I've been looking at this one, because unlike the spigen one with pink edges that look really pale so that the pink will get lost on a SG phone... the ESR one looks like the color is fuller... so will stand out more. But I was worried about the quality, as I've not heard of ESR or have not seen reviews for them.... So I assume, since you are rebuying that you've been happy and the case has held up well?

do you, by chance, use one of their glass screen protectors? if you do, do you like them? work well? no bubbles?

Well I've dropped my iPhone X several times and it's been fine. However they do say the case is supposed to be scratch proof but mine does have a lot of scratches on the back. The main thing though is that it has protected the phone.

I do use a a full coverage glass screen protector but it's from a different manufacturer and it too has worked well in protecting my phone. In fact after several drops the screen protector itself is still intact and in perfect condition. That said all the drops have been on carpet.

Also I did just order another case which I should get tomorrow. It's a Spigen and I got it on Amazon.

Max

It's weird because I've seen people rant and rave about how great their Apple leather cases are. There's a guy in another thread right now saying he ordered saddle brown leather again for his Max because he loved how his previous one 'aged' so nicely.

I had saddle brown leather before and it was nasty looking after a couple of months. Had to bin it as it looked dirty which isn't really appropriate at work. Anyway, I got an olive silicone instead which still looks new after maybe 7/8 months now. My other half has kept his blue Apple leather case for over a year and it's super tatty looking - scratches dug out over the back of it and it looks like the top layer is peeling off, like some fake or cheap high street leather would, although he's a lot harder on his so maybe it's not entirely fair.

Not sure how to reconcile our leather experiences with other peoples, but anyway, I agree with you about Apple's leather cases, they just haven't held up well for us. Much prefer silicone. Just a shame they don't offer that lovely green colour in it. Maybe they'll add it later in the season.
That's the beauty of natural leather. The patina it forms is as unique as you are. Not everyone likes the design aesthetic which is totally fine of course. I disagree completely that it somehow looks inappropriate at work though.

1) Protection
2) I don't have a need to advertise to everyone else, what kind of phone I have.

I can get just as much protection from a clear case.
Also It's not case of advertising to others for me. I personally like to see the colour of my iPhone. Why have different colour choices if people are just going to hide the back of the phone anyway in a coloured case.

And want to give a thanks to this thread. I ordered a saddle brown leather case (will be my third from 7 --> X --> Xs max) but also discovered loopy cases here. I ordered one and I can't wait to get it! I think it's going to be especially awesome for handling the larger phone. Thanks all. :)

If you can get just as much protection with clear, versus Apple leather, go for it. I like the feel of the leather in my hand.

A lot of people around here do appear to be hung up on showing off their phone. Hence my comment.

For me personally, who only prefers minimalist cases on my devices, the Pitaka is the way to go. Thin, sleek, sexy, durable and barely adds any weight to the phone!

Just a heads up for this looking to purchase directly from their online store, they currently have the XS and the XS Max cases up for pre-order for 10% discount and FREE shipping. You can also stack the code (PITAKA10) for an additional 10% off.

I get that you might not want everyone else to know what you’ve got. I myself have had concerns. However, many clear cases (especially Spigen) offer superb protection.

They are too slippery.
That’s a good observation. However, I have found crystal clear cases with texture help avoid the slipping issue.

Which one provides excellent non-slip protection as good as a Speck Grip + being clear? I would like to try one...I have the Speck Grip on my 8+ and love it for Non-Slip.

What do you all think for the Xs Max Gold? Stone Sillicone or Taupe Leather? Leaning Taupe personally.

Brown Saddle Leather is a possibility but I've already done that with Gold before.

How about Product Red leather case from Apple?
