Sure thing. I think the only real difference between the two versions is the cut out. I currently have the original on my phone now, my only gripe ever about this case is the perceived lack of protection. I know what the company claims, but I definitely do not want to try it out
does anyone want to guess the level of protection? to me, it can't be worse than some of the cases [shown below] i've used with the exception of maybe a little bit less lip. (maybe 0.2-0.4mm less lip than the one shown below for the iPhone 7)... all of these phones suffered from a handful of drops in the couple of years i owned each phone/case. all falls were no greater than 4 ft.
my hope is that the Sheath offers similar protection to these cases below (3-4 ft drop) i'm guessing that the Sheath has to offer similar protection as my iPhone 5/6 cases, but maybe the Luvvitt shown below has a little more corner cushion...
i definitely feel as if the Sheath has more protection than the Apple Leather case, do you guys agree?
my old cases...
iphone 7 (Luvvitt Clear Grip) --- maybe a little better protection with raised corners? ... i really liked this case except that it left marks on the back of my black phone which i can't tell is due to some chemical reaction or tiny particles that marred the black finish (the matte black model). i am slightly tempted to get another one of these for the iPhone XS. the only problem is beyond the marks on the backside of my phone (probably wouldn't happen with glass, esp if i bought a $5 protector to put over the back glass) is that the back scratched up easily...but great grip and gave a nice look to the phone even if it did look scratched and beat up.
iPhone 6 (Insignia soft shell case) was bought as a placeholder from Best Buy: insignia case...just a thin shell that was fairly grippy, didn't show fingerprints, had reasonable buttons and a small lip.
iPhone 5: belkin sheer grip (horrible buttons but thin profile

Ok, i see the slippery suit comparisons. Lol.
The microfiber back actually adds the grip, it’s def the sides that struggle in that category
I also see the hype around the buttons.
that does look nice. i wonder how it will hold up in time (the microfiber). this is tempting me to consider the SlipperySuit. any good coupon codes?
still also thinking about the Symmetry and Mous Limited 2.0... the drop tests of the latter are very impressive, but i haven't heard too many reports about buttons. after having the Sheath and my previous Luvvitt case, i value tactile buttons that are close to replicating the naked button feel.
