@yaxomoxay I finished it up last night. I was trying to describe it to my wife as a supernatural thriller/horror dark comedy, and she said, “oh like David Lynch”. ? I really liked it. The ending left me wanting more of a resolution but that’s just my conditioning from years of formulaic movies.

Clickbait (2021)
Netflix show about a kidnapping in which the victim is killed if an online video streaming of the kidnapping reaches 5,000,000 views. The premise is pretty ingenious, the show is more than watchable. It's not a great show, but it certainly contains some gems in addition to some criticism of the current bloodthirsty online community.

My wife and I binged through this and we both enjoyed it! I'd agree with your assessment that it's very watchable and certainly provides an interesting view of the online community. Not a top 10 for us but enjoyable nonetheless.

Finished House of Cards. Was kind of disappointed in the end. That show apparently crashed and burned along with Kevin Spacey.
I was also disappointed with the last season of House of Cards. It was watchable enough that I was able to stagger through...but it wasn't as good as previous seasons.

I have yet to find anyone else that actually likes this show out in the real world, but I have been watching an episode a night of Doom Patrol on HBO Max. It’s just the right mix of drama and humor for me, and the characters are interesting. The only character I was familiar with prior to watching was Cyborg, but I’m not the biggest comic book fan these days. (I pretty much stuck to Spider-Man comics growing up and didn’t get in to much else.)

Anyway, the fact that there’s a somewhat interesting gay character is also a plus.

Ohhhhhh... Ugh

It's a double-edged sword.

You may hate the fact that IMDB TV is ad-based.

But if they offered a pay tier... someone would complain "oh great... another subscription service?!?!?"

TV costs money. Whether advertisers pay for it... or consumers pay for it... someone needs to pay. And I'm guessing Amazon thinks consumers have enough subscriptions.

:p

I'd rather pay and add them to my "cycle" of subscription services. Ads suck. Badly.

It seems odd but I have been away from normal tv for so may years (haven't had cable in at least 12 years) that the ads are actually sort of interesting to me now for a change. Of course when I get tired of them I simply switch over to a paid service for the next few shows.

I've been away from any sort of normal TV (broadcast or cable) for years, now, but I can't say I miss ads! Although I do sometimes like seeing videos showing really old ads. Funny that a product's ads of today can annoy me--but a 40 year old ads for the same product can be fun.

Thinking of ads...I view old TV shows on DVDs from the local library. One real annoyance is the stuff like ads that get stuffed in. No, I don't want to see what's "coming to DVD soon!" No, I don't need a minute long fancy lead in to the DVD main menu that hypes up the prgoramming. And I've seen enough of those "don't copy this DVD illegally!" warnings over the years.

The most annoying DVD was one for a movie that was programmed so I couldn't bypass the ads for coming attractions--at least not on the DVD player I was using then. I remember letting that DVD play for 20 minutes by itself, with the sound turned off, while I did something else.

Great show that you can’t watch with kids. Yeah cyborg was never really on that team but guess they felt a familiar character was needed. Have to admit though that all the profanity on Titans feels out of place or bizarre. It can be funny but just used too much. Maybe it’s an alternate dc universe where everyone talks like their trash. But fits better in doom patrol.

Oh I know... but I already pay for Amazon Prime, which doesn't have ads, now they are moving a show to a service that is still theirs, but has ads. Frustrating.

Anyone watching the new season of Goliath? It’s not that great to be honest, compared to the previous seasons. There are too many “interludes” where McBride is hallucinating. The story is not very dynamic. Not sure they will renew the season.

I read this morning Billy Bob and the team is hanging it up after this season. I liked the first season very much but found some of the second season content too creepy, and just gave it up.

Gonna check out Foundation on Apple TV ...

I found the first two available episodes very interesting and liked the visuals as well. I admit I haven’t read the books and it might be different for readers already familiar with the material.

I haven't read the books either and also have watched the first two episodes. I'm enjoying it very much too.

Started the first episode on Tuesday — and thought the same as you. Also read somewhere that this will be the final season.
