Which case will you be getting for your new XS/XS Max? [MERGED]

Sheath also protects bottom edge.

Interestingly enough, i'm finding my 2nd generation Sheath for XS (proper cutouts on bottom) is grippier than my 1st gen one. not that its hugely different, and maybe i'll have to compare after several weeks, but i do feel the 2nd one is slightly grippier.

Another real world Sheath drop test yesterday. Dropped my XS in the green Sheath from about 4 feet. Landed face-down on tile floor with a splat! No damage to the phone or glass screen protector but it scared the crap out of me. The impact was enough to toggle the mute switch off.

Thank you Sheath, but I switched back to the Mous case for today.

Good to hear another positive Caudabe Sheath/drop experience! Do you think you'll switch back to the Sheath from the Mous?

I've swapped back to the Sheath for the past few days and found I still love the slimness of the Sheath.

But finally last night, I switched to my fake Apple silicone case. I still love the soft touch feel even though its a lint magnet. This morning, I find it goes in and out of my pockets a bit more difficult. But depending on how dry my hands are, the grip ranges from slippers to grippy. Very strange. Too bad the case is open bottom like the official Apple case. And compared to my 3 cases I currently own, it feels heavier too.

But now I'm more interested in the Miracase since it sounds the same as the fake Apple silicone case I have but protection all around the case...

Hi all, does anyone have the grey Synthesis for the XS? I read somewhere in here that the black version showed scratches very easily, so I'm wondering if it's the same deal with the grey. Caudabe is having a 25% off sale that ends tonight, and I'm thinking of taking advantage of it!

The stealth black certainly scratched easily. (I posted pics) would love to hear if gray with frosted back is similar or not.

Alright, I took the plunge and ordered the grey Synthesis and navy Sheath. Will report back once they arrive!
 
I decided to give 1 more clear case a chance and bought an Xdoria defense shield (not the lux, the one with the clear back). It's the closest to keeping a clear back case I've come, I like everything about it. Good grip, looks really good IMO and it has (supposedly) 10ft drop protection.

The only issue, it doesn't work with my car mount! I have a proclip car mount (about $80 or so) so I'm not getting rid of the mount. If you don't know Proclip, the phone slides into a slot and plugs into the cable that's part of the mount. This case doesn't slide in easily and is almost too thick for it to plug into the cable. So sad but I'm going back to the solidsuit and officially giving up on clear backed cases.

My one last hope for being able to see the back of my phone is the k11 I ordered WAY back in september. Thanotech keeps claiming that it'll be released in january but I'm not holding my breath.

Of the many, many, many cases I've tried for this Max the only 3 keepers for me have been Apple Leather, Sheath, and Solidsuit.

If you want a Navy Blue Sheath for the XS now, it will have the old speaker cutouts.

they got mine right on the 3rd try. although the transition between the bottom and back has a sharp seam. (i've filed it down to make it smoother although i was reluctant to do it too aggressively so i still have a little bit of a transition lip...but not as sharp anymore.
 
Anybody want an almost free gear4 picadilly clear case for an XS? I bought one on eBay for my Max but it was for the smaller xs. I’ll send it for the price of shipping plus a dollar - $8

Seems like a nice case, easy to grip sides but I obviously can’t tell you more than that since I don’t have a phone that fits.

Man, 2 weeks now on the phone loops. Still nothing. Canadian postal service to USPS. NOT a good combo.

The leather in the back is very similar to any inlaid leather. It’s hard to capture the smooth transitions of a full leather case.

It has good grip and flat sides which I liked. But never got a chance to use it in the wild since it felt too protective for me. Which sounds silly I know.

I'm thinking about picking one up (in the same color). How's the thickness and button feedback compared to the Apple leather case or the Caudabe Sheath? I've been watching reviews on YouTube and everyone mentions how thin and tactile the buttons are, but I'm sure they were sent the cases for free, so I can't trust them.

EDIT: The above question applies to Hooterville as well.

I remember I really wanted this case, but something changed my mind. For the life of me, I can't figure out what that reason was. On paper, everything looks too good to be true...

Finally got the correct sheath but it has a nick on the edge and the raised lip around the screen isn’t as defined as my old one. Just going to use that one and keep new one as a spare.
