I binged this yesterday during a long rainy day.

While a little on the long-winded side, I thought this was an amazing series with
possibly the most unique take on the vampire mythos that I've ever seen.
One character's speech on the nature of life, death, and the universe was one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.

I thought this show is pretty much what one could expect from that genre. Started watching it without reading up on it and it’s pretty obvious where it’s headed after maybe 2-3 episodes.

This could have been done in 5 episodes but they needed to stretch to at least get to 7.

Nancy Drew (first season of the current show). I've been curious for a long time, since I remember the books. It's an interesting mix of good and bad. It is really a bad adaptation in terms of how many drastic changes take place. About the only thing in common with the books are some character names--but the relationships aren't necessarily the same. Oddly, though, someone must know the books, because there are so many Easter eggs. Some Easter eggs are based off a book title, but some that show someone must have read the books. There is even one probable Easter egg of a character's last name of Tandy--which was also the last name of the first Nancy Drew illustrator.

This aside, though, the plot has been good enough that I've kept watching. (The plot is also much different than anything I remember--I'd say it's more for older audiences than the books were.)

I'm still watching Big Bang Theory (Season 6 now) and I'm trying to compare it to Friends, which I also saw completely for the first time this year. I'm not a fan of Big Bang's repetitive relationship drama, the will they or won't they, Leonard and Howard being kinda dicks to Penny and Bernadette respectively, and just the meanness of the characters. The show is still funny at times, but I think the thing I liked more about Friends (And maybe this is just rose colored glasses and stuff) was those relationships were formed pretty well quickly and it didn't feel repetitive. The storylines (Maybe example Rachel and Ross) flowed a whole lot better.

This is really strange because i've been doing the same thing exactly. I've just finished all of it and whilst it was nice to see how the story finally developed and ended, it was also a relief to be able to finally move onto something else. When I got to season 9 I was binging it more to just get to the end. I feel that it was about 3 seasons too long but glad it exists and glad I've watched it through. I've now moved onto Squid Game and absolutely loving it right now.

Just trying to fill time until Ted Lasso - Season 3 comes out. :(

Ted Lasso.

I've had Apple TV for a few months now, and for some reason Ted did not appeal to me. Then I thought why not. 7 episodes in 2 days now. A feel-good comedy I'm sure a lot of us could use right now. Great characters played by great actors. As the Brits would say....wan....completing that word might get me banned...

No Apple product placement in there whatsoever.

I am watching Dopesick. It’s about the opioid crisis in the US. First I’m very surprised they are citing OxyContin & Purdue Pharma. I’m shocked about all of it, from the agressive sale technique, the label approved by the FDA and the destruction of the drug on people. It’s gruesome

That was my reasoning for watching Friends and Big Bang. These two shows were absolute hits when they were on and I wanted to say I've seen them in their entirety. I'm starting to feel how long Big Bang is in terms of length of series. I am midway through Season 6 and I might as well just be half way through it. At least the episodes are 20 minutes.

I agree, Friends is much more to my liking than Big Bang. I felt the latter ran out of steam rather quickly. The same can be sad for Modern Family, just too many seasons of the same.

Just binged all 3 seasons of Sex Education with the wife. Really enjoyed the first 2 seasons. This last season though, even with the ending of it was just too much of a downer on things all around. Relationships that were a joy to watch are just upturned and ended.

As my wife put it... with the way it left off, don't really feel a care to see the next season when it comes out.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent. I haven't watched L&O for many years and had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. Probably going to binge through all the other iterations too.

Started watching Outlander. Very very good.

Follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world in which her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate relationship is ignited that tears Claire's heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

The brutality of certain episodes especially in the first season really lost me for this.

Haunting of Hill House. I have very mixed feelings. I heard a lot of positive commentary, but I don't think it rates as highly as some of that commentary suggests. On the other hand, it was good enough that I kept watching it. I am very capable of giving up on a TV show and returning the DVDs to the library largely unwatched.

Probably the biggest gripe, though, is that (as far as I'm concerned) has nothing to do with the book. This is another adaptation that takes some things from the book (like some names), but is so largely different that it ends up being almost totally different. If the names were changed, I would probably have watched this and not even associated the TV show with the book.

Invasion on apple Tv. I think its great, although most people think its to slow.

Visually very appealing I think but have to agree it’s slow and has way too much drama that has nothing to do with an alien invasion story which sort of happens on the sidelines somehow. I hope it picks up.
