I got my solid suit yesterday and it's made me change my mind about the mous, I may end up returning the Mous now. The solid suit is a little slick still but no more so than the mous, and it has less of a lip at the bottom so it doesn't interfere as much with swiping up as the Mous lip does. It's still enough that even with a screen protector it is above the screen but not so much as to feel annoying.

My tally so far:
1. apple leather case = nice but slick, possibly sending it back in favor of a sena leather case that hasn't even shipped yet
2. caudabe sheath - a keeper, slim, good grip, all around good
3. catalyst impact - not bad but sent back because I'm concerned about the camera
4. spigen hybrid - sent back, just average
5. caseology legion - not bad, a little bulky but I'm keeping because it was only $3
6. mous 2.0 - good but the lip at the bottom is pretty high and after using the sheath and solid suit the mous lip just feels excessive and uncomfortable. IMO not worth anywhere near $60, will probably send back
7. Evolutive Labs Solidsuit - very good, slick sides but solid and the lip is small enough not to be in the way. I did add some traction tape to the sides, makes holding it much easier but blends in pretty well

On the way but don't know when: EvoLabs ModNX, Element Shadow and Sena Leather

Wow you like the SolidSuit enough to return the Mous? I really like my wife’s Mous but didn’t get one for myself. The SolidSuit intrigues me but I feel like I’ve been disappointed by Rhinoshield too many times. Do you have a Max?

Very interesting...Is the material they use Grippy/Tacky to prevent slippage?

Not as grippy as the Apple silicone case but it’s grippy:). Difficult to explain. It was grippier in the past (Iphone 6 times).
I’m very pleased with it.

Yes. They changed the material 1 year ago or so to make it slimmer.
It’s definetly slimmer than the previous ones and much better looking.
Another option would be to go for the full case, the Solidsuit

I'm looking at their site right now. They do look great and look well built but my #1 priority is Grippy...I may order one just because it does reak of that quality look...IMO!

You will not be disapointed! Let me know what you think of it once you get it.
You can even play with the combination of colors etc.

Here is a nice review of the new model:

I have the one without a backplate but they are identical.

Which do you like better, the silicone or the leather?

Normally the leather due to it not catching in my pockets and the buttons being better. However, this year I am using the silicone a lot more. My leather this time seemed really slippery. More than usual and the buttons were really stiff. Maybe I got a bad unit. Also last year I got a water spot on one my leather cases. I don’t really want to worry about that happening again so silicone it is for now. I’m hoping the Sheath will replace it though. We shall see.

I'll just stick to the RhinoShield Bumper for my XS Max :). Do this since the Iphone 4... can't stand cases...
https://rhinoshield.io/pages/shop/Apple?device=iphone-xs-max&category=crashguard-nx

Best protection I ever had for my Iphones and I do drop them a lot plus it doesn't ruin the aesthetics.

With all those drops you were lucky enough to have none of them hit the open back/front? Do you use front and back screen protectors?

Awesome summary. The NX is supposed to have better texture on the sides. Not sure if you watch Mobile reviews eh on YouTube but he goes into depth about it.

No screen protectors for me. I hate them.
I was lucky enogub not to drop it on a stone or something... it’s not like I’m looking for it:).
Mostly on solid flat ground drops 1-2/times every 2-3 weeks.
Btw watch this video:

The solid suit isn't exactly grippy but it is better than last years first version of the mod and the original crashguard. It's definitely not any worse than the Mous for grip. I liked the Mous until I had other cases to compare to it, I just can't get over the large lip at the bottom, it might be an ocd thing but I don't like the feel of swiping on it since I've gotten used to using the Sheath and Solidsuit.

I might keep the mous, I got it for only $44 because they were lower weeks ago and I had a discount code. Maybe I'll sell it here since they're now $60

I've been using Evolutive Labs products since they first came out and my wife has had a Playproof on all her phones. She's gotten much better but when she had a 6 she'd drop it nearly every day. Not on purpose but because she was careless, she'd fling it out of her lap getting out of the car, fling it onto sidewalks pulling it out of her purse, you get the idea. Her playproof's protected it from everything.

This is what I did to mine to make the grip better. It's grip tape marketed for gun grips but works great for everything:

I totally understand and given in our modern era people say crazy things with pages of fine print to get you to budge on buying a 50 dollar leather case. I honestly found it interesting so I took the plunge. I figured why not. The only time I see it failing would be if it lands perfectly on a sharp edge on the bottom near the speakers and charging port. Don’t hold me to his claim lol I’m just a regular customer and I fell for his pitch! There was so many friggen people at the grand opening it was a circus lol
I'm more interested in what you mean by 'AppleCare are pro leather case' ?

I’m glad I decided to go with Apple’s saddle brown leather case. Today, I just received the Waterfield fused case to go with it and I’m really liking it. Worth the wait.

Just received my caudabe lucid clear and totallee thin clear. Very very disappointed.
The caudabe case was decent, I had the iPhone X version so I knew what to expect. The one downside is that the case for xs max was way too snuggly. It was too tight of a fit and almost broke my nail trying to take it off.

The totallee case was NOT thin. It’s even thicker than caudabe and it was such poor quality. There were no precision speaker cut out and it was suppose to be the “new version”. It is definitely not a thin case, very disappointed and I don’t think I will ever purchase from them again.

This is interesting. I got my clear totallee thin case for my Max last week, and it’s very thin. Hard to imagine a case being any thinner. Only other clear case that I have read that would be comparable is the Peel case. I will say that the totallee doesn’t have the precise cutouts as of right now. But I emailed them and they said that they would send me the new version when it becomes available.

Caudabe Synthesis for me: https://www.caudabe.com/products/the-synthesis-iphone-x?variant=49563886031

The XS-specific variant hasn't been released yet and while I've read that the camera module is ever so slightly bigger and the speaker cutouts slightly different on the XS, I'm hopeful that this case has enough tolerance (which it appears it may, to me) to accommodate the XS (if not only temporarily for day 1 protection while I get a revised case).

I like this case because it's the only one I know of now for the X/XS that has a relatively minimal profile while offering some drop protection and a clear matte finish back so I can still see my phone (for the most part) and not with a fingerprint magnet clear back.

Evolutive Labs's Rhinoshield Playproof Clear used to be perfect for me because it had that clear matte finish back, but they stopped offering that with the iPhone X and it doesn't appear to be an option for the XS.
Following up on my initial post:
I've been rocking the Caudabe Synthesis iPhone X case for a while with the intent of ordering the XS version, but they've been out of stock and I got too impatient so I tried the Incase Pop Case II because the pics make the back look like a matte finish clear like the Lift case, but it turns out it was a glossy clear, so I was annoyed at the misleading pictures on their site. It was really too bad because I otherwise really liked the design of the case and how it felt. The white case in particular offered a really nice contrasting touch to my space gray phone.

I've since sent back the Incase for a return and ordered the matte black Case-Mate TOUGH case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FKL9C7T/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I like the idea of having full coverage with good drop protection but also a matte finish at least semi-transparent back so I can still see the phone. The Caudabe Synthesis fits the bill very well, but the iPhone X version's camera cutout is off just enough to bother me, haha.

The Case-Mate case advertises 10ft. drop protection which is more than enough for me, so I'm hopeful it will be the case that I like enough to stick with.

Otherwise, if this Case-Mate case doesn't work out, I'll just keep waiting for the Caudabe Synthesis to get back in stock for the iPhone XS or I'll cave in and get a Rhinoshield Mod NX. I've been a fan of Rhinoshield for a LONG time, but I just wish they made a matte finish clear back. Their Playproof Clear was really the perfect case for me on my 8+ so I was bummed to see that the new SolidSuit didn't have a matte clear back.

I just really hate how glossy-backed clear cases are such fingerprint magnets. It's also way easier to see dust underneath them.

Ordered Kulor case Thurs last week and arrived today. I really like the case and having the buttons exposed for my Silver XS Max. Was a bit tight to put on, especially at the bottom but that may loosen over time, well hopefully not too loose either, ha.

Someone on another forum pointed out the camera cutout is bigger than other cases which I didn’t even notice at first so the last picture is a bit of a close up of that.

I’m very impressed by this!! Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, me too! I know have the ‘old’ Nomad Rugged, which I love, and I was thinking about buying the updates version of that. However, I am considering this instead.

The quality of Nomad is always so good, but I promised myself to not buy any cases anymore... We will see. ;)

So far this Silk grip case is the best I’ve used. Ive tried half a dozen cases including an apple leather case (why do they expose the bottom?? Ugh).

This Silk is just right between a thin and thick case. It’s not super thin where it won’t provide impact protection by its not super thick to be bulky.
The biggest win is the grip texture. It’s not rough but textured so the phone doesn’t feel like it will slip out of my hand if someone bumps me.

I emailed them yesterday as I've two on the way but wouldn't have ordered them if they didn't have the precise cut outs. The pictures have changed on their site for the Max but still show the correct holes on the standard XS pictures.

Does anyone know of any thin, frosted and transparent cases (like totallee's) but in a light blue (not navy) color? Something that looks like the "Really Blue" colorway for the first Pixel phone:

I am currently using this as well. However, I have a Sheath and Liquod Air armor coming in today as well. All seem similar
