Pretty funny Australian law series with Richard Roxburgh and Hugo Weaving:

Finsihed Band of Brothers yesterday. Absolutely superb. Why it took me so long to get round to this I'll never know.

Found myself Googling facts about WW2 after the episodes. I hope we never have to see something so horrific ever again.

I saw a few episodes of that. Never did watch the entire series.

@vault - where do you find these series?
I watched The War on Netflix but it seems it has been removed recently, at least in my country. The Vietnam War (from the same creators) is still there, though.

The series are made by PBS, which I assume is some sort of American public broadcast TV.

working my way through the last season of Kung Fu (purchased in May) - really enjoyed season 1 and 2 - season 3 is a little too creative for my tastes - but still great to watch.

Thanks. And yes, you are correct, PBS is the 'Public Broadcasting Service' which for many years has been one of the main broadcast television networks in the U.S., a nonprofit private service (that does receive some government money and hopefully this will not start a debate here about the pros and cons of PBS . . . ). Very different from BBC, I think, but generally very high quality.

. . . we have been watching "Downton Abbey". We are really digging it!

Such a great series, I hope you enjoy every minute of it. It is one of those programs that is so great and the first viewing is one that can't be duplicated. Try to not read anything about the series while you are experiencing it. There are some very big surprises along the way that you don't want to spoil!

I just finished the Ragnarok series on Netflix and enjoyed it immensely. Now I have to wait for season 2. If you have an appreciation of Norse mythology you should give it a once-over. Note that it is set in the present day.

The information I saw on IMDB indicates that it is a Norwegian show but on Netflix in the USA it is in English. I think they might be dubbing the original because sometimes the lips don't seem to match. However, given the accent of the English, it may well be the original actors providing the English. If it was originally done in Norwegian (or other non-English tongue), I would love to be able to watch it in the original language with subtitles. They already provide subtitles when they zoom in on signage (caution, hazard, the name of a school, etc).

ugh

I'm intrigued but knowing about the language/translation faux paux it will bug me while I'm watching.

The show Black Spot was done that way and I couldn't watch more than one episode.

Ok I really like it so far.

Two more episodes of “Schitt’s Creek.” I laughed a bunch.

Gave up on it after about 5 episodes...

Finished Schitts Creek a few weeks ago. Really enjoyed it.

Then just finished Fleabag - this weekend. Enjoyed that one as well.

Started “The Purge” series (on Hulu). Marianne is on our list next.

Fleabag was interesting... after the first episode I was ready to stop... but pushed through, and actually glad I did.

I just finished The Man in the High Castle on Amazon. The basis of the plot and the series started very interesting. But my interest lessened as I got deeper into the seasons due to slow pacing / story telling. The ending was too open ended, and unfortunately not something I enjoyed.

I couldn’t stand Castle. So skipped this. Then caught an episode Mrs AFB was watching and found it was pretty good. I’m about two thirds of the way through season two, although I already caught the cliffhanger season finale. Season three will be interesting.

watched season 2 in last 4 days. Really enjoyable

I'm in the process of binge-watching Netflix Undercover.

Set in Limburg, Belgium two police officers take up undercover residence in a holiday camp favoured by an ecstasy pill drugs baron.

It's enjoyable for me for many reasons. Interesting to learn that Belgium is, in fact, a global hub for rave-pill manufacture. Interesting to to listen to the pot-pourri of languages (French, German, Dutch, Polish, Italian, Flemish, and a fair amount of English load-words.) A hundred years ago I lived in South Africa, and its fascinating to hear so many Flemish words that are very similar to the Afrikaans. Lekker and alsjeblieft

There is some similarity in the story line and pacing to Breaking Bad. And mostly in a good way. The drugs baron is violent bad-tempered oaf, but in a charmingish sort of way. His steel-eyed security man would give Mike Ermentraut a run for his money.

Overall worth a watch if you are looking for a way to fill those lockdown days and nights.

I finished the first season of The Sinner, kudos to Jessica Biel, a fine job of acting; looking forward to watching the second season.

Agreed. An outstanding series in my opinion, but the series finale left a lot to be desired.
