I wonder why January, the series was ready months ago. It probably has to do with marketing.
Can't wait for this!
I can easily think of a few reasons:

1. Netflix wanted to see the "reaction" to the first 2 seasons, and it seems it has been off the charts (given that they have renewed the series for a 4th season).

2. Maybe too much going on right now, with the virus, the presidential election, the holidays, etc.

3. Also, January is typically a somewhat "lull" time for TV viewing. The January 8th date seems to be perfect.

Good points.
I am not surprised by Bullet #1. This series is just good; it's entertaining, self-aware, not too serious.

Yeah, I got hooked on it the first time I watched Episode 1 of Season 1 on YouTube. Have watched both seasons at least 3 times each, and still enjoy them. I will definitely re-watch both seasons just prior to January 8th, when Season 3 appears on Netflix.

I am actually hoping to see Ali appear in Season 3. It would certainly add to the story. Can one imagine both Daniel and Johnny still trying to impress her? That would be cool!

Hopefully folks have seen the first 2 seasons of Cobra Kai. And it looks like Netflix thinks it's so good (including Season 3,) that they have already renewed it for a 4th season:

And, here is another trailer which states that Season 3 will premiere on January 8th:

I wonder if Ali (Elizabeth Shue) is returning. That would definitely be an interesting twist. There is even speculation that she could operate on Miguel.

Wow, thanks for the spoilers...

Last night I finished off another binge through SG SG1!! The last episode of 10 seasons always makes me sad. Hate to see it end! God I love that series! Now on to Atlantis again!!
We just started Atlantis. This will be my first time through it.

I have been watching New Tricks, a humorous series of retired policemen brought back to work old cases. Very funny.
I started watching that too recently and got sidetracked by a couple of things on a renewed Netflix sub. New Tricks looks like fun.

I love that show.

The format is sort of similar to that of The Great British Bake Off, but the challenge is blade making, or knife, or sword (or weapon) forging rather than baking.

It is surprisingly good, and strangely addictive.

More to the point, I like the mutual respect that the contestants and judges have for one another, and the mutual respect with which the contestants regard one another and how well they treat one another.

HBO's Rome. I like it, the history is nearly there, and there's enough suspense to keep me going

A colleague of mine lives that show. His Son does (well not this year obviously) medieval reenactments and melees. Pretty brutal some of it.

Medieval re-enactments, yes, can be pretty brutal (as I imagine that the originals were); the husband of a friend (and outstanding former student of mine, who himself was also a former student of mine,) who has an autistic son, and who is the main carer for that boy, does Viking re-enactments (and makes his own armour) as a way of dealing with stress.

He has had broken ribs, - among other injuries - but loves it, and relishes it and finds it a real release; obviously, that is not happening now.

It's a good thing to watch, though I'm not binging on it.

Finished with my two day run of "The 100" season 7, also the series finale. Well paced season, so-so ending to the whole story.

Now continuing with "Deutschland 83". Never seen it before, but I like a good spy drama set in the days of the cold war.

Cold War spy dramas are a favorite of mine too, so I'll be interested if you find this one well done. It looks like it's only available on Hulu, but I'll keep my eyes open for availability on other channels too.

Loved it! Surprisingly accurate regarding the setting and flair. Just finished the third (and last) season - Deutschland 89.
In Germany, they're all available on Amazon Prime Video.
