I know exactly what I'm talking about. The amount of dangerous materials used in the manufacturing of domestic products in China is much higher than the United States, and much higher than the rest of the developed world in general.

That may be so, but it's important to point out that the biggest thug in China is the authoritarian government itself.

I have been to China. The police took my phone without a warrant, because someone saw me using a "banned" app (Facebook). It's dystopian there.

I have also seen what they're doing in Xinjiang.

Yes they do. People do business with China, not because their standards are high, but because in China slave labor is legal in that you're allowed to pay your factory workers basically nothing.

All they are doing is putting pieces together. It's cheap labor that anyone can do with a little bit of training, the only reason they choose China is because it is legal there to pay them much less than they would have to pay Americans, because of minimum wage laws here.

The skillset and the knowledge comes from the engineers who are flown in from America, and the machines built by Apple that handle the more complex parts.

Have you seen my profile picture? I'm not believing "American's propaganda". I frequently criticize the bad parts of America. However I frequently criticize the bad parts of China too, and that seems to put you into a state of denial.

By the way, defending everything China does just because you're asian is the definition of racism.
You need glasses I suppose, I'm not an Asian, just an European dude.

My new SE showed up about 20 minutes before the new phones were announced. Was hoping for a small phone option. I opened it up and swapped my SIM into it as soon as the event was over.

No tablet phones for me.

Non, Just ordered a Vivo Nex for $600 dollars. 6.6 inch smartphone with an in display fingerprintscanner and a Snapdragon 845 with 8GB of ram. I think Apple phone prices are getting ridiculous by now .

The OPPO Find X is pretty nice as well which has less of a chin than the Vivo Nex.

Not upgrading. Not a worthy upgrade from an X really.

I’ll wait for 5G, USB-C, and expected smaller notch on iPhone 11.

I'm not gonna lie I was close to pulling the trigger a couple times. I have an X and wouldn't mind a larger screen phone.

These new phones really seem like a pretty minimal upgrade so I just don't think I can justify the cost when I don't really feel like I'm getting enough bang for my buck.

I went backward and forward on whether or not to upgrade from my 8+, waited until the carrier plans came out (I'm in Australia) and decided the plans are not horrendous so pulled the trigger on a XS Max 256. My 8+ is sold and will cover the payout on the plan.

This time last year was an exciting time to upgrade, new form factor, no home button and face id. I bought the iphone X in space grey 256 and I like it. I remember pre order day was quite exhilarating lol.

Anyway this year not upgrading as it is more of the same. Will be waiting another year or two until something something changes significantly again on the iphone. Good luck to all on pre-order day!
The X was basically a beta test for this phone. 1.5 hour longer battery life, thinner bezels, faster faceID, 7nm, significantly better camera, 6.5 inch size. This is the phone the X should've been.

I think they did a great job and I'm glad I waited.

I feel the same way. Just woke up to pee, fired up the Apple store app and still see the unlocked available for delivery.

Went through the motions through check out and looked at the $1300+ price tag after tax and decided against it. My iPhone X 256gb will be just fine for another year.

Going back to sleep.
Most people who have publicly posted about not buying it secretly want to buy it. People actually not interested in something don't care enough to go online to an Apple forum and let everyone know how not interested they are.

I’ve been to China. I’ve toured factories that start their introduction with “We’re not a sweatshop” (factories in China that care about worker welfare never make that statement). I’ve also been to Xinjiang. You are entirely correct. Don’t even get me started on Chinese “Universities”.

I'm having a hard time believing that anyone thinks the Xs is worth $250-350 more than the Xr. For what? ...an extra lens, a slightly better screen, and slightly worse battery life? o_O
Slightly better is an understatement

passing... not interested in a glass back and the fuggly notch still presence

Passing for 2018. The line between the XS and X is barely there, and I really like my iPhone 8+.

I'll probably get this years XS Max next year.

I’ll stick with my 128 GB iPhone 7 and get a new battery. I think the pricing on the Xs and Max is obscene, and I won’t validate it with a purchase. I’d consider the Xr if it were smaller.

My iPhone 6s is still working like a champ in today's app demands. It'll probably last 'till 2020 before I upgrade it.

Going from a 7+ to an XS Max. Sat out last year as I didn’t want a smaller phone and the 8 wasn’t enough of an upgrade (really a 7S).

I was set to get a red XR. But I screwed up and checked my carrier website this morning. I have a 256gb XS Max on the way for sept 21. I hope I don’t regret battery life.
I was supposed to get the smaller XS but somehow because we were both half asleep my husband signed me up for a 256 gb XS Max, too. At least it’s the gold color I had wanted. But he got AT&T for shipping and not unlocked for local pickup, so mine isn’t coming until October. Of course he got his order right.

Normally I order for myself, but I needed to sleep because I have to be up hours earlier than him. But he woke me anyway. Apparently I asked for the Max???

I keep thinking I should change it back to my original choice, but the more I hear about it the more I want to try it.

I had always wanted better modems and stereo audio recording capability so I’m thrilled with the upgrades. I’m trading in one of my 8 Pluses that’s going out of warranty. I’ll still be keeping my Product Red 8 Plus with Apple Care Plus.

going from an iPhone X to an iPhone Xs Max. I am only doing it because i need a new phone that is CDMA. Switched from AT&T to Xfinity Mobile and the phone has a lot of failed calls and other problem off an on that is a cellular problem.

Well, I was debating, but now it is official. I just pre-ordered an Iphone XS Max 265GB (Silver). After this I will return to my normal "every other year" upgrade path.

I got the 64GB and I really wish now I had gone with 256, but sitting here looking at my current iPhone which is 64GB, it has my pictures and music on it that I keep on my phone. I don't need to keep all of it on my phone and I still have 33GB free. So, I guess I am overacting. I stream music mostly and once my pictures are backed up to the Cloud I generally remove them from the phone. Just something I've always done. I can see them all and even download if I wanted needed too. Generally when I am showing pictures though I do that on my iPad Pro.

I have the IPhone X 256GB and I was hoping that Tim would show us smaller Version of the X.
Same Bodysize as the 5SE but with no bezels - resulting in a larger screen and normal phone size....

The X is already too big for easy navigation with only one hand. All this Plus or Max phones are completely unattractive and not appealing to me. (also not to my wife....)

I can’t understand why they make the phones always bigger :/

I don’t need a tablet phone....

(I have the 12.9“ IPad Pro - was hoping for an edgeless Model with no bezels and bigger screen though...)
