Which case will you be getting for your new XS/XS Max? [MERGED]

My last Caudabe case was the Sheath for an iPhone 7+. I thought the fit and finish were amazing for such a minimalist case.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed when I recieved the Synthesis for my XS. It’s not a bad case at all, but it just didn’t wow me like the Sheath for my 7+.

One minor detail that kind of bothers me is the symmetrical speaker cutouts that don’t match the asymmetrical speaker design of the phone. I know the reason why the case went to early production like that, but it makes me feel like I’m using an old iPhone X case.

The back of the case appears to be flush with the camera bump. There are small bumps on the 4 corners of the rear of the case that keep the camera raised off of flat surfaces.

The case material is moderately flexible, so if you pull at the edges there is some give. Doesn’t bother me, but I can see it bugging someone who really cares.

I don’t have a caliper to measure the case. In hand it feels comparable to the Apple silicone case.

I was thinking of returning the case and emailed Caudabe with my complaint about the speaker cutout. They didn’t reply back, so I’ll probably just keep it.

Like I said... not a bad case, but nothing too special either.

Thanks for this review. I’ve been on the fence about trying this since I like my Sheath but want a lil more grip. How is the grip overall and on the sides?

I just gave my daughter a bath and I would have been worried about touching my phone during/after if I had the leather case on. No worries with the solid suit.

Here’s the thing. I don’t think I need the crazy protection. Being careful and Apple care +. I feel like I should get something out of my $200 policy. Meaning I should be able to use a thin case or no case at all.

None. It doesn’t shift or anything while in the case. That being said a microfiber lining is definitely nicer.

Getting my $200 worth makes me want to use the Apple leather case more. Back in the Apple leather.

What color phone do you have? Are you seeing any scratches on the stainless edges from taking your phone in and out of the SoildSuit case?

Space grey. Just checked under bright light. Couldn’t find anything.

Looks absolutely perfect to me. I think I need a softer Sheath. That level of protection and thinness but not that hard pebble texture

Edit: this leather feels really nice. It’s getting little marks and nicks making it unique to me. Some might not like that.

Double edit: first phone drop of the max ever. 2ft but hit my leg on the way down so maybe 1ft lol! Face first on hardwood. Best drop test ever lol

Leather. This case is starting to have some give and squeak when I squeeze it. Probably too much taking it on and off. Back to the solid suit lol

So I need a case for my xs. I need it at first for adding grip. I think the xs is not that slippery as the 7 was, but I‘m always afraid of invoking control center because I have to move my hand a little bit. I‘m always scared it slips out of my hand and gets totally broken.

The thing here is, the case must be one of this ultra slim cases. Is there something for me that isnt bulky or even ultraslim and has a layer with grip enhancement on it? A very „sticky“ rubber for example.

If the leather was a better color maybe but mine at least just looks brown, no variation or difference and just too uniform for my tastes. I think I’m going to switch back and forth between the SS and the apple leather. The only other case I’m still waiting on os the newly revised k11 but that doesn’t even have an estimated release date.

The leather on the Nomad is quite uniform indeed, but the patina after a few weeks/months makes it nice! Your decision by going back to the SolidSuit makes me want the SolidSuit even more. Such a shame they didn't improve the X version, but only the XS one.

If anyone has the SolidSuit for XS and has to opportunity to put it on the X, please make a picture of the camera cut-out!

Finally out of Solid Suit. Love the case but removing it is a big worry for me.
Otterbox Symmetry landed today. Easy to install and remove. Wish they had leather back. I quite like the flush button tbh. All in i think it makes phone less bulkier than Solid Suit and love it how the rubber wraps around the egdes/corners and leaving no gap between screen protector and case. Its a keeper in my opinion.

Ive still got that itch to get pitaka magcase pro but im thinking to get the X version with microfibre inside.

Here are a couple, like I said it’s nice but I just prefer the solidsuit, I just love how “solid” it fits and feels. It also has a perfect compromise of front lip enough to keep it off a surface but not enough to interfere with swiping.

I’d really like to hear from somebody who has this, looks nice and much, much less than the symmetry.

I agree. I’m not a fan of the buttons of the solidsuit as I feel they’re too clicky, but overall, I haven’t found a better case yet.

Had the Patchworks case for the iPhone X and they were fantastic cases. This case has also been sitting in my Amazon cart for a while.
