Having had both, the Nomad marks way easier, worse the bottom of the case gives you alligator pinky after 5 mins, horrible to hold if that's how you hold your phone with pinky on bottom :)
Took me 3 goes to get one that wasn't marked out of the box or the leather where meets the rubber sides wasn't seamed even.
Thanks, glad you said that, I haven't really seen any negative reviews anywhere.

Nomad is not too bulky and sides good to hold, buttons excellent although near flush. I have the Mujjo now i have a XR as Apple don't make one.
It's nice leather and not slippery, doesn't mark easily, buttons good, only fault is it tapers too near 0 on the bottom sides.
Not sure if they all do it, mine was free from Amazon so can't complain.

Not sure which Evutec you got but I switched from my Sheath to the Evutec AER or whatever it’s called. Grip and size and everything is perfect for me.

I had to order a Sheath because of all the positive comments. I do like it, but I agree 100% the Evutec is better in grip and possibly protection. Let's hope I never have to test that!

Even though I cancelled my preorder thanotech still sent me a k11. I like it, it’s not perfect but it looks very nice. The buttons were mushy, I had to add some tape to the inside of each button and now they’re cclicky. I’ll be keeping it but I did contact them to let them know they sent me a free case. If they ask me to pay them I will, it’s definitely the best bumper available for the max.

I have the blue and the green Sheath and they have the correct speaker cutouts

Lucky you ! got my blue XS Max Sheath today and the speaker cutouts were not correct. Very disappointing after I wrote them and specifically asked if they had the proper cut outs and got the response below.

Thanks for reaching out! Glad you're so excited about the Sheath. That issue has been resolved on both the XS and XS Max, so your case should be correct. But here's some background on the symmetrical cutouts in case you're interested: In order to have products available simultaneous with the launch of the new iPhones, we have to start our tooling process many months in advance. This time the schematics for the new iPhones seemed to indicate that the speaker holes on the new iPhones would indeed be asymmetrical. It was definitely a head scratcher, as that sort of thing didn't seem very Apple-like for a company that obsesses over details the way they do. But, since Apple doesn't release any details prior to launch, there was no way to confirm this ahead of time. And so there was a raging debate behind the scenes among people in the industry as to how to address this. The sensible solution was to do what we - and pretty much almost everyone else - did, which was to use symmetrical cutouts. Going with asymmetrical cutouts would've meant that, in the event that the holes on the new iPhones ended up being symmetrical, our products would be covering some of the speaker holes. Going symmetrical ensures that no functionality is blocked. And in this particular case, it also leaves the antenna band covered which may or may not help improve reception to some small degree.

Congrats if you've gotten this far! :) We love when customers do their homework and care about the details, so there's no such thing as TOO SERIOUSLY in our opinion - ha! Let us know what you end up thinking of it!

When you see the Sheath installed on the phone, you’ll still question the drop rating. I love the case and to be truthful, a phone can crack in any case.

Anyone dropped the sheath on anything substantial?

When i had my max i had the sheath and it fell off a cupboard onto the bottom opened draw, and landed on the side and took a big chip out of the glass screen protector, if it was in my OB symmetry probably wouldn't of done anything as the sides are stiff, sheaths come away from phone easily.
Didn't stop me from getting one for my XR though.

That’s a good tip about the tape and the buttons. I switched back to my Evutec. I think I’m gonna send the bumper back. After using it a day, for me it makes the phone a bit wide. Also lost some grip with this case, and resting my pinky while holding the phone felt a bit more awkward. Maybe I just needed to get used to it, but I found myself missing my Evutec.

Yeah, if they made this case detachable it would be the perfect case.

I'm hoping that they will, but they said it would depend on sales of the current ones. Not sure how they'll figure that some, like us, end up settling for material, or design, but at least I made it clear I'd want both in the same case.

I also had the Zover leather folio in my possession briefly, before sending it back due to a mistake in the item description saying that it was detachable. They do actually make a detachable leather folio, but they updated the design to include a latching tab, which I dislike and didn't want. The leather folio portion of that case is pretty nice as well, but I don't think the TPU case portion is as well done as Sheildon's, so I'd still prefer the latter.

Thanks, glad you said that, I haven't really seen any negative reviews anywhere.

Best Buy carries the Nomad Rugged in at least some of their stores, albeit the earlier version meant for the X, not the updated one for the XS. But you can get a feel for what it's like if there's one nearby that stocks it.

I already scratched mine so I can't send it back, but it's a little disappointing after using it for a day. I realized that the back is still lower than the camera so it leaves the camera really vulnerable if dropped. It's got raised corners but unless it landed perfectly flat it seems like it'd be really easy for the camera to hit first in a drop. I can't send mine back since it's not brand new but I won't be using it. Too bad because it looks really good and it's got the best fit of any bumper I've tried.

Spigen Tough Armor XP for XS, XS Max, and XR redesigned for the first time since the iPhone 4.

$17.99 on Amazon for all with a coupon code of 7% that showed up for me..

That looks good, but I'm not seeing the 7% coupon?

how do you like it? How is the fit on the phone and grip?

Thinking about getting it myself
I havent tried it (still out and about). The display unit was very promising. Nice to touch and feels solid. Initial signs are pretty good even my wife liked it lol.

looking forward to how it fits the phone. Hope there isn't any "pulling" away

Spigen on Amazon now has to charge sales for my area. My sales tax rate is 7% so it may have been a targeted promotion to essentially discount sales tax.

The grip is phenomenal on this case but it has flaws. The bottom part and the mute cut out area pulls. It doesn’t have enough lip if you are using screen protector. The lightening port cut out is not centred. Im still on the edge. Will use it for a day or two before i decide what to do. But yes grip is very very good. It has that rough kind of texture to it.

Thank you. Sad that it pulls away. Not for me then.

Might go look at the OtterBox figura

Can only get the Figura from Apple here, have one coming next week. At least can be returned if no good. There is a new statement case too. Looks maybe thicker though and not sure about the back?

edit, cancelled the Figura and just ordered the Black modern statement, saw its got a leather back.
