Silver is the best this time IMO. The graphite and pacific blue do nothing for me.

Graphite Gang
I wish Apple would make a true black model that actually looks like it does in the product marketing video below. I have the Space Grey iPhone 11 Pro and I don't really like it. Grant I am severely colorblind, but this frosted grey almost looks brownish to me (same with iPhone 8) and I don' like. The raw silver just scratched so easily that I wanted the PVC coding.

Rather than this:

What I totally expect, perhaps with every phone color, not just Silver & the shiny stainless steel flat sides.
Scratching. (Like the X, like Stainless Steel Apple Watches), I just recall that from this forum back in Nov-Dec 2018.

It's just simply inevitable and unavoidable. Perhaps if you go with the case, maybe find some kind of clear protective "film" for the sides if you want to keep these looking flawless as possible.

As long I don't see a scratch out of the box - like some did when they got the iPhone X - I'm fine.

My silver iPhone XS was horribly scratched within 2 months with a case. My space grey iPhone 11 Pro is near perfect a year later never in a case. the non-natural stainless steels get treated with a special coating that greatly increases hardness. Assuming that process is the same for graphite, pacific blue and gold, it won't be an issue.

Definitely silver or graphite. Everyone always chooses the new color (and it’s typically average at best). I mean where are all the people clamoring for the midnight green version of the 12 😂?

I like new colors. Green last year. Pacific Blue this year. Gold on the 6 years ago (new to me). I haven't done Red yet. Though the case on my black 7+ is red.

I suspect since they changed the name, and since they introduced a graphite watch, the graphite, or black model is going to be lighter than the space grey model from last year.

Haha. Most of the time. Mine is in a case. So I was thinking the same. Whichever is the least popular color. That is the one I am going to order.

On the 4, I used the free bumper case, so could see the phone. I've had clear cases several times, such as the gold 6, the 11 (green), and now the 12 Pro (PB). Maybe I should have ordered the $49 apple clear case, but I got a $14 clear case on Amazon instead. No magsafe devices.

I ended up going Pacific blue. But I liked them all about the same, except for graphite. I don’t think graphite is bad, but because I would have preferred a deep true black, I worried I might end up dissatisfied with it. I haven’t had a blue iPhone, yet, not even an Xr. So I may as well try something new. I’ve had variations of the other colors already.

It all ended up being a last minute choice because I originally was thinking of getting a mini. I changed that plan for a few reasons. I wish the Pro line offered a Product Red choice.

I think the silver has PVD coating this time, it was mentioned in the Apple conference that all the stainless steel models have PVD coating to show off the new color luster.

I’m coming from a gold XS which is one of the best looking iPhones I have ever had. I almost went silver but decided on the blue flavored pro.

I wish I could keep the gold XS as a collectible though, that thing is a work of art.

It should protect the steel from minor scratches. Silver versions of iPhones (X, Xs, 11 Pro) have always been extremely easy to scratch because there was no PVD coating on the steel.

Those stainless-steel scratches are very easy to remove by using a soft buffer machine and some stainless steel polish. I have an old iPhone X lying around, and it looks still like a new and has a scratch-free silver ring.

That's why Silver 12 Pro could be a good choice.

Is graphite exactly the same colour as space grey 11 pro?

They look pretty much identical to me.

Silver 12 Pro will have PVD coating this year, which means the polishing trick won't work.

I'm annoyed that they didn't offer the color I wanted.

I like really bold colors and apple just doesn't seem to do bold for their pro line. The gold this year is rather bold which is why I think I chose it. (That, and I just got a new gold Apple Watch so matchy-matchy)
