I'm thinking seriously of signing up for HBO Max just to re-watch the Sopranos again. It has been a few years and a second viewing of great series always brings more out that was not fully noticed or appreciated the first time.

I'm also tempted to re-watch Breaking Bad.

Tempted? how have you not re-watched breaking bad...I’ve watched the whole series like 5 times.

I'm going retro again, running through the first season of Batman...and boy, what a fun, ridiculous hoot! ?

I'd never heard of the channel Filmrise before, but they've got it.

The pilot has one of my favorite scenes ever, where this go-go dancer masquerades as Robin ? and actually gets into the Batcave before Batman unmasks her. Whereupon she runs from him and climbs onto the Batcave's nuclear power core which, for no reason in particular, starts to roar loudly. Batman fails to rescue her, she falls in, and Batman utters the immortal line: "Poor, deluded child. If only she'd let me save her. What a terrible way to go-go!" ?

Well, that does it, I just started watching Breaking Bad again. So great! Very first episode, Walter goes with his brother-in-law on a meth lab raid, and while the DEA agents are in the house and Walter is out waiting in the car, he spots Jesse sneaking out from a second story window from the house next door . . . (I'll leave out the details)

Just the kind of escape that I need right now with the rest of the world going to pieces all around us!!

And by the way . . .

Ever talk about the old shows that you wish were available to re-watch, but are not??

I would dearly love to be able to watch Hill Street Blues again . . .

Filmrise looks very interesting. It doesn't look like it can be accessed from Apple TV (what I mean is TV on the Mac, not the Apple TV box).

I watch very little on the television these days. Mostly I watch stuff on an iPad or my iMac.

I don't really have enough time now-days to binge... Perhaps 1-2 hours a night.. This is why it takes me months to go through 1 whole season of 'The Simpsons' :/

Batman in HD on a big TV looks gorgeous, with its vivid colors. Filmrise on TV, though, can be a bit odd, inserting commercials in random places, sort of like the early days of Hulu. It’s also buggy in that I can’t access all episodes.

That’s not true on my phone, though. I’m using Filmrise’s iPhone app, with the bonus being that my ad blocker seems to filter out the commercials. ZAP! ?

Glad you found Hill Street Blues. Now let’s be careful out there!

Indeed! I watched the first episode of Hill Street Blues yesterday evening, what great memories that brings back. It seems like it was just yesterday when I was working overseas and had family members tape episodes on VHS tape and mail to me so that I could watch them! (And I still have those old VHS tapes in a box somewhere . . . )

OK, just saw this:

There are some more "stories" that are saying just about the same thing. Interesting that YouTube no longer wants such a popular series. And this is so, so revealing:

"The plan now is for the new owners to air Season 3 while receiving access to the back catalog. This increases the likelihood of a renewal at the new home, with yesterday’s article noting how a “finished season of a popular title with built-in audience” is a “hot commodity” given the current lack of new content due to COVID-19 shutdowns."

Seems like valid statements. Hopefully it will be Netflix, as I subscribe to it!

Also, this link has some excellent reasons why it needs to be Netflix:

I especially like the insertion of the line spoken by John Kreese, "The world needs Cobra Kai". Exactly! And they would get it (except for China) with Netflix. And would sure mean big $$.

After having bought Generation Kill & Band of Brothers over 10 years ago, finally got round to watching them. GK wasn't that great, BoB is much more promising (watched the first 2 so far).

Finsihed Band of Brothers yesterday. Absolutely superb. Why it took me so long to get round to this I'll never know.

Found myself Googling facts about WW2 after the episodes. I hope we never have to see something so horrific ever again.
