Defiantly not upgrading this year and will ride it out another year until the 2020 model. Seeing even this years camera has been changed I’d rather rock by beautiful XS Max case collection and wait for a serious upgrade before abandoning my sexy collection :) How many people are doing the same? #savethecaseCollection #casesmarts

I’m not upgrading this year. I love my Max and want Qualcomm back in the iPhones, so next year I’ll upgrade.

Same. I’m not switching phones again to get the same subpar Intel signal. I want Qualcomm back!

Instead, I’m gonna upgrade my Apple Watch Series 1!

Hopefully one year I won’t upgrade anything and be done with all these payments.

Hey does anyone know if the Mous Limitless 2.0 case is supposed to be compatible with wireless charging? I tried two different chargers and neither one of them will charge more than a minute after starting to.

I’m not planning on upgrading but then, I always say that and always end up upgrading. I’m going to try not too. Have a load of cases so it’d be a waste not to be able to use them.

How is the pitaka? Been eyeing it for a long time given its reputation and that is has a dedicated mag mount.. but it just doesn’t seem like it would do well it the iPhone was dropped. How is the grip?

It's not as "grippy" as I thought it might be. I haven't really used it yet, besides trying it on the phone. Don't want to use it in case I return. My impression is that is nice thin expensive case with minimal protection. Feels good, but not great in the hand. The thinness of the case "adds" to the grip factor. I was expecting more after all my research and wanted a reason to go skinny and basically careless. I would cringe if I dropped it and start praying even before it lands on the ground. Their Magcase Pro might be more protective with an increase side grip, but I haven't tried that one. I am weary of their customer service. They are very polite and working with me now over the previous fiasco. I'll update once resolved and if keep it I'll update on real wold use.

The Evutec AER Karbon seems to still be my go to case. Fantastic grip. I feel safe if a drop occurs, and it a has a few times. In fact the case went for a ride on my hood for a few blocks and the 2nd turn went flying off....phone was fine and case wasn't scratched up except for a minor scuff on a corner. Magnetic mounts is secure and no issues with wireless charging. If I try a Pitaka Magcase Pro I'll compare. I expect them to be close in features and form.

Out of the following cases, Evutec seems to be the one I use daily. Listed from my favorite down my others:

Rhinosheild Solid Suit black- Surprised on how much I like/liked. Needs "grip slips" on the sides, but a really nice slim protective case.

Apple silicone black- Grippy, but slippery...very weird. I have a love/ hate with the case recently.

Vaja Grip floater leather blue- A nice luxurious leather case, tried to love it, but always worried about if I dropped it, would it survive. It also seems slightly thicker than Pitaka and I would think this has better drop protection. Grip is pretty good due to thinness and leather.

Nomad black leather- Above average grip, ok leather. I ended up modifying it with a "loopy". I would probably use this more often, but doesnt like qi charging and too lazy to take off nightly.

Caudabe Shealth blue- Above average grip, but not even close to the Evutec. I don't know why but I haven't put it into rotation or even out of the box except for 5 min to try it. In fact I have two one with proper holes and one without. It gets raves on this form so I had to purchase, but can't explain why I don't use.

Apple leather tan- Still in the box. For some of my past phones, I loved the leather. The grip developed as it aged and got worn in. I switched my love to Apple silicone and as stated above that love affair is ending.

Caseology clear- Never used ( donated by a fellow case addict on this form)- No grip

Some of my case were from other case addicts in this forum. I guess us addicts know what we all go through in the search for a perfect case. I hate that some nice cases just sit in my drawer. I look and just see how much money I spent sitting there unused. I'm sure a few of you have this same issue. I am pretty sure I'm going to just sell most of them make up for the cost for the Pitaka. Waiting for a final email from customer service to see if they can make things right.

Thank you so much. I didn’t even know about the evutec.. i might try it out soon. Sounds like it has really good grip and is rather slim. I just got an apple leather case i am trying out!

I am thinking the same way for Qualcomm modem and 5G feature. Hopefully, 1 TB memory will be available by then. 512 GB is no longer enough/obsolete for me.

I grabbed a Evutec aer carbon on amazon for $29.99 with a $10 coupon! If anyone is interested -

I hope you like it...the addded bonus is the car mount.

If you wanted ultimate grip then you should look at the Speck Presdio Grip ( wait for a speck 30% off sale they have frequently, if not way overpriced at regular price.

I think Evutec has better features and a longer life span than Speck and the ridges are a pain for easy pocket removal.

Thanks! I do like grip, and I use my phone as a GPS everytime I get in the car so that will be nice compared to my current clasp style vent mount.

I had the Speck Grip on an iPhone 7 back in the day.. way to bulky for my taste. The first case I bought for my XS was a Mous limitless 2.0 leather based on some reviews. It is rated #1 on the website below, and I found it entirely way too bulky and lacking in grip, but others love it.

Not sure what to do with it other than sell it for a steal somewhere.

I always wanted to try that one, but I heard it didn't have any grip at all. I'm sure someone in this form will be glad to take it off your hands at a fair price. I've bought a few and saves the eBay fees for everyone. In fact my wife has a XS, maybe i should buy it from you ! She loves her speck grip, I wonder if she'd use it. I wish you had a Xmax, i'd trade you a few cases for it.

Did you already get the Evutec ? Is that what you were referring to you" like the grip" ? I feel responsible for steering you that way.

Yea I have a pretty high standard as far as grip is concerned. I listed it on the forum though with the magnetic mount for $35!

I don’t like the grip on the Mous at all. I tried it with my Max. But I got it for my wife and she’s fine with it. It was more cuz of the drop protection.

I love my Evutec! Only took it off to try the Nomad folio which I’m on now. But I just sold my friend on the Evutec and picked one up at Target. Which I checked this thread first - would have saved $10.

Oh man... I just got home for lunch to see the Evutec package outside my door.

I want to send you my upmost gratitude for steering me into buying this case. It is perfect, the grip is the best I have had, and the vent mount fits my car perfect. I immediately threw my Sheath and apple leather into a shoebox.

If this were reddit, you would have received gold.

I had the XS since January flipping through phone cases, today it ended.

Sounds amazing! How are the buttons and does the carbon fibre back show finger prints?

Buttons are spot on, they are just right. Carbon does not show as many finger prints as I anticipated but with any black phone, there will be some transfer of oils visible. Very minimal though!

Dang, now I'm tempted to get the Evutec AER. I used to use Evutec before switching to Pitaka since their snap-on cases are so similar (I had purchased the snap-on case, the full protection case, and a wood snap-on case). I've always liked the feel of Evutec and Pitaka cases because they're soft and grippy, kind of like a silicone case. I really disliked the old version of the full protection case for the iPhone 8 Plus because the buttons were very, very stiff, but based on the various comments I'm reading, it looks like they might have changed the design. My only hesitation is the logo on the back. I'm not a fan of logos on cases unless it's the Apple logo. The logo on the older generation cases was very minimal (it looked like a group of tear drops).

Can you post some pics of the Evutec?
