We finished the eighth seasons of Dexter and I have a question:
I remember the hurricane and a disastrous finale it was but I don’t recall the lumber company…was it added few years later or the show finishes with the hurricane?

I fired up The Pitt on Max, and let it roll. Ended up letting it run through the first four episodes in the background while working at my desk.

It's ER, kinda not ER, but set in Pittsburgh. Dr. Carter Noah Wyle is now the wise, seasoned veteran.

So, comfort food of sorts for those who remember when the NBC juggernaut ruled the airwaves.

Watching Derry Girls a comedy about a group of Catholic high schoolers in an all-girl school in Londonderry set in the 90s just before the peace agreement. Quite funny though I find it a bit easier to follow with sub-titles. Not as bad as Trainspotting back in the day.
Agree, and sub-titles/closed captions are absolutely required.

I never got into it.
The series in general or season 2 specifically?

That's on my list. Will start as soon as all episodes are out. I really enjoyed ER back in the day and having Noah Wyle in it gives me hope it's going to be good. 24 meets ER I guess.

Really wanted to like this, but it's not good. So much potential, but the bad acting and bad writing ruined it.

Agreed. Partway through it, but it has been shoved to the back of the watch list.
There could have been more explanation about why prime numbers are important to cryptography, which would explain why so many people are being assassinated. I know it is a bit of a heavy subject, but it could have been done.
Also the bit where the maths was being done on the tablecloth was just silly.

Binging The Sopranos
Had never seen an episode till now. Really into it.

You are in for a treat. Prime television. 🍿

You should follow up with the White Lotus Season 2 (thank me later ;) )

I am on another HBO show: White Lotus Season 3. I was sceptical but I really like it 3 episodes in, I mean, Walton Goggins is great and so is Amy Lou Wood (love the more natural look on both of them) and Patrick Schwarzenegger (I am Austrian so I root for Arnie :D ) - and I am not even mentioning the "gossip girls". Great cast, awesome soundtrack as well as cinematography.

Have you watched Justified...? ;^p

I have not, actually. Is it good? I know him from "The Shield".

Very. It was well-liked enough that they did a short limited revival a year or two ago, with the door open to more, if they can find a good story to tell.

Boyd Crowder is quite different than Shane Vendrell, but they're both played by an excellent actor. As was Lee Russell and Baby Billy.*

Do you like Elmore Leonard, his universe, and that kind of humor? Justified occupies space there, about a U.S. Marshall in Kentucky, and his dealings with the local mob.

The first season was more of a case-of-the-week series, before they really found their footing by changing into a more serialized show in subsequent seasons.

Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood) is the lead, and also excellent. The great Stephen Root was also a part of the show.

Jere Burns, Damon Herriman, and Jeremy Davies as well. And a young actress (Kaitlyn Dever) who is now a movie star.

Graham Yost was EP/showrunner, and his CV contains some quality stuff.

* Anyone else have to do a double-take when the premiere of The Righteous Gemstones looked like they made a mistake on the schedule and were running a different show, with a famous guest actor playing the lead role?

Been a minute since I posted in here, but here are some of the shows we have been watching/binging on.

Slow Horses - What a great freaking show!!!
Ted Lasso - Probably one of our favorite shows. This show is soooooo good. Currently on season two
Goliath - Billy Bob is killing it in the show. Currently on the season two.
Supernatural - What a fun ride. I can see why this was so popular for so long. These two have something. Currently on season four.
Ghost (British Version) - Love it! On the final season!
Ghost (American Version) - Love it! All caught up on the current season.
Daredevil (Disney+) - What a way to start off the new season, my god man! One minor quibble, the CGI is lacking in the first episode. I mean come on Disney, show some love!
Reacher Season Three

I meant to post this one here....

Ted Lasso has been a rare treat. I know a lot of folks have seen it already, but I recently signed up for AppleTV+ and man, me and the wife can't get enough of it.

Slow Horses... My god, if they or any agency in that capacity are like this. EEEK!

I'm not sure if explaining it would have helped much. For those who don't know, yes. For those who know, different questions come up. What did they discover, to start killing people? And are we really supposed to believe that the creators of algebra put something on a wall/ceiling in a chamber below Baghdad that helps to solve the problem? And it was hidden there for all that time? That was a bit of "Indiana Jones". And while I absolutely believe that government agencies around the world are "watching" researchers for progress in interesting fields, I'm pretty sure they're not putting cameras in their offices or houses.
I think the biggest problem with the show is, they're teasing all the math, without actually showing the math.

Finally finished season 2. It's really bad. I enjoyed season 1 a lot, but introducing time travel to S2 wasn't the best idea. Oh and too much trial and error with the reset point. Worked in S1, but it's way too much in S2.
Since it's now cancelled (which isn't surprising after S2), I guess we'll never find out what happens next.

Now I'm waiting for Reacher, Severance and Will Trent to finish the seasons before I'm starting to binge. So I decided to rewatch this (early first season right now):

Had a love/hate relationship with it back when it came out. So I thought I would revisit it and see if it gets any better. That worked for Lost, which I loved when it aired until the end which I thought sucked. When I rewatched it, I really enjoyed it. So maybe this will be a similar experience.
