I'd gotten about halfway through season 3 of Halt and Catch Fire, but got weary of the crisis-outrage-shouting matches-resolution formula.

Just finished the last of The Last Kingdom and have swiftly moved on to Barbarians (Netflix too). Sure, it's got it faults but I'm enjoying it... (I do think they should have used the "Teddy bears picnic" rhyme as the theme tune... ;))

I can remember watching UXB with my Dad. Bloody great! Wings was another good one and available on Youtube.... There was also quite a good bit of apocalyptic stuff in the 70's - Children of the Stones (kids TV but spooky), Quatermass (the 1979 one ) and Survivors (possibly a bit topical - especially the opening credits) which are all available on YouTube with a quick search.

@AVBeatMan: If you like Foyle's War (which I think superb), and share my liking for those classic British TV WW2 shows such as Colditz, and Secret Army, might I also strongly recommend Danger UXB, from the late 70s - which I thought absolutely first rate?

I do remember seeing this when I was still at school. It helped fuel my fascination with the Second World War. I remember being terrified when the bomb disposal officer claimed down into the pit to try and diffuse the fallen bomb. And if I remember correctly, they didn’t always succeed.

I wish they’d make more series like this. I recently read an interview with Anthony Horowitz who spoke about the possibility of another series of Foyle’s War. Apparently there was one year of the war that they didn’t make a series on for some reason?

I just started this. Are you watching it in the original German (and Latin) or are you watching a dubbed version?

Luckily it's in German and Latin and I'm running subtitles (like the yoofs do...). I find Netflix's subtitling a bit intrusive - constantly describing the music etc - but to my mind it's much better than it all being dubbed (badly) which I often find quite jarring. Mind you they're dragging things out a bit at the moment but I hope they're doing that to save up lots of budget for the Romans to get a big surprise when they eventually go for a walk in the woods!

Finished all eight seasons of Game of Thrones (again), now watching some Doom Patrol...
I just finished watching Game of Thrones. Quite a lot of differences from the book, some good (Theon's characters has more depth?), some bad (where's Lady Stoneheart??). The Hound is alive???? I hope that gravedigger with the gimp leg in the book is actually Sandor Clegane. Here's hoping.???

Season 8 is as bad or worse than everyone says. It started out like a Micheal Bay movie (lots of actions and explosions, no storyline) and progressively got worse.? I should have listened to y'all when y'all said to skip Season 8.

I already knew Bran the Broken was gonna be King of the Six Kingdoms before watching. I thought that would be the biggest Ouat Ze Fuek moment in the series. Wrong. The Lords of Westeros asked a traitor to choose the king.???
