Finsihed Band of Brothers yesterday. Absolutely superb. Why it took me so long to get round to this I'll never know.

Found myself Googling facts about WW2 after the episodes. I hope we never have to see something so horrific ever again.
It's a worthy companion of sorts to Saving Private Ryan.

There's also The Pacific which is another companion miniseries.

I'll be watching Saving Private Ryan again soon. Haven't seen it since picking up the 4K blu. Best war film for me.

I'm on series two of Northern Exposure. The boxed set was released in the UK on Blu-ray a year or so ago and the DVD version is due in July. The original music is back again on these so it's great to revisit after all these years. I gave up on the releases prior to this when it became clear the original music had been replaced.

Now it's a few episodes in, watching the 6 available of Billions season 5.

And thanks to recommendations on here, I've got The Pacific on blu-ray coming this Saturday.

Watching Collateral, a British police procedural set in London with Carey Mulligan as a detective, Nicola Walker (whose work I follow closely), John Simm and Billie Piper. It was written by David Hare, one of my favorites, who also wrote and directed The Worricker Trilogy, a well-done MI6 spy romp with Bill Nighy, Christopher Walken, Winona Ryder, Saskia Reeves, Helena Bonham-Carter and a long list of other greats.

If it's a UK crime/spy drama, I'll watch it. I'm also a big fan of the Swedish original Wallander series. I could go on and on; don't get me started.

In that case you may want to check out The War by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick. It's a superb documentary mini series (14 hours long!) narrated by Keith David and Tom Hanks, among others.

@vault - where do you find these series?

Prowling around, adding series and movies to "my list" at HBO Max, to which I just subscribed, since I've now started getting a year of Apple TV+ free for a year (thanks to purchase of my 2020 MBA). Since I was paying $4.99/mo for the Apple TV+ before I bought that laptop, now the net monthly hit to my budget of the HBO Max is down to something I'm definitely willing to pay for at least the coming year.

So for instance Chernobyl is on my list now... but I'm starting with the 1968 series and watched the first episode of that tonight.

Chernobyl is insanely fantastic. A bunch of the creative team from that show is adapting The Last of Us for HBO-<something> , which is a zombie apocalypse video game, but it's not just pew-pew, it's got some great story elements, so excited it's going to be helmed by such great talent.

I have been binging a bit on Lovejoy, an interesting cast of characters.
That’s a blast from the past!

I just began watching Killing Eve on Hulu. Supposed to be really good. Only watched the very first episode so far, Sandra Oh is always very interesting.
Your in for a treat.

Oh man, I remember watching every episode I could of Lovejoy when it was on the TV in the nineties! Really like Ian McShane, he was great in Deadwood as well.

Another show from that era that I very much miss is Cracker with Robbie Coltrane. I really should get it on DVD.

Always liked Nathan Fillion so took a punt and purchased The Rookie cia Apple

Really enjoyed it. Good balance of “story of the week” along with an ongoing and developing plot. Look forward to season 2

I couldn’t stand Castle. So skipped this. Then caught an episode Mrs AFB was watching and found it was pretty good. I’m about two thirds of the way through season two, although I already caught the cliffhanger season finale. Season three will be interesting.
