Keyboard preferences are highly subjective. The 12.9 ASK is my absolute favorite keyboard. period. It knocked the Surface TypeCover out of that top spot. But then again, I've been using mechanical keyboards for 40+ years and prefer keys with less resistance which allow me to type faster with less fatigue.I'm still debating the ASK keyboard, for some reason i still like the keyboard on my iMac and MacBook Pro (2011) maybe it's just a learning curve with the ASK and something i should just take the plunge with and get "use to it" with IOS 11 coming up it's going to make the iPad Pro more productive anyway, i'm just not sure if i would use the ASK enough, at the moment i multitask on my iPad, split screen, picture in picture and so on and it is great for that.

If you are unsure about the ASK then wait. Wait until iOS 11 drops and see how jarring it is to have splitwindow going and having 1/3 of the screen taken up by the onscreen keyboard. You'll do a burn-out out of your driveway as you head to the nearest store that has the ASK in stock. LOL![]()
Different people will have different experiences, but I've been using the ASK practically daily since March 2016. It hasn't torn, broke, nor any marks on it. It is in as good a shape as the SC that I have for it (but don't use as often).LOLI didn't buy the ASK with my first gen 12.9" iPad Pro and I've been wondering about it for a while. iOS 11 is going to make the iPad Pro much more productive I can see that already from what Apple announced at WWDC.
On my current iPad Pro I'm using the back cover and Smart Cover from Apple which I find to be very durable, since I've had then on my iPad Pro since it arrived in late November 2015 and they haven't torn, broke or even got many marks on them, can the same be said for the ASK keyboards?
I am absolutely in love with my 10.5" iPP. The thought of changing to the 12.9" has crossed my mind (and still mildly playing on it) as I would find it easier to use the Apple Pencil and take notes in landscape mode. But portability would suffer.
I just love the sound when typing on ASKDifferent people will have different experiences, but I've been using the ASK practically daily since March 2016. It hasn't torn, broke, nor any marks on it. It is in as good a shape as the SC that I have for it (but don't use as often).

No doubting the ASK will add weight. Ever think of the Magic keyboard? Since you have gone so long without the ASK that one might work out for situations that you would want a keyboard for typing.
I love mine, I just keep my Pro propped up in landscape with a Smart Cover.
Sounds like 10.5 is the right size for you.Been comparing sizes in store just to be sure before I buy. The 12.9" is definitely way too big for me. The extra screen real estate is nice, but it's tiring to hold and I just don't need something that large. The 9.7" is definitely seeming outdated-ly small. I'm so glad Apple increased the size to 10.5" and the reduced bezels make it look much more modern. I really think 10.5" is the sweet spot. More screen real estate in a 9.7" body, while still being light and portable. Definitely the perfect balance between productivity and portability imo.
I am on the same boat.I totally agree with many people in this thread: 12" bezel-less would be perfect. The 10.5 is too small and the 12.9 is too big.
I don't know what to do really.
I would get both but then, when you travel- wich one do you bring ...

I decided on the 12.9 and it was a pretty easy choice. The 12.9 will give me the bigger landscape I’m looking for and portability will still be excellent. I’m 6’4” and the 12.9 is not small in my hands at all. Actually it’s the perfect size for me. This debate will always come up just like the 7 and 7 Plus. To each their own but in the end, if you are bigger than the average person, 12.9 is not too big IMO.
Size wise it does make sense to me. I went for the 12.9 and a big reason was to sell my macbook to replace that. I don’t think a screen size of 10.5 can replace one’s macbook but I guess everybody is different. Size wise it can take a while to get used to it but for watching youtube/videos and general browsing it’s the best option. Certainly when I have the smart keyboard and the smart cover for when I just want to watch things.I decided on the 12.9 and it was a pretty easy choice.
