! It took me a while to settle on it, but I’m in 100% agreement on your number one pick. I’m not usually a clear case person, but I may have to add a Frosty to go along with my aramid.

Happy New Year!

Here you go, natural light only. The first gray one on the left has been in use off and on since I got the 15PM in early November, charged via cable and wireless. The others are the new versions, haven't seen much use, and appear much as they did when received.

L) original gray version - M) revised gray version - R) revised black version

Lanyard and folding lense up next! Anyone want to take bets on how many months? Lol I need me one of them folding lenses after having it on one of the esr cases I had

Definitely noticeable on the first two right away, the third one I can see it but it’s more subtle, could be the color maybe?

Received my replacement Bandwerk Classic Case in Space Black today after the first one arrived completely drenched in water like it was dropped in the rain and the screwdriver was rusted.

Kudos to Bandwerk on their great customer service, they had no hesitation in sending a replacement and it only took a few days to arrive from Germany!

The case overall looks really good, feels great, however it is a little on the heavier side and a little wide but you do get used to it.

The buttons have a great click to them and the design of the case reminds me of the iPhone 4 series which I really missed!

Great Pics and review of each case. What happen to the black apple silicone case since you decided to keep the winter and cyprese? I am not usually a clear case person but every time i see that phone rebel frosted case I am so tempted to buy one epecially how I see you customizing it. Also with the Aramid version do you notice if the metal piece at the back of the phone hits the phone or anything Or scratches it?

Seek and ye shall find, grasshopper... ;)

The black one does seem to hide the ring better. I have to wonder how obvious that circular impression is to the average iPhone owner who slaps on a case and pays no attention to it after the install?

The fact that it may get more obvious with use is a problem and it will be interesting to see if Caudabe can rectify the issue.

I said in another post I showed mine to 3 people physically and they didn’t notice anything and thought I was crazy lol. I kept asking “are you blind, you can’t see it, it’s right there”.

Is it a fact it may get worse though?
