Finishing up "Call My Agent" (original French Dix pour cent) on Netflix. As is my custom, I watch in French and follow along with the subtitles. It's better that way.

This show has some similarities with shows ranging from Entourage, to Curb Your Enthusiasm and Extras in that its a show-business story, with well-known personalities playing slightly fictionalised versions of themselves. Except this time the actors are all French. Everyone from Juliette Binoche to Gerard Lanvin. Not all the names will be familiar to Brits and Americans.

Good acting, and fascinating to see the way in which the French movie business is subtly, but importantly, different from the US and UK scene. And French women, from the very young to the not-so-young, seem to have a style and charm that is uniquely appealing.

My only "complaint" with the series is that the translation of the title doesn't really work. The English "Call My Agent!" doesn't really do justice to the depth and breadth of the show. Dix Pour Cent ("Ten Per Cent") is much more subtle, and intriguing.

Watch it if: You love France. You love French cinema. Miss it if: You can't be bothered to watch subtitles.

I'll give it a try. I really liked Oktoberfest: Beer & Blood per your recommendations. In German to boot!

Starting over with Halt and Catch Fire, of which I only watched season 1 previously. At least I think it was Halt and Catch Fire, but either I wasn't paying close attention previously or it was another show about the same era. I don't remember the Joe MacMillan character and I seem to remember more rooms full of short-sleeved white shirted engineers sweating it out, but ... it's fun to watch regardless.

We finished "Schitt's Creek" last night, although we're only about halfway through the making of episode.

Not on TV, but online: The splendid motor-car - of cars from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s (and a fe from even easier, a couple pre-dating WW2) reviews by the wholly wonderful - informed, intelligent, enthusiastic - Steph of "idriveaclassic".

On a whim I started watching Dukes of Hazzard last night. Don’t know that ot will be my go to show, but maybe something I’ll sneak in and episode or two of from time to time. I remember watching it as a kid. And Daisy is just as hot and sassy as I remember her from my teenage years.

I still have my original general lee car somewhere

Currently Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's latest series of Long Way Up on ATV+

Also noticed ATV+ has the older series too, so those will be next on the watchlist :)

I’m almost done the second season of Succession. Started a week ago, not sure why I out it off for so long.

It's an amazing show!

It wasn't on my radar before... but Kieran Culkin was on Marc Maron's podcast and he was talking about the show.

The finale of season one was great... and the finale of season two is even better. So season three should be wild!

I'm a real big fan of Greg the Egg... :p

I like to imagine that Greg the Egg will be the last one standing and thus will be the one to take over.
